      While working as a bouncer at a gentleman's club we had a patron try to slap the rears of the dancers as they walked past his table. I gave him and his friends a warning not to touch the dancers, so the genius slapped the rear of their waitress. She proceeded to slap him across the face, and started yelling at him. Just as I was reaching the table to evict him from the bar he jumped up grabbed a beer bottle and raised it over his head to hit her with it. His three friends and the waitress got to learn what it sounds like when a human shoulder is dislocated by being pulled straight up above someone's head. They also all got to learn that could scream like a little girl.

    Could you imagine alien species with no concept of normal every day people being capable of extreme acts? Like how terrifying it must be for that character to come to the realization that every human if needed, can do things like rip an enemy to pieces with their bare hands, or continue fighting with more strength than before when mortally wounded. Plenty of cases of parents who lifted entire cars off their child, or in a fight for their lives inflicting nearly incomprehensible damage with only their fists. Then you give that person a weapon and it's far worse. Honestly, when we inevitably meet another species I feel if they aren't from a similar or worse world, we'd be looked at like monsters. Hell I certainly see some of us that way already.

      @@phoenixx913 100% That is the most terrifying part of us. Even taking our penchant for throwing things out of it, just the fact we keep running until what we're hunting collapses is a pretty messed up thing to do. @@KaiHenningsen No, they are pack hunters. Things never get a chance to run as they get encircled. Humans are the definition of endurance hunters and are literally the only thing on the planet that evolved that way! Dogs (and the wolves they come from) hunt in packs and kill by biting the throat of their target. They absolutely are NOT endurance hunters. An endurance hunter wounds you then chases you till you completely collapse and can no longer move. They don't even need to wound you, just constantly chase you. The reason humans can do this is because we can sweat from our entire body. There is only one other animal capable of this but it is not even half as effective for them and that is the horse. Humans can function on very little sleep (we are actually designed to sleep twice a day for 2-4 hours each, NOT once a day for 7-8 hours. corporations and governments forced us into this odd sleep schedule and it is not the best for our health) and can keep going thanks to how effective out digestive system is at getting energy. Humans require meat for this however. We are omnivores but that means we require a balanced diet of both greens and meat. We get the majority of our energy from meat however. Long as humans have some jerky and the ability to nap, they can keep up the chase on an animal till it collapses from overheating and complete exhaustion. A human can walk right up and kill it easily then. THIS is what an endurance hunt is all about. You need not even wound the prey, just chase it.

    I also like how humans have the reputation as cunning, almost uncontrollable, brutes. It leans into Humans as space orcs.

    • @Sorain1
      @Sorain1 Год назад +8

      I've always liked the take that humans are clever tool users, but only the apex species of their home world because the moment anything not human harms one, all the others put those tools to use destroying whatever did it. It's like finding out the friendly mascot turns into a piranha. So the natural response of other predators was to learn not to take that 'easy meal' and not let their fellows do it either. Because the humans don't just shoot the one wolf, they start shooting all the wolves they can find. See Wolves and England for where that goes.
      It's what peaceful humans are like, because at least when humans are fighting each other it's obvious they're dangerous.

    As always great content, story 2 made me recall something that terrified my roommate.
    While at work we were unloading mobility chairs (the old people lil scooter things, with batteries in they weigh 80-200 or so pounds depending on size) from the back of a truck. Now I'm not the biggest guy, barely 6ft around 200lbs, but thinner build, like i don't look scary big or anything. Usually we were unloading it with 2 people for safety and ease. Another employee at the time had been pissing everyone off almost intentionally, and while I'm usually the nice, joking, and fun guy it got me. So I lost my temper, told the young guy off, rather loudly and unpolite and began grabbing chairs solo to work off the anger.
    My coworkers and roommate later said sure it was odd seeing me lose my cool since I'm usually the calm one, but what made everyone stop and go wide eyed (something i didn't see at the time since I just doubled down on work) was that I was grabbing the heavy ones, swinging them like I was going to throw them only to stop on a dime and set them down carefully like they weighed nothing. I don't particularly remember doing anything memorable, but the general consensus was the lifting something heavy wasn't bad, the "ripping the scooters off the flat bed" wasn't bad, it was the sudden stop and careful placement like nothing was wrong that got them.

    And these stories being told by fictional aliens had me learning and thinking a lot about myself, humanity, what is out there, and what is within.
    Ots absolutely true, humans have demons inside them.
    Its also true that an almost all humans have an iron tower of willpower keeping it in check.
    However, our aloen friends really dont know, how close we are from letting it lose, how thin thqt iron tower can become over time, abuse and despair.

A bunch of angry mismatched disorderly soldiers And other stragglers and taggalongs that just decided to join in and even a ship's pet. If that don't say humanity on the frontier front lines I don't know what does. I also love the fact that humans look after their own Logistical Situations. They know first hand just how bad logistics can be when it comes to trying to get supplies to the line in time so they figure screw it. They'll just get whatever they need by Scaving and taking everything they can get their greasy metal Mits on. Something that everyone needs to learn when you're around A human In war time. If you are not using it a human is going to find a far. Better way to use it than you ever will so just give it to them instead. Even more so that after the last human died the regiment did not die. More recruits kept coming in probably hearing tales of these insane maniacs, Gladly adopting The trappings and behavior of humans long since Passed on. Our culture Of warfare, even if we are not immortal, Is immortal.
    Some humans put their demon Inside of a tower, others in a gilded cage of iron, Some chain them down to some immortal rock tossed out into the infinite of thought. And a strange few select individuals do something unspeakable even among humans. They murder their demons outright gut and hollow out their insides They take the bones and turn them into weapons. They take the skin and cure it into armor they take the blood and boil it into poisons and potions to increase their strength and their killing potential. For those humans they have decided that they would absorb the demon that they would make it part of themselves and If use what was left to become their armour and weaponry. If we call these very few select humans These strange godlings among our people. The doom slayers. For they have quite literally slayed the doom inside the heart of the human soul and used it to become even more powerful than most could possibly imagine. And more horrific than any demon could dare to dream to be. For they rip and tear without question fear or mercy. Until the job is done. And as long as demons exist be in the physical the mental or the spiritual. The job will never be done. That's why every doomslayer is branded with a special mark on their arm indicating who they are what they've done and just how dangerous they can be. Do not face the children of the realm of doom. To awaken these living Monsters wearing demons for armor and Clothing. It's to awaken the death of all life in the universe and all the multiverse In continuation for all Perpetuity.

    Stories and story telling is top notch. I'd like to know how agro squirl got into all this. Does he like the stories or just narrating? How does a dude who looks like he should be swinging a battle ax in some viking raid get into something considered nerdy. There's no one in my life I can talk about these stories with because well I'm from the hood and I'm the nerdiest person around. Anyways, thanks agro squirl.

      I have enjoyed Fantasy and Sci-Fi since a kid , the narrating thing start mostly out of desperation. I'd like to point out that the tank in the thumbnail has barely any travers on the turret because it slants down for the impractical four barrel coaxial and makes it impossible to get more than, and I'm probably being too generous on this, ten degrees of rotation maximum and depending on how far the driver's hatch extends that may be even less to the right or it may be impossible for the turret to even turn that way, it has either the most impractical fender for the front of the tracks or the "fender" is actually the front part of the tracks in which case the thing can't move at all because the tracks aren't even connected to themselves.
    Can you give us a link to the thumbnail? I want to analyze it better.
