Remove the intake hose only ! Remove the 2 bolts for the first thermostat. The second thermostat in the housing . Remove the hoses & 3 bolts on the housing replace seals if needed & slap it back together. simple as that

Thanks for the torque spec. This is one of the most over engineered housing I have ever seen.

I whole-heartily enjoyed this video. Although, it did differentiate off of the subject of the history of Zimbabwean cuisine, I still found use in how the car began sparking at me. ❤🧠👶🏻

Thank you Haynes! You made my job way easier today, especially with mentioning the specific bolt torque specs per year for the thermostat housing.
Not covered in video: Even if you drain the coolant, there will still be some coolant that will spill out onto your shop floor when you remove the thermostat from the housing.

I was always taught to put the spring towards the engine. I realize when he took off the housing the thermostat there had the spring away from the engine. I'm wondering if someone else had replaced this before and put in backwards? The mechanic put it back in exactly the way he took it out. Should it be switched or not? Not sure how this housing works or why 2 thermostats.....please reply Haynes...
