Wow, you really turned that awkward stairwell into a masterpiece. Nice work
Thank you!

Creating nice, clean, usable storage that makes the wife happy is a very underrated project. Well done.
Awesome product. I’ve been watching all your videos since I discovered your channel and subscribed a few months ago and I gotta say it’s one of my favorites in this category. I get the impression you have some kind of background in the trades because you do work to a high level of skill and make it look effortless and know a lot about framing and mitigating issues with older homes. What I really like about you videos is how well you articulate your process and reasoning for choosing one method or option over another and explain it in a way that people that lack knowledge of experience could easily understand. And on top of that, you seem like a really humble approachable person so it’s really enjoyable to watch your videos and feel like I’m hanging out with a friend working on a project together. Thanks for all the videos. Hope you and your family have a great 2024.
I love that you made 6 videos of a 3 hour, in total, process of transforming this stairwell Fixer! We don't deserve you!
Fantastic Matt! I love how you customized the premade shelving. I let out a gasp at you sharing your thought on a possible basement office… I cannot wait to see how the basement gets updated.
“FALLAPARTICLE BOARD” hilarious! Love the storage area!
You always make it look so easy, but we know better! You are a craftsman and your work always looks so beautiful! Thank you for the video.
The shelving was so smart. Took 5 mins to weigh your options and get the 3rd one and save a few bucks and reused your spare parts. Amazing as always ❤
I love all building vids! Especially storage!!! Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all
I've been looking forward to the finished product on this build. It came out great.
It's beautiful. You must be so proud of how your home has become beautiful and more valuable. And it's all square! Job very well done! 🏆
Can't beat vertical storage. And what a masterful job!!
The charging station is sweet.
Hey Matt, so glad you took the time to anchor those shelves to the back wall. With little ones around you never know when someone wants to go exploring. Turned out great, more storage always a plus!!
Wow! What a difference. Amazing! I'd have to open the door and peek in there every time I walked by!! 😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I like the battery charging station. When I built mine in my sewing room, my cats decided they needed to play with the AA & the AAA's & would knock them down on the floor and mix up the charged with non charged ones. My home uses a lot, & do mean a lot of AA & AAA's, so I drilled holes to store them vertically when charged. The non charged I keep in a shallow glass bowl. For every device that uses rechargeable batteries I have an extra set & just for my home theater remotes, mice & keyboards, WiFi door locks and all ceiling fan remotes there are 60 batteries. 16 more for thermostats & 24 more for flashlights. 4 chargers & 8 batteries for power tools, 24 batteries for all security system window & door sensors, 16 batteries for talking medical equipment & 16 - 9v for smoke alarms. I also keep 12 extra 2032 lithium batteries (computers & kitchen scale), 12 - 23A 12v (doorbell), 12 - 123A (motion detectors) & 24 - CR1220 3v (cat laser) handy. Wow, I never actually counted all of the batteries I have until now.. As if I didn't have enough, I will be buying the 40v power head and 2 to 4 batteries for my Ryobi Expand-it series lawn & garden set. OMG how can I forget the lights on my bicycle headlight and tail light, there is another 4 batteries. LOL just about to click comment and remembered the 4 in my security system lighted yard signs, the 8 in my driveway landscape lights & the 4 in my beard & nose hair trimmers. My brain is starting to hurt from counting more, like my cable line tester and Kline tools non contact & multimeter has another 6. A 9v for my inferred thermometer, and 4 more for my Dymo LetraTag digital label maker. 2 more for Black & Decker VPX tire inflator. I lost count at 260 batteries.
Tell me you have more batteries, or that I am krazy. I am a professional button pusher.
Your dog was not impressed by the store-bought shelving units 😆
Fall-a-particle board. Perfect name for it.
Yeah, it is handy to have the dimensions of the studs for hanging shelves. Whenever I have a wall open before I put up sheet rock I take a photo of the wall. Then I mark it up with all the dimensions. This also shows the wires or plumbing in the wall. I store the photos in a file on my PC for future reference.
Your smart phone can store this in the notes or photo album section easier.
You are blowing out the gate running already in 2024 .... Cheers man! Thank you again for all the vids over the years and happy to go along for the ride in 2024. Happy New Year!
Thanks so much, bud!!
Another great result with a whole set of useful videos for the DIYer! The Fixer is my fave DIY channel!
Those shelves are ok as long as you never take them apart again, nice project .
Good “Yankee carpenter”!
- from one to another. Congratulations, fun to watch.
Good work. I like the end. 😂 Please more of it. ❤ Thank you for the nice content.
Oh, I love the transformation. Great ideas on storage and hanging stuff. 💪
You are awesome and I bet your wife is very happy 😊.
that half shelf at the end was the coolest thing ive seen you do, and its been a lot of cool stuff lol
Yes!!! Office in the basement would be so cool!!
Matt, This looks awesome. I like it. You like it. But what's most important is that your wife likes it! 😃
Very good job. Accuracy was on point. Tools heaven galore.
Awesome job my friend. I love watching your videos.
Excellent! I love the idea of the purchased shelf units; the cost of the wood to make them might even be more, plus the labor to build, sand , prime then paint. This was a win win!
I like the dedicated corner for the vacuum and broom area; love a good organization video. A trip to the dollar tree store for some bins would really finish off the area. Plus you still have a place for hooks, to the right, as you srep in the area.
OK, hint, hint - look forward to the basement office in our near future. Nicely done!
I never comment your videos, but this one, really liked how you took something already made and customized it for your needs, really interesting and entertaining!
Awesome to hear. Thank you!
Hey. For store bought units you customized them and they look great.
What an awesome transformation. Happy wife happy life. 😊
Amazing as always Matty
Great job! Love how you took store bought shelving and made it look amazing in the stairwell!
The storage room turned out really nice, professionally done.
I wish I could hire a handy man like you to do stuff in my house. Excellent job!
Appreciating the bloopers at the end. Long term project: Basement Office and workshop?
I think....
YOU are awesome & a genius
Absolutely loved this series as always! Didn't know Mrs Fixer was a Blackadder fan 👍
Great job and great use of space 👌🏽. It looks really nice.
Fall apart particule board 😂😂. So true. The koda box has its place❤
That is such a nice, usable, bright space! Great job.
Fall-a-particle board. I like it!!!
Loved the whole series, well done both of you! By the way…Fallapartical board, hysterical!
Awesome level action.
Pro camera guy tip: Make everything in your kit run off of ONE battery type. You'll thank me later.
That battery charging station shelve must be my favorite part of it all. Very nice.
This came out great, as usual with your work!
Like the teaser about the basement office. I’m sure that will be a great series.
Nice work, smart move with the 'pre-made' shelves!
Koda grunting was everything! 😂
happy wife happy life! great job
The Fixer 👍
Great use of that space. Excellent job, as always!
You inspired me to put a shelf in my utility room. It looks so much better and very functional..thanks..love your channel!…
I love all the storage space you created in that tight area :-D Nice job!
Wow wee! Amazing man cave has been created.
Excellent quality job! Perfect! Love how meticulous you work…that’s the only way to be 👍
that’s so much really nice storage! also the “fall-apart-icle board” def resonates lol **looking at the closet with the sliding drawer thing that somehow pulled out a screw because it was too heavy that i had to temporarily fix for now**
Your creativity and attention to detail knows no bounds
Thanks for posting. Nice job
You should do some sort of sliding hatch over the stairwell. Maybe have a switch that will automatically retract it.
came for the Koda cameos…stayed for the shelving 👍✌️
🐕 😁
Ok put a folding step up that crosses the divide so you can access the top shelves, ❤mount it to the opposite side wall, it will fold down so shorties can reach thier items.❤ nice to see you, Happy New Year!
Awesome as always, much cleaner and more usable than it used to be. Looks like you're just about done with all the major remodeling of the house and it all turned out great. Cant wait to see what else you'll be doing in 2024. A new bigger house for your growing family perhaps?
Matt, you do such great work. It looks great! I can’t wait to see the office build (shhhh, I didn’t say that)
For a good second, I thought you pre-built the shelf and was about to carry it to under the stairs.. 😮.. silly me, you would never 😂… well done on organization layout
Excellent Job I suscribed today , good videos!!! Thank you.
Great use of an odd space
I like the shelves! Thanks for the ideas!
Turned out beautifully. Can’t wait to see the home office.
The whole thing looks great.
Looks really good Matt. Great job.
I love watching you and your ideas!
Awesome series I love the finished product! ❤️😎👍
This looks so good! Also I love the outtakes!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Great job looks amazing! Can I add 1 more thing to the honey-do list? Some sort of sliding retractable or pneumatic lift floor to cover the stairs and regain some floor space in the pantry and to make falling down the stairs practically impossible.
Would look really good too
Wow, great job. I love the storage area!!!
Very Nice.
7:52, lol, I was waiting for that! I would do the same thing.
I really love the stairwell! it is a lot brighter. I want to do a similar thing with my basement, it has old wood paneling that I want to rip off and put sheetrock up. Watching your videos gives me more confidence.
Dude - without watching this latest episode in its entirety, but I will after I finish my comment, I just want to tell you that your house will be worth a million dollars plus with all your improvements. And I love your simplicity and humility about the products you use and the design you put forth. Life is difficult enough and when you have the magic formula as you and your family have - living simply and pragmatically, all you need beyond that is each other. Continued success and prosperity. Sincerely.
Love this! Also, I heard from someone that you may be building an office. If that’s true, I can’t wait to see the process!
I hope, you get an office soon (and build it)!
It really came out looking great 👌
This turned out fantastic!
That was nicely done, TFS.
Absolutely awesome job! 💕💕💕
Damn that looks clean
What a transformation, GREAT job!
I am so jealous of your beautiful storage area! You did a great job!
Nice project series. Need to address handrails on those steps.
You nailed it again, great video series with an awesome completion and reveal.
Happy New Year to you and your family
You what would be cool ....is to make a folding floor...that can give better access to the area in front of those back shelves..and add an extra line of safety for the kids in case the ever get into that space and try to get something from the shelf...You could essentially keep the floor down until you need access to the basement
I’m inspired! Love the shelving.
that looks great! i used those same shelves in my own office.
Loved these videos👍🏻Cabinets were a great idea!
Nice work looks great
Thanks so much!! 😁 And thank you for all of your support!
