      Repairing heavy damage, especially on a corner of a vehicle, can indeed be challenging, often requiring meticulous attention to detail and skilled craftsmanship. • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  9 месяцев назад

      You bring up a valid point. After hammering out dents on metal panels, it's essential to ensure that the bare metal is protected from corrosion.
      It's possible that in the video, the focus was primarily on repairing the exterior panels visible from the outside. However, ensuring the interior parts are adequately protected against rust is also crucial for the long-term durability of the repair.

    Would have preferred to see the car clamped to the jig so it didn’t move so much when pulling, triggered my OCD! Although I appreciate this guy’s effort and panel beating skills, that rear inner wing should have been replaced with a new panel, as in the event of another rear impact it wouldn’t be as strong as it’s already been compromised. Guess that’s what to expect from a main dealer repair centre there.

      Hi Han. I was wondering if you ever got a welding flash in your eyes? When I weld, I use a welding helmet with a special lens that darkens as soon as I start welding, and protects my eyes. Otherwise, when I got flashed, I would be a week with the impression of having sand in my eyes, a very bad experience. So ask your employer if he could provide you with that kind of helmet, you will thank when you're older.

    Somehow you get the impression from Japanese car manufacturers that the sheet metal for cars that stay in Japan is much thinner than the cars that are exported to Europe.
    The damage all looks more severe and the broken sheet metal can somehow be straightened out more quickly or dented more easily.
    That's why we often talk about Japanese butter steel here in Germany.
    Is that really the case?

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  9 месяцев назад +1

      The perception of Japanese cars having thinner sheet metal, often referred to as "Japanese butter steel," is a common topic of discussion in some regions. However, it's important to note that this perception may not necessarily reflect the actual quality or thickness of the metal used in Japanese cars.
      Car manufacturers typically use materials that meet safety and performance standards set by regulatory bodies and industry benchmarks. While there may be variations in manufacturing processes and materials used by different manufacturers, it's unlikely that Japanese cars are intentionally manufactured with thinner sheet metal compared to cars exported to Europe.
