Cast your mind back to season 1, when it was all stand-alone episodes and the focus was on the Love Square and it wasn't even explicit that Gabriel was Hawkmoth. How distant that all seems now! How dark the tone of the show has become! And indeed, how rushed this finale was compared to its counterparts in previous seasons. In a nutshell, the creators got bogged down in so much detail that they couldn't resolve it organically, giving things the time they needed to be explained and resolved. It's a pity, because the story in itself had so much potential to be powerful; ultimately we had to settle for a powerful final showdown between Ladybug (Bug Noire) and Monarch. Some have argued that at the last, Gabriel got a redemption insofar as Marinette touched the one part of his heart that wasn't blackened by burning obsession and persuaded him to amend his wish so that it simply encompassed him reuniting with Emilie, even for one brief moment in death. That is, however, undone by the fact that (as you said, Luna) he remained devious until the end. And that deviousness lingers beyond Gabriel's mortal existence - indeed, Marinette is perpetuating it by maintaining the lie to Adrien that his father and Monarch were not the same. That could have profound consequences for their relationship in future, if he finds out the truth. Season 5 may have ended with the pairing that so many fans wanted to see above all others - Marinette and Adrien - but it's very possible than in season 6 they will be ripped apart by revelations, and the rest of the Love Square may sail yet again. Lila is an enigma wrapped in a mystery tied up with strings of danger. Given that Gabriel's wish yielded a "perfect" world - too perfect to be credible, really - that final scene sows the seed for ruining that perfection. Lila's motives are unclear, though with her vendetta against Marinette she has entirely different reason to use the Butterfly Miraculous against her and against her friends and loved ones, and that bodes well for dangerous and exciting storylines coming up. She may akumatise Adrien or even Marinette, creating a real problem for the superhero team. However, before any of that becomes possible we will have to discover just what it was that alarmed her at the end. Was it Bunnix, or some other character from the future? Was it someone from the alternate universe, as we'll see in the Paris Special? Was it whoever Lila reports to - or will find herself reporting to - in taking over the Butterfly Miraculous? Was it Gabriel back from the dead, perhaps because he wished that along with wishing to be reunited with Emilie? (We don't actually know what he wished for; we can only hazard a guess from what the wish appeared to do, so the possibilities are unbounded.....) It has been quite the entertaining pleasure to see you explore this series, Luna - yet this isn't goodbye between you and the series, because there's still so much more to come!
The wish is still unknown, but we do know he traded his life to heal Nathalie in doing it. She's seen at the pool with Amélie (and yes it was confirmed to be Adrien's aunt/Félix's mom), but the writers warned the viewers in a reaction to the finale that not everything is as it seems in the new reality.
It is quite obvious he exchanged his life for Natalie. Tiki or who said if you bring back someone to life, someone else will die. If he brought his wife back to life, Adrien would die instead. He would also die from cataclysm. Natalie is seen healthy at the swimming pool. His wish was on natalie so at least Adrien will have a mother. Adrien's mother also wanted her to take care of him. It's not redemption at all but at least he finally did the right thing at the end. Still does not excuse everything he did in the past though
Oh yeah just watched Miraculous London World Special and it confirms that he exchanged his life for Natalie. It's literally the least he could do really
@@naylisyazwina6836 Yep, and he even left his would-be future daughter-in-law with the guilt of being unable to stop his death and the burden of keeping his villainy a secret. Even in death, he makes things difficult for everyone.
Hi Luna-Tk, I love you so much, your content and reactions are so Pawsome!!😍 I was impatiently waiting for this review to see your reaction at the end😁 I think in season 6, Adrien could find out his dad was Monarch because of the message that Ladybug leaves on Cat Noir's Voicemail🤔 (if it has not been deleted by the wish) that would be a great plot twist for the rest of the season... Good luck for the future and can't wait to see your reaction to the Paris Special and the next seasons!!😘😘
I kinda wish that they repaired (going to repair) the destroyed miraculouses (that got turned into rings) by going into the Order of the Guardians’ Temple in Tibet. With this, it keeps the magical and mysterious aspect of the miraculouses, instead of just being normal jewellery that Marinette made
Wait it's confirmed the new jewels are created by Marinatte? I thought the Miraculous Ladybug reversed the chaos Monarch created, hence reversing the destruction of the jewels
EXACTLY, this world is TOO PERFECT and EERIE! It’s clearly set up for some sort of disaster and we have both Lila and Tomoe Tsurugi who are free and not convicted of anything. Also, Marinette, Su-Han, probably Alya (since she was in the room), Felix, Kagami, all the kwamis, Bunnyx, and especially Tikki and PLAGG know Gabriel was Monarch. It seems like Adrien will find out about Gabriel at some point, not to mention Lila knows it too and she could DEFINITELY use that as some sort of advantage to hurt Adrien!
Ok so over the past week I binged watched these reactions... starting with s1 e1 about what, 8 years worth lol... and now there's a season 6 coming later this year

What happened with Gabriel at the end was kind of a pseudo-redemption: Marinette managed to convince him to stop pursuing Emilie but Gabriel still made the wish, albeit a different one.
@@FeligamiAdrizoeSworaDooplivianForgiveness is ultimately up to the individual. If you don't want to forgive Gabriel for his actions, that's fine, you don't have to. Gabriel did acknowledge that he messed up, felt remorse for it, and was willing to fix his mistakes BUT he went about it the wrong way which puts him in a weird middle position, hence why I like to call what happened to him a PSEUDO-redemption.
Pretty fitting that it was ultimately the power of love that ended up defeating Gabriel. What ultimately allowed Marinette to defeat him wasn't her awesome powers as Bug Noire but her reaching out to him as Marinette because the show has always told us that Marinette is still a hero, even without her Miraculous and this episode proves it.
