Roberto Duran - Is a Panamanian former professional boxer who competed from 1968 to 2001. He held world championships in four weight classes: lightweight, welterweight, light middleweight and middleweight, as well as reigns as the undisputed and lineal lightweight champion, and the lineal welterweight champion. Durán was known as a versatile, technical brawler and pressure fighter, which earned him the nickname of "Mano de Piedra" ("Hand of Stone") for his formidable punching power and excellent defense. In 2002, Durán was voted by The Ring magazine as the fifth greatest fighter of the last 80 years. Durán ended his career with a professional record of 119 fights, 103 wins, and 70 knockouts. From May 1971 up until his second fight against Sugar Ray Leonard in November 1980, as well as in his fight against Wilfred Benítez in January 1982, Durán was trained by legendary boxing trainer Ray Arcel.

Probably the greatest inside / presure fighter of all time , Ray Arcel created beauty by molding Duran, RIP To Ray Arcel
he didn’t train duran freddie brown did
@@stickvisitorsparring trained duran from the fight with ken until the no mas incident, came back to watch his pupil beat up davey moore tho
loved Duran. followed is career since 1967.
My favorite boxer of all times, and one of my favorite fighters period!
Duran had it all - he was like the perfect storm.
EXACTLY, that's how he was able to go up in weight, and handle those guys without too many problems. He could box, he could punch, he could move, he had great defense.....just doesn't get any better!!
could you ever imagine someone else who is 5'7 with a 67 reach moving up and facing a giant middleweight (Barclay moved all the way up to heavyweight) like can you picture marquez or cotto doing that? I don't think so. could you imagine them facing golovkin at 160 too? I don't think so
for real. Roberto Duran was a TRUE FIGHTING MAN!
George Havenhand absolutely. And Duran didn't just move up and manage to survive. He dismantled the bigger Moore and Barkley in their primes and not at exploitative catchweights.
mickey walker was built the same and fought heavyweights and knocked em out!!!
samtotheg Walker is a forgotten great
@@dannyboy4140 catchweights is not the same .
The only thing that keeps him from being the undisputed greatest fighter of all time was his weight gain in between fights and not always going into fights in top shape. The losses to Dejesus, leonard and benitez were all results of partying and eating to much and not properly preparing. There would have been no Ray Leonard if Duran had trained like he did for the first fight.
EXACTLY !
Well said!
Hmm not sure about that, because Ray Leonard fought with a different gameplan than in the first fight. we don't know who would have won if Duran was in top shape
@@garrettohyeah7365Duran would have lmao.
I think Ray came in better for the rematch. If Duran was in shape I think it still could have gone either way. I know Duran was elite, but let’s not act like Ray Leonard wasn’t elite too. Both top 10 boxers ever imo
Faced everyone in their prime, had all of the skills and an animal instinct. His defensive skills were off the chart!
10 Greatest Boxers of All Time.
Double fisted attack hitting with tonnage of impact, expert ring movement, granite chin, just plain MEAN, gigantic stamina, intensity of hammering pursuit, superbly skilled lateral movement.
No discussion involving
The Greatest in The Ring goes without saying aloud,
ROBERTO DURAN.
That short right at 1:49... and the footwork to go with it! Damn
One of the greatest ever, I personally think that, Roberto Duran is one of the few boxers who would transition well to MMA due to his ring intellegence and amazing ability to adapt and his skill level.
Hav Risen is not a statement. is an opinion. your comment is silly.
Duran would go to some local jails and fight inmates with bareknuckles to train sometimes. As a young teenager, he would fight American sailors who were stationed in Panama, with no gloves and he would KO much bigger men.
Especially since he was formidable in stand-up grappling
@@blite13 that's insane, I saw his movie "Hands of Stone" they should've put that shit in there, What a guy
Duran was truly one of the greatest ever, great highlights man.
The best light weight in history of boxing.
One word : SAVAGE!! best highlights of Duran
One of the greatest fighters of all time. He was just a fantastic and exciting fighter to watch. The reason I really love him is his inside work but not only that but he would never try to,"Oh, I need to get comfortable." And cross his feet, do joker stuff just to get comfortable, he'd fight technical the whole fight and box without doing that stuff. He's great.
The way he backed up throwing an uppercut. Amazing
Duran is ranked within the top 10 greatest (#4#) fighters in boxing history.
accuracy is amazing
the man..they dont make them like this anymore
Still ,he was lazy.He went up in weight because he was born poor.He loved to overeat.
he was lazy? It wasn't till later in his career when he was having weight problems. Problem was, he was sooo good that he could blow up in weight, lose it during training and still win. It caught up to him for sure, but when you are into 80 pro fights, it's hard to keep the 'spartan' lifestyle.
Yes he is...and yes they do!
@@blite13 there was some fights where he was in bad shape, like 2nd fight vs leonard and fight with thomas hearns, i also saw him in bad shape in other fights as well. i think he was less disciplined and couldnt handle fame and success as good as other top boxers could
@@ChrisE-iy7ok Duran never had a problem with being in shape until he moved up in weight and became older. Duran had over 70 pro fights by the time he met Ray in Montreal. Like I wrote earlier, it's hard to keep up the spartan lifestyle when you have been doing it for many years. Fighters get to a point where they want to enjoy life instead of training all the time. Duran definitely took it too far sometimes.
true fighter duran will fight anybody he is all bark AND bite
From a golden era. A proper man.
That music got me dancing.
A man of culture eeh! 😎 my man
One of my favotite BOXERS ever
Great video, perfect soundtrack
Glad you liked it!
The most skilled savage EVER. He’s top 7 all-time on any credible list and take away the inexcusable No Mas, and I think he could have been as high as #2.
GOAT legend
Just how great was Duran? all-round fighter, fantastic boxer.
Great work pal.. My hero!! Pure latin Machismo!
Duran was the Greatest 💖
La furia incontenible de Durán era asombrosa junto a sus puños de piedra.
Beautiful. that was an Excellent tribute.
Bravo haNZA. Always amazing work! I can't dance for shit, but I was dancing in my head throwing punches.
The machine!!!
I'm a big Floyd fan, but my guess is that Max Kellerman would rank Duran higher than him by sheer fact of his greatness ranging from 135 to 160 lbs. And Duran did it with grit and pizzazz.
everyone has Duran ranked higher than Floyd jr. Max kellerman? Like he is an expert? Come on dude.
one of the greatest
great highlight mate!
Thanks mate appreciate it!
it's also interesting to note that duran is the FIRST guy to be a lightweight (undisputed ) welterweight, AND Middleweight champion. in reality the first guy was Henry Armstrong but he was given a controversial draw at middleweight when he fought ceferino for the title so he was only featherweight, lightweight and welterweight. really he's the first but on "paper " durans the first.
00:26 a lightweight goes up in class challenging a much bigger, faster, stronger welterweight - probably the best welterweight of the past 50 years-... And he still able to maul him ripping body-shots with unreal timing and variation. Textbook scientific street-fighting man
Duran el mejor.
Te gusta mucho el boxeo de Roberto. Te he visto en varios videos! :D
Busy, busy, busy.... W O W !
Greatest Latin American boxer of all time.
That's Jofre.
vvaannddaallll hell no its chavez!
Rodageado Chavez ain’t got anything over Duran
Nah Salvador Sanchez
@@Hugh_Morris Duran doesn't have shit against chavez the best.
foreal good highlight you killed it with the music
Never seen a fighter move up so many weight classes and still be effective.I boxed and wrestled in college and it was difficult to move up 1 weight class
I think Manny Pacquiao's got him beat in that regard just in terms of sheer number of weight classes as he started at Light Flyweight. They're both legends though that's for sure!
@@hanzagod forgot about manny.
@@randquadrozzi1280Duran moving up was more impressive. He fought all the way up to super middlewight while never truly taking care of his body.
Roberto Duran beats any of the lightweights and super lightweights of today.
love your highlights
Ko Machine 💪🇵🇦
awesome vid thanks dude !!!!!!!!!!!
That was one very very mean son of a bitch. Amen to his prolific career. Nice sequence haNZAgod to the Hands of Stone..Well put together my friend.
P4P number 1.
Excellent mix! Super dope!
It’s funny cause he could’ve deadass beat hagler and Benitez had he took training seriously
The best boxer ever p4p
After Hagler and Hearns lol KO
Floyd said he was his farvoite
Josh, then Hearns is after Berkley p4p? Idiot.
great Video ♡
ВЕ-ЛИ-КИ-Й !!!
Hey Hanza, I know I've been requesting a lot of boxers from you, and I may have asked this before, but would a Benny Leonard highlight reel be possible?
I think you have requested that previously, I suppose I could attempt it... It just wouldn't look good due to the bad quality of footage.
El unico en todo tienpo
Manny Pacquiao of the 80s Roberto Duran
Lou Lucena no better
Lou Lucena lol no pacquiao is the Duran of the 2000s
0:18 Rocky Duran???
That was his nickname early in his career
@@hanzagod grazie 😉
Funny how later Duran appeared on Rocky as a cameo too,he did fight Rocky as Rocky the 2

Are u possibly interested in producing a Tureano Johnson vid?
Shintaro Tayake I am but unfortunately the last time I attempted to make one I noticed the quality of footage wasn't good at all.
Oh, thats too bad. Thank u all the same.

Duran would kill both chavez and Pacwauio
Hahahahah Chavez n pac man would of beaten Duran.
@@Rodageadonot really, young pac get a bit reckless at times, Duran had more tricks than Chavez, it's gonna be one rough night, Duran can take both on a decision I think.
@@TheNeorch prime duran lost to de jesus, chavez and pac man are way better then jesus I take chavez and pac man to beat duran.
@@Rodageado De Jesus was no slouch tho, hard puncher that held the wba lightweight title in his era,and Manny also loses early in his career, idk bout Chavez but his 87-0 enemies are...uhh..
@TheNeorch just like duran and alot of the ATG fought alot of uhh boxers at the beginning of their careers plus I forgot to mentioned ur boy duran won his 1st world title he won by an illegal low blow that's how he beat Buchanan he had to cheat to win.
