Beautiful project! I think the Four Star and the AstroHog are the best planes Sig ever produced. I have the larger Four Star with an OS .91 and 2 AstroHogs, one with a Saito .82 and one with a K&B .61 two stroke. Great kits to build and too much fun to fly.
@@millerrc5829 I really enjoyed building the 4 star 20. I made mine into a night flyer with led lights and transparent covering. It's a joy to fly at night.
It's almost as though you couldn't find a Sportster kit, so you settled on the Four star. Nicely done. Over the years, I have built four Super Sportsters, two were 20 size, and two 60 size. I consider them to be an excellent choice for a first low wing airplane. I could find no bad habits. Once again, nicely done! AMA 550442 (ret)
Yep pretty much I knew a 4* was going to be an easier kit to find plus there is on thing I absolutely hate about the original GP super sportster and that is that stupid wire landing gear in the wings IMO it’s one of the worst landing gear designs ever. So being that this has much nicer aluminum landing gear was another attribute for choosing this.
@@millerrc5829 Ah yes, the stupid wire landing gear. I've heard this before. I suppose if you're flying from rough terrain or grass that's too tall, it could be a problem. I was fortunate enough to fly from hard surfaces. Although, I will admit, they do not absorb shock nearly as well as the aluminum gear on the Four Star. So, what's next on the bench?
after watching this video I ordered the same kit. The plane looks so stable and seems to fly so well (also compliments to you). I will also look into a 4 stroke glow because it just sounds so good!
Very nice dude. I started my flying hobby building kits. I cant wait to see the other videos. I just got the Four Star ARF from SIG. With the MODS you did you basically turned it into a Super Sportster. I like the curved tail surfaces... Subscribed
Thanks man yep I always wanted a super sportster and I liked this because of the landing gear on the four star is much better IMO than the super sportster
Niiice, thank you very much for sharing the whole series! I have an original build yellow one (second hand), planning to convert to electric first (as methanol is not my thing) and will definetly consider your great mods!
Very nice build and covering job!
Yay for building! Fun bringing kit built stuff to the flying field, all the foamy guys get flabbergasted
Good looking plane in the air job well done
Thanks man and as for your other comment there is a whole RUclips playlist of the build process.
Beautiful job especially the mods you made. Thanks for sharing!

You did an awesome job !! I enjoyed every video.
Wow what a great job.
So happy to se that young people are still in to actually building a model.
Congratulations on a nice classic and a great flight 👍
Thanks I enjoyed building it.
Very nice. I had a couple 4 stars. Great flying plane
Very nice! Congrats on a successful maiden! Mike c
Thanks man I’d love to build another some time or any of the other sizes

wow shes pretty!! Great maiden!!
Thanks I’m happy with the looks to
Nice job dude!! I’ll be waiting for your next build. Maybe a BUSA Smoothie?
Nice job, the great thing about Sig kits is they are fun to customize, they might seem old school but really there great engineered models
Awesome work! That's the same engine I have in mine! I built mine way back around 2000 or so!
Wow that’s a long time thanks for sharing 👍
Great flying Four Stars are great flyers. Looks awesome Jeff in LA USA

@@richard1472 not sure yet and unfortunately it’s most likely going to be fall-winter again till I build another balsa kit like this.
@@millerrc5829
That's okay.
I have a Sig Kadet Senior on the board right now. I can cope.
Cheers, mate.
Great job! Really like the mods. Changed the looks from a fun fly to a scale looking plane without a lot of additional cost.
Looks like it flies great.
Very good job on the finish of the airplane! And, more important, it came in underweight.
The performance was perfect. Good job!!!
Yep don’t like pilot figures or heavy ni-cad batteries I care more about flight performance than looks.😊

Nice job, finished very clean, really like the mods, Nice job flying as well!

@miller rc you gonna have to give me a buzz and I'll over and we can fly together sometime
You say "go ahead and" like every single sentence
Go ahead and stop doing that 👍
Humm… I never noticed that!?!?!?
