    Great experience sharing bro. 3 pin plug charging is ok but not recommended for prolonged use due to safety concern. As per the wallbox output, it depends on whether it is hooked up to a 1 phase (max 7.4kW @ 230V) or 3 phase system (max 22kW @ 415V). Also depending on your Kona type, the OBC can either take 7.4kW or 11kW max from the wallbox. Your charging capability always depends on the weakest link (tnb supply, wallbox, car OBC etc.). I'm happy to talk to you more if it helps with better understanding and awareness on EV. Btw, where did you get the Wallbox Plus from? Looks sleek and pleasing than other wallbox out there.

      The mystery has been solved! Hyundai is the Wallbox supplier. But apparently they installed the 7kW version and not the 22kW. They are coming tomorrow to change the Wallbox and hopefully that would give me 11kW (as e-Max 64kW has 11kW AC OBC). By the way, my house is hooked to 3 phase. Thanks for responding. At least I know there's an expert I can rely on.

      @@McD3500 that's great. Funny thing is the pulsar plus is already rated for 7kW up to 22kW (as stated on Wallbox website). I think the wallbox is good but the installation may not be fit for purpose? How much was the cost for the charger and installation btw?

      @@kwkashwheels6564 I paid RM7k for the 22kW model. Hyundai provides two options. The cheaper option is the RM6k for 7kW model (which they accidentally installed). I think it's a pretty good deal, and a sleek design. The app works too!

      @@McD3500 thanks bro. Does that price includes installation and breakers?

      @@kwkashwheels6564 Yup. But up to 10 meter of wiring only. You need to pay extra for additional wiring.

    I wonder, after You turn that On switch near to the Wallbox, can Wallbox start charging instantly, or it need some time to boot itself completely up?

      I actually got the 22kWh charger. So it's RM7k++ I know it's on the high end. I got Sime Darby and their contractor to do the installation

    Hi great video! Has the 22kW wall box replaced your 7kW wall box? What was your charging rate after the change?

    • @McD3500
      @McD3500  2 года назад

      Yup. Now I have a 22kW. Usually I get home at around 60% (about 100km of daily commuting). To get back to 80%, usually it take about 1 1/2 hours

    To charge kona ev at charging station in malaysia, what is recommended charging cable amp size to buy? It is ok to buy those from online website? Tq

    • @McD3500
      @McD3500  2 года назад

      You would want to buy at least 11kW. Most of the chargeEV stations can do up to 22kW. I bought a 22kW cable (although my Kona can only accept 11kW AC) because you never know, I will buy future EV cars with 22kW onboard charger. I bought mine via the online website. And so far, so good (you can watch my recent charging experience using the cable)

    Can use app to control?

    • @McD3500
      @McD3500  2 года назад +1

      I have never really tried it. I use the app to monitor the charging history. But I use the Kona's app in the car to control my charging limit/time.

    How much do you pay for your kona?

    • @McD3500
      @McD3500  2 года назад

      Bought it for RM200k. But the car comes with 2 year warranty. So had to top up another RM10k for an additional 3 year warranty. So I would say RM210k (or US$48k/£38k).

      They installed a wrong unit. Later they had to come to my house again to install the 22kW. Of course the Kona can only accept 11kW. It's more of a future investment. Just in case 😉

    Use 3phase, 32amp x 240v x 3phase..

    • @McD3500
      @McD3500  2 года назад +1

      Yup. Unfortunately, during the first installation, they brought the 7kW wallbox. Hence the low power. Eventually they replaced with the correct wallbox!
