We used to drive up to JPUSA in the 90s for their Saturday night concerts/fellowships, and that's where I first heard the Crossing play this encouraging song. Love it! So many great memories of JPUSA and the way they used their talents to glorify God.
One of my very favorite songs of theirs. It's on my memorial list for my wake, LOL! I'm going to keep telling my kids about the Lord Jesus even after I'm gone!
This band would do well among secular/pagan Celtic groups, I think, but NPR usually steers away from most religious themes given the political Right Wing's regressive Conservative Christianity.
Is there a good way to play this on guitar for those of us who don't have a bouzouki? I'm trying to work out the chords, but it's clearly wayyyy off the beaten path, and my kids who know music theory inside out are also having a tough time getting it right on guitar, even after trying several alternate tunings.
He's playing the Irish form of the bagpipes. It's an uillean pipe, played with a bellows under the arm so they don't have to blow into the pipes to get sound. If you like their sound you may like the Irish traditional band the Chieftains. Paddy Malloney of the Chieftains plays the uillean pipes.
One of me and my son’s all time favorites.

I absolutely love this song. They used to play this video on Zmusic a lot in the early 90s.
Really brought me back some years, when I was walking with the Lord. Love their music

JPUSA. Good People.
This reminds me of Clannad. Interesting that this isn't Pagan.
Have they played this on "Thistle And Shamrock"?

What is that instrument where the fellow is pumping a bellows with his arm? Is it some kind of bagpipe? I love the sound it makes.

Anymore like this?
I believe they have other disc. You might wanna check out the JPUSA site. They might be able to point you to other artist like this.
Is that Eric on the far left with the Bizouki?
No, it's Mike.
