Private jet travel is one of the most opulent examples of wealth and luxury. Private jets have given unprecedented mobility and privilege to the world's wealthiest people from the beginning of the Learjet age to today's ultra-long-range large-cabin jets.
The Gulfstream G550 is a business jet aircraft produced by General Dynamics' Gulfstream Aerospace unit in Savannah, Georgia, US. The certification designation is GV-SP. As of January 2016, there were 450 G550s in service. The final G550 commercially available unit is to be delivered in 2021. The list price of a new G550 is currently about $61.5m depending on the configuration, and it's worth negotiating for discounts from this listed pricing. Average asking prices for one built in 2005-2006, is in the range $18m to $21m.
