Day before yesterday we traveled from trichy (tamilnadu ) to maharashtra via NH48 ,upto Belgaum road was good..next kolhapur to satara to lonavala pune road under construction, heavy traffic in pune NH 48 ,it take more then usual hours to reach Mumbai.. Any one suggest any other options to route available return MH to TN
Hi nice blog. I am planning for Bangalore next month and kinda first time. How is the road condition and Apart from Satara Ghat is there any Ghat in between like Kolhapur to Hubli and then Hubli to Bangalore ? And how is the condition in Ghat section? Also seems you stayed at Hubli which hotel?

Thanks! The NH4 continues to be painful with a lot of construction! There is no ghat beyond Satara! We stayed at Anantha Grand!

So the road from Hubli to Bangalore was good ? How many of km in total would be diversions?
Yes, after Hubli the road is awesome till Bangalore! The major diversions were between Satara and Hubli, close to 350 km
