The castle from ocarina of time was destroyed by Gannon at the end of the game so I believe there used to be a castle on what is now the great plateau but after it was destroyed, they built a new one in the area we find it now

I hadn't played Zelda games between A Link to the Past and Breath of the Wild so missing some context but the great tree reminded me of the tree in the first Zelda game that is the entrance to the first labyrinth. Great video, and I am happy to learn more Hyrule lore. Tetraforce? Hmm, that is intriguing!

In Ocarina of Time, we get introduced to a guardian deity named The Great Deku Tree. A giant tree who protects the kokiri (spiritual beings who can change their form and later in the series, turns into the koroks) and the tetra force was thought up when another game had a solid triangle as the golden power. It also didn't help that Zelda disguised herself as someone named Tetra to stay hidden from gannondorf. (The difference between Gannon and Gannondorf is the former is when he uses magic to turn into a beast while the latter is his original gorudo form

The reason that up until recently Zelda has followed a three pattern format is that in Japanese the number four is pronounced similarly to the Japanese word for death. Because of this pronunciation the number 4 has been considered unlucky or evil in some areas of the country. Like the number 13 is in the west.

    • @anAngeal

One thing that important to remember is that Hyrule follows classical geography rules. Before we came to understand plate tectonics and how mountains and oceans were truly formed, there was a general belief that landscapes just on their own changed drastically, with things like floods and earthquakes raising entire mountains and sinking continents into oceans. It's one reason why if you look at old world maps, say with Middle Earth or the Hyborian Age from Conan, maps intended initially to be 'our' world, but thousands of years ago, the land shapes would be completely different because they just thought that one massive catastrophe would alter everything. So with Hyrule, ten thousand years really can shift things all around on the map. It's a fluid place.

    There are no less than 4 different Temples of Time throughout the Zelda franchise;
    - Skyward Sword in Lanayru Desert
    - Twilight Princess which houses a dungeon by the same name
    - Ocarina of Time, the most familiar
    - Breath of the Wild
Temple of Hylia / Sealed Temple did not become OoT's Temple of Time; this info was made up by the writers of Hyrule Historia, which is non-canon and riddled with errors.
The Temple in BotW is confirmed to not be the same as the OoT one by geography alone. It's location and orientation to Death Mountain are way different than OoT's. It also contains no entrance to the Sacred Realm, no Master Sword chamber, etc. There are also stone monuments inside that have Hylian written on them. They translate to this:
"On this day the King of Hyrule opened this structure to the public"

You are just malding because you rely on the books for knowledge instead of actually playing the games. You are forced to defend them for that reason even though they are egregious with their errors.
No one who cites the books should be taken seriously. All evidence should come directly from a Zelda game. Just because Billy the Intern thought to put one of his headcanons in a book doesn't make it canon.
Using the books is truly a redditor move.

      @saraross8396 Год назад

I wouldn't use geography as a basis as to whether or not the Temple of Time is the same in Breath of the Wild as it is in Ocarina of Time. The geography of Hyrule, while in general does have a few consistencies, is extremely inconsistent at best. The Castle/Castle Town is always at the center, but other locations vary so it will be our reference point when talking about direction. Take Kakariko Village for example. Traditionally it is placed at or near the base of Death Mountain. In Breath of the Wild they are nowhere near each other. Death Mountain itself is consistently North of the castle, however sometimes it is more Northeast. Zora's Domain is typically east but in Twilight Princess it is directly North. Lake Hylia is South in one game, Southeast in another, Southwest in two games, and due east in a fourth. For my final example the Lost Woods are all over the place. They have been West, Northwest, North, Southeast, and South. That's five different locations for one landmark, and that's not even taking into account whether the Master Sword is hidden within. I should note that these are just the examples that I can remember, and that there are others I'm likely missing.
As for the Temple of Time itself, it is not unreasonable that it would be updated from time to time by the inhabitants of Hyrule. We must remember though to take into account any design differences that may result due to technological limitations that existed at the time a particular game was released. We must also remember its function in regard to the game it is in. The Skyward Sword appearance I will pass over because it really only has one use, and that is as a story movement point. The Ocarina of Time version is relatively simple with a courtyard in front, a main area, and the chamber of the Master Sword. Being heavily tied to the main quest, this one is designed for multiple return trips. The design of the Twilight Princess version for the most part seems to mimic that of its predecessor, however it should be noted that we never see the outside except in its decayed state. The altar for the Spiritual Stones is gone, but two staircases lead down into the main area from the entrance, something not seen in the Ocarina version. The chamber of the Master Sword is present, and also acts as a portal to a dungeon. Whether said dungeon is in the Sacred Realm is unclear. Now we have the Breath of the Wild version. Externally it is identical to the Ocarina of Time version except the complex is notably larger having three smaller temples in front dedicated to and in the position of each piece of the Triforce. Theoretically these could have been there but unseen in Ocarina of Time as you still need to go up a flight of stairs to get to them. The inside is also largely identical except for the altar and a separate Master Sword chamber. Instead there is a goddess statue. This statue sits where the Master Sword normally would if the Temple of Time were being used for that purpose in this game. How do I know? Because there is something unique about this particular statue. It is surrounded by six small statues, which is obviously a reference to the six sage medallions that surround the pedestal of the Master Sword in Ocarina of Time. As for its overall importance to the game there's not much as it's largely the finale to the tutorial area. Somewhere it is stated that the Great Plateau is where the Kingdom of Hyrule began. The surrounding ruins do resemble Castle Town as it appears in Ocarina of Time, with the Eastern Abbey being the location of the castle. Whether it is meant to be or is merely an Easter egg is perhaps up to the player.
Tears of the Kingdom has added a "fifth" Temple of Time. In addition to the ruins found on the Great Plateau there is another up in the sky. Again it acts as a finale to the tutorial area with the one on the surface being involved in a sidequest.
So yes, Hyrule Historia and books like it can and do get things wrong, however that is not completely their fault when the lore changes or gets added to. That book is now 11 years old, and four games have been made since its release. The book itself even mentions that things "may change in the future as new things are discovered" but that this is the record as of right now. This basically lets them off the hook for any inconsistencies that may arise from the release of future games, and was a wise move to include. Tears of the Kingdom shakes up the lore like never before due to certain story elements, so much so that you wonder if it and Breath of the Wild are in their own timeline. One element in particular supposedly happened between Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past, yet it is to be wondered if it is the same event due to another, equally important story element that would contradict them being the same when regarding previously established lore.
Hopefully you can see my point, and in any case I've rambled on long enough. When even the geography changes from game to game, one can't blame the writers if something was gotten wrong.

@@saraross8396 I would urge you to consider that the examples of the geographical locations of areas changing which you mentioned. Those are different areas given familiar names. All of those places called "Death Mountain" are different.
It's the same as irl. If I tell you that I'm planning a trip to Florence, am I talking about Florence, Italy or Florence, South Carolina? They are two separate locations that are cities that have the same name. Now apply that logic to Zelda. Similar landmarks with similar functions over thousands of years may receive the same names.

I forget which book it is, but one of them specifies that it is 100k years between OoT and the Calamity of 10k years ago. So in reality it has been 110k years since then, or rather 110,100 years when Link wakes up. Though I believe these years are meant to be an "order of magnitude," and not like literal years, so counting Link's "short" 100-year "nap" seems arbitrary. Anyhow, doesn't anyone ever wonder why BotW is always talking about the events of 10k years ago, but it's always the previous Calamity and not OoT or any other recognizable Zelda game?

In second chapter, the highly suspected fourth goddess has a representative in Twilight Princess, named Ordona. Also, the Forgotten Temple should not even exist as Temple of Time was built over it’s ruins once.
In Third chapter, the ruins around Temple of Time closely resemble the castle town of Ocarina of Time, so it possibly is the old Hyrule Castle Town.

I always had the theory that with the layout of the ruins of the great plateau and the temple of time, alongside the giant bulging chunk of land it sits on that it was swapped with the great hyrule forest.
It seems like the land moved was bigger than the great hyrule forest and they built a retaining wall to keep the soil in/build the divine beast under it. It would make sense knowing the placement of OOT castle town and it's map in relation to death mountain and would explain the moat around great hyrule forest as over 10,000 years passed by and it filled with rainwater more than likely.
Why it would be swapped is beyond me but with the castle rising in TOTK I hope my theory gets confirmed

However, this is false for three reasons: 1) Devs said NPCs gave away too much of the plot; 2) Open area was maximized to give BotW an epic outdoor feeling; 3) Devs have a policy of multi-use mechanics and features [to maximize processor power].

The so-called Tetra-Force has been debunked and denied by Nintendo so much that they even removed the fourth triangle from all future incarnations of the Hylian shield. It was just a weird artistic design choice for the shield that Nintendo now regrets because fans are making ridiculous off the wall theories about a tiny triangle on a shield.
The forgotten Temple goddess statue is confirmed to be the same as the giant goddess statue in Skykeep that crushed Demise at the end of Skyward sword.
Nintendo is very notorious for putting Easter eggs alluding to past games in their games. The problem is that they are terrible at connecting the continuity of everything. I mean... TOTK barley even feels like a sequel because of all of the continuity errors. It completely takes me out of the game when the NPCs Link spent a long time with in BOTW don't remember him at all.

There is precedent for a fourth God, that being of Time. And with the new information in ToTK, Zeldas Sage powers callback to Ocarina of Time, when she was first depicted as a Sage of Time (where Rauru is The Sage of Light... hmm, another ToTK connection).
The world powers are split amongst four deities. you used to be at the top of my feeds. Every time you posted a video your name would come up. But now I gotta come looking. It's crazy how much the algo god demands tribute. You're still in the game, Saria. Don't give up. Growth is a little slower but you're still growing. You have to feed the algo god his tribute. Don't go crazy making content. Just clip out your videos through YT shorts. Previews, interesting facts, etc, Feed the algo god and he spits out the recommendations.

Here's a theory abiut the pattern of three changing to the pattern of four:
The previous games are the altered histories. As in, someone rewrote the textbooks and hide the original recounts so everything had the pattern of three. But now with 4 "non-hyrulian-like" species, there's a pattern of four, but the history can't be fixed.
Also the Zora and Rito exist together because Hyrule Warriors merged the timelines.

Dear saria and anyone reading i hope all is well. I just want to say that Jesus Christ loves and cares for you. If you haven't done so please accept Him as your savior and Lord. And remember to enjoy and cherish all that is good and right in life for we only get one life and we don't know what tomorrow will bring.
