MADONNA DEFENDS HER ANTI-TRUMP SPEECH AT WOMAN'S MARCH
Madonna is defending her fiery, expletive-laden speech at Saturday's women's march, saying she's been "taken wildly out of context."
Speaking Saturday in Washington D.C., the singer described sometimes being angry after the election and that she had thought "an awful lot about blowing up the White House." In a statement Sunday on Instagram, Madonna said she was trying to express that there were two ways of respond to Donald Trump's election: with hope or with outrage. She hoped to effect change, she said, "with love."
"I do not promote violence and it's important people hear and understand my speech in its entirety rather than one phrase taken wildly out of context," wrote Madonna.
Cable news networks broadcasting her speech cut away after Madonna used several expletives. MSNBC later apologized.
