- Revolutions Remixed is a fan edit combining elements of "The Matrix Revolutions", "The Animatrix" animated shorts, and the "Enter the Matrix" video game. The goal is to create a 2 hour film which is a tribute to the original work while presenting something completely new.
I believe I see some "Alien 3" influence in this scene with the Squiddy POV shot and the general atmosphere of this sequence. The Wachowskis have admitted to being admirers of David Fincher and his work. I'd also imagine they are the kind of people who believe "Alien 3" is a misunderstood masterpiece.

i think the machines were prioritizing destroying critical parts of the zion defense and penetrating deeper with the Breacher. They only focus on killing Capt. Maf due to him being near the gate and the gate being a priority target due to the hammer.
If only Captain Mifunes, a man so driven for his cause, his relentless screaming and zero trigger discipline, was operating a Warhammer 40k Dreadnaught. He could have been an even greater bane to the Sentinels.
He'd be dead again in no time.

No wonder we lost the war to the machines how many friggin times. Our officers were dangerously unqualified!
Or maybe it's because the machines don't sleep, and in a war while someone trains 4-6 months for a workout, the machines would have invaded everything already
That’s typically how militiamen are. You can only hope for the best training, but in a situation like this your army would be relying solely on smaller victories achieved through unconventional means. That would mean sabotaging important operations (supply lines, established bases/strongholds, heavy artillery, etc.), attacking smaller groups to obtain more supplies, and constant reconnaissance to properly monitor the enemy to ensure your army can strike at the right time.
“Art of War” tactics are difficult with machines because machines don’t know fear and are pre-programmed to dispose of their enemies without hesitation, on top of having the capability of seemingly operating without rest. Even if the Machines needed to recharge themselves, they still had the advantage of manufacturing more machines since they dominate a majority of Earth’s resources. The humans attacking at the wrong time might jeopardize the humans’ mission, and focusing too much on top-level field training might mean they’re wasting time they could be spending on scouting the machines and preventing the machines from assimilating stronger defenses or offensive artillery. The fact the Machines were literally about to drill in the humans’ base of operations says a lot about how quickly the humans needed to act, regardless of how prepared or well-equipped for a battle they were.
I would go on to say that even if the humans were properly trained, the Machines would still have utterly slaughtered the humans, were it not for Neo and Deus Ex Machina agreeing to a truce and defeating Smith. Even the Architect remarked on how effective the Machines’ forces were at exterminating humans, and it was the reason humans didn’t bother making bigger advances.

It’s pretty depressing to think how many times Zion’s been destroyed and how many Captain Mifunes died defending it. And be forgotten in the rinse and repeat cycle before the events of the films.

I honestly feel this scene inspired titanfall 2 when lastimosa handed bt to jack cooper, sick scene.
The machines could very easily wipe the whole city out in minutes but they’re drawing out the fight to give humanity the “illusion” of surviving.

The machines in the matrix act like a hive mind. Actively changing and adjusting its strategy against the humans. Fighting Terminators would be like a battle of attrition while fighting the machines in The matrix like holding off an invading force.

The first wave of the Machines seems to be running low during there fight against Captain Mifune.
Because there was a tail on the snake like Machine attack. Which passed by quite quickly.,
Also i hear some gunfire in the distans when Captain Mifune dies, so mabye the humans had some Firepower left.
If they had been able to reverse engineer the sentinel’s lasers that would have been awesome!

My dad took our family to watch the first Matrix in 1999 and as soon as he saw the delicate young comic relief, Mouse, he leaned over and whispered to me “he’s dead meat”. I didn’t get the mechanics of Hollywood stereotypes back then but it was hilarious!
Pretty sure their weapons would start to overheat and malfunction after a few minutes of continuous fire. That wouldnt be cool though.

Now that I think about it why can't they just start producing tesla coils that automatically skullfuck robots whenever they're in range. The city will literally be a deathtrap for anything that tries to enter above it, it's basically a glorified electric fence

I assume that Zion’s technology base is limited to what they can salvage from pre-existing technology and 21st century engineers that got out of the Matrix. It might be also possible that the Machines made sure to leave behind only technology they felt that wasn’t too much of a threat, like the Hovercraft, EMP, APU and Lightning Rifles as they have tactics and the technology to counter each.
Plus I remember the big thing was that the Machines relied on Human Farms for power generation while Zion relied on some geothermal systems, so I assume that the Tesla systems wasn’t designed due to not having the necessary power infrastructure to even maintain it, let alone use it effectively.
I don’t think that would have helped like we’ve seen them to be able to with stand stuff like that and still keep moving so it would just take 3 of them to basically punch a hole and make the whole fence useless
If it was that easy Humanity wouldn't lose the war in the first place.

Even the Sentinel is not type of powerful war machine.
Proper war machines only exist around the machine city as a defense, and the rest were discarded or modified after the war with the old humans..

@@buttersbutters9106 The humans lose this battle, fall back, and set off an EMP to stop the sentinels. Why not do that FIRST, instead of sacrificing everyone needlessly? Because it is a dumb plot, motivated only by what the directors thought would "look cool."

@@TheMrPeteChannel The sentinels bore into this cavernous room, and fill it up... humans know this will happen, therefore they should go ANYWHERE else, and remotely set off EMP in the room. Done. But no, here's a better plan. We stand in the open, waste tons of expensive ammo that has to be manually reloaded every minute by grunts with no armor or protection of any kind, and we all scream and die... THEN set off an EMP. 'Cuz it will look cool.'
Its pointless, like the scene where the bad guys flip upside down and run around on the ceiling for no reason. Their heads and torsos remain at about the same aiming height in the room as when standing on the floor, so they aren't any less easy to shoot. So what was the point? 'Cuz it would look cool.'
Neo can freeze speeding bullets with his mind... so why does he still have to fistfight agents at normal human speed? 'Cuz it will look cool.'

Always loved these fights but just so impossible. Completely impractical/impossible. Once the hole was breached if they didn't keep the numbers getting past the hole in check they are done as soon as that fails. The loss of even one APU is devastating and only compounds the matter. Losing that fire power to keep the hole in check and once you hit that tipping point its like a damn breaking and the machines just flood over everything wiping them out not flying in circles letting themselves get shot. But that doesn't make for great or long movies lol.
The way the machines group up is common in fish wildlife, is used so a predator cant lock on a precise target and instead must go for the mass, the mass can disolve and regroup tiring the predator. Is not practique when the predator use bullets but meh, the machines are bad ad improving, the imitate most of what they are, the designs of the centinels are based on bugs
@@joklamarbgd5303 But they've acted far smarter in all the movies as well as before this scene and after. They aren't just a simple AI they are smart and dogged hunters uncaring of danger or numbers. Once they had full entry and had wittled just a handful of the defenses down they wouldn't just fly in loops. Going by past behaviors they would mob, blindside, and actively hunt everything in sight. It's just them movietizing the scene to stretch the scene, make a dark hopeless situation, and not just completely stamp out any hope of survival for the final fight. When in reality they would be dead. Unless the Hammer was literally a 2 minutes away after the hole breached the docks and Neo was 10 minutes from making the deal with the Machines. I don't dislike the scene just criticizing it and being nit-picky. As I said I love the fight but looking at it realistically with how they stretched the times like the Hammer being 15-20 minutes or more out and Neo even longer.... Yeah they screwed.
assuming each sentinel is an advanced AI with somewhat of a personality and desire to continue living leads me to think that no one wants to die during a winning fight.
@@AGAZILLION Doubt they have any kind of a personality. By the way they just mass the ships in the tunnels without regard to losses even though its a guaranteed win. Unless they use the EMP. Which still leaves the ship crippled and easy for any waiting just around the corner. I think they are little more than a fairly advanced solder AI with no fear or cares except killing their targets. As I've said it's just a movietized scene for the benefit of stretching out the scene, building suspense, and everything else that goes along with such. Still love the scene but doesn't mean we can't poke at it either.
I think the sentinels are just the AI bodyguards, they aren’t alive. But if I was to justify why they move like that it’s probably because 1. The machines got cocky after destroying Zion 5 time’s and 2. Maybe they do it to conserve losses, they will lose numbers anyway maybe this is just the most effective kill to death ratio.
If instead of machine guns he had two swords, surely Zion would be safe.

Bad spot for defending, I think it would be more suitable a narrower place cos' attackers' characteristics and also really bad attacking strategy through only one hole

If you watched the Animatrix you'd know that armour is totally useless against the Sentinels and will only slow the pilot down and block their line of site. So better to cut back on armour to save metal that can be used to build more APUs
Plus strict limited resources... remember this....
