Edith Mathis, the Richter's soprano par excellence, one of the most powerful voices I ever listened to for Bach's cantatas.

In the duet, Bach has written for the instruments a melodic line in the cello/bass section which is supported only by harmonies from the organ, but Richter adds a countermelody in the treble of the organ, actually drowning out the melodic line composed by Bach. This procedure is pretty widespread and should be recognized as the terrible idea it is - casual listeners can be excused for thinking the countermelody is also composed by Bach.
