    The dowel method. Do you use it when (because) you're working with a teardrop gourd shape, but would also use it for a bottle gourd or canteen gourd with more of a round top?

      Not sure what you mean by "dowel method". As opposed to making the neck and dowel from one contiguous piece of wood?

      @@LowlyMountainBanjos Yes, exactly. Sorry, I should have made that clear. I'm going to attempt the one-piece approach, and I've always wondered about the logistics of the dowel method, specifically getting the neck angle correct.

      @@drewby613 I mostly just find that using one long piece creates a lot of waste wood and doesn’t allow for much error.
