As a past delinquent who dated a teacher´s daughter I really felt what Tomoya had to go through... However, the reason why I like Tomoyo is because she did what I struggled the most, which is getting back to my studies and become better not only for myself but for my family... also, Tomoyo was mature enough due to her background and that made her capable of understanding and feel sympathy towards Tomoya. I think her role in the game is more of what a mature person would act, as since the beginning she always knew what to do and how to do it something that most of the girls in the game don´t... not even Tomoya. And well, that´s why she´s best girl for me xd

Tomoyo has one of my favourite routes romancewise, when I watched the anime long ago, I really didn't like her, because she was usually only used for comedy purposes, which makes sense since half of her route is romance content just like Kyou. I know there was the OVAs of the respective girls routes but it wasn't enough to make me like her. The VN opened my eyes to her, and I really think she's a great character.
For me Tomoyo's route was just the most enjoyable. I liked the dynamic they had with each other and honestly watching the two of them slowly get closer to each other was great as well as the fact that Tomoyo was picking up on Tomoya's slack as well as doing what no one else did for him in years. Like waking him up in the morning cooking dinner for him and so on. Considering he didn't get any love like that in years due to his family problems it was refreshing to see. I liked how the whole thing ended up being "Is she too good for me" because in his eyes she had alot going for her while he's just slowly floating through life and the comments the teachers were making wasn't helping and I could tell its what made him say something completely irrational like wanting to break up with the girl that was perfect for him. In the last side story chapter, Ushio decides to go on a trip around the world, and I was so baffled, she's only 5 years old at this point in the story, and she's doing this by herself? And I'm wondering, why are Tomoya and Nagisa letting a toddler travel the world by herself?
I’ve read a few of them but I haven’t gotten to that one yet lol. Sounds weird, I’ll check it out. I’m guessing tomoya and Nagisa are going with her?
@@Totaraum Nagisa, Akio, Sanae, are seeing her off at the airport, and Tomoya’s got work, so Ushio is literally going on the trip by herself from what it seems like. You can search up Clannad side stories, there’s a RUclipsr “NezumistreamVODS” to read the whole side story.
@@soc7967 lmao that’s wild, I’ll give it a look. I don’t need the RUclips video since I own it on steam. It was a gift from a friend and he was really pissed to hear that it’s essentially a drama cd
I also just found out that it’s not illegal for children 5 years and older to travel unaccompanied by a legal guardian, so there’s that, at least they get some help from the unaccompanied service from the airlines in Japan.
@@soc7967 well alrighty then
IM HEEEERE
welcome
@@Totaraum always good to be here for more Clannad huehuehue
@@noloxjexting8266 hell yeah
@@TotaraumTomoyo was the main reason I started reading the VN- mostly because I enjoyed how nonchalantly she and Tomoya would just chat after Sunohara had yet another near-death experience.
But after reading the VN,
Kotomi best girl
@@noloxjexting8266 I think everyone's favorite ended up being different than they expected lol. I remember first interacting with Kyou and thinking "eh, she's alright"
Yes but can she beat goku tho
I'd put 100 bucks on Tomoyo
@@Totaraum she beat three guys into submission in under 5 seconds , beerus is hiding from her

That wound't even by "weird shit", women being inot storng dudes who can portect them is like the most mainstream normie udnerstanding of female sexuality.
My biggest wiht Clannad is the atitude totakes Tomoyoas resentment of his father, I resent the notion that Tomoya owed anything to his father.
easiest way to remember there names for non japanese speakers.
ya, he is a boy, what about it.
YO, Thats a girl?!?!?
in all seriousness, most boy names in japanese end with Ya, and most girl names end in yo.
Learning more here than I ever did in school lmao
@@Totaraum fun fact: i wanted to buy clannad on steam, not only so I could experience the original story that i have to thank for one of my favorite pieces of media of all time. but also to act as studying material for Japanese.
only problem is the steam version wont let you view it japanese text. the one thing I really wanted from it
@@chJohnJobs If I remember correctly the console versions let you read it with japanese text
@@Totaraum Unfortunately, console's dont have a text hooker so I can copy on screen text and put it in my Japanese dictionary.
but if i was better at Japanese, I would definitely get the console version for that reason alone
@@chJohnJobs ah, gotcha. Looks like you've got some studying to do then
I beg of you do not play tomoyo after 😭😭 it's so bad and butchers both tomoyo and tomoya's characters
I've heard that it's amazing and I've also heard that it's terrible. Gotta form my own opinion I guess
Fair enough i guess, I can just never recommend it to people who actually like tomoya or tomoyo because they might as well be entirely different characters in after in a bad way
@@Cold030 I see. I'll keep that in mind
@@Totaraum I played the steam version, It was comedy gold but I didn't care for the secondary characters, although the story as a whole is clannad cry your self to sleep tier gold in my opinion.
