Yes u can but magnetic particles in the hydrogel structure may not be homogeneous distribution. U should try impregnation of Fe3/Fe2 ions method. There is an example work in my channel.

Hello, I have tried synthesizing magnetite using the method you have shown in this video. However, I did not add the ammonia hydroxide drop wise, I immediately added it. Upon vigorous stirring, the ppt became black and I left the solution to settle. I then tested it with a magnet and they were magnetite ppt. My question: Since I added the NH4OH immediately, is there any chance that the ppt are pre-mature? I want to use the ppt as pigment and for some reason I am unable to get the desired quality.
My guess is that adding all the ammonium hydroxide at once will produce larger spongey masses instead of discrete particles. Usually a surfactant such as sodium dodecyl sulfate (dishwashing soap may work) is added as well to reduce particle size as well.
How much (volume) Ammonium Hydroxide solution was used? What was the molarity of Ammonium hydroxide solution? When did you stop adding Ammonium Hydroxide? What if we use green leaf extract instead of water?

FeSO4 and FeCl3 (Fe2+ and Fe3+ mole ratio 1/2) used for Fe3O4 supply. To reduction reaction, NH3 aqueous solution used bur u can use another base solution such as NaOH aqueous solution.
Hi sir.... I have tried this method. After addition of NAOH and continuous stirring. I moved up a magnet over the sides the beaker ,the particles haven't risen up.... I am not sure about the amount and concentration of added NAOH...What might happened? can you pls tell sir...
The base concentration is very important. If it does not move, the reaction has not occurred. 8 times the mole of Fe ion is required. Fe3+ and Fe2+ use 0.04 M and 0.02 M respectively. U can try again by using NaOH dropwise until pH 10.
@@polymerscope6881 sir can you pls tell the exact concentration and volume of NAOH that should be added to the concentration of the precursor that you have mentioned.

yes, u can in oven

0.02 M FeSO4 and 0.04 M FeCl3 in 400 ml water at 80 C. U can add the 0.1 M NH4OH solution on this solution by dropwise to pH10 around.

Try using some kind of surfactant in your solution, this tends to make smaller more uniform crystals instead of amorphous growths
I think you create a lot of ferric and ferrous hydroxide as a side reaction if you add ammonium hydroxide all at once instead of adding it drop wise.
I which solvent you make the solution?@H2O ?
did ammonium hydroxide can be replace by only naoh?
Yes
How much (volume) Ammonium Hydroxide solution was used? What was the molarity of Ammonium hydroxide solution? When did you stop adding Ammonium Hydroxide? What if we use green leaf extract instead of water?
8 times the mole of Fe ion is required. U can use 10 times. The green leaf extract is used for green synthesis. But the reaction efficiency decreases.
ugh *Clutches chest* the fact that you used anhydrous Iron(III) chloride to make an aqueous solution irks my soul.

sorry; I didn't understand,how much fe(II) and fe(III)?
Kindly tell the ratio of ammonium hydroxide with distilled water, thanks
We need 8 times as many moles of OH- ions as the total Fe (Fe2+ and Fe 3+) ions. So, we need to add about 10 times.
What is the size should be?
Its about 100 nm.
Can you please tell me about procedure in written form or any article?
U can find many studies in the literature. I will upload a detailed video about it soon.

Have u not used heat of 80°during the precipitation reaction
