  • This is a simple video where I show how to use multiple footages to solve a shot. This can be used to solve a shot with the help of survey footages.
This video is for sharing it on the FX Camp Facebook page at pages/FX-Camp/180756858738385?ref=hl

in the film back options you put the sensor size of the canon 7D witch seems to be 22.3 x 14.9 mm witch give you an aspect ratio of 1.5 right? but when you shoot film the aspect ratio changes to 16>9 right? so it should give you a different sensor size (other number) when you use pftrack you should ignore that fact and just put the real size sensor measures or is more accurate to compensate for the cropping and input the correct size

Thats a very important point that I've missed out on in this video, glad you mentioned it!
Yes the sensor size of the 7D is 22.3 x 14.9, but that is for a full image. A video usually does not use the full sensor, especially the top and bottom portion.
So basically the same sensor size cannot be used while tracking video on such a camera. In these the width of the sensor is correct but the height is much smaller. (only because the top and bottom are ignored)
So the actual sensor dimension for videos will be, 22.3 in width and 22.3/(video aspect ratio, 16:9, 1.777) in height (22.3/1.777 ~ 12.54).
That means i'm using the aspect ratio of the video to calculate the effective height of the sensor. And PFTrack already knows this ratio when the footage is loaded in, so by providing the width, height is automatically filled in.
      I hope that helps!
