4-time National Champion in Ultimate Frisbee, 6 Guinness World Records, Amazing Race Season 28, throws frisbees into trash cans, basketball hoops, and pretty much anything a frisbee will fit in to. Just started my disc golf career and can't wait to compete! Always down to try new things and ideas, so please let me know what vids you want to see. More family-friendly content coming your way!
STAY DARKHORSE MY FRIENDS!!!
#DiscGolf #BrodieSmith
I'm an absolute expert on Birdogeying (Birdie look to Bogey save), and I don't think I have seen a Double Birdogey in quite some time. My condolences Mr. Gibson. The Disc Golf Gods giveth and taketh away.
Ha! I call that a brogie!
Brodie about Paul’s Shot: “ That was fantastic exactly where you want to be on this hole.”
Paul about his shot: “Eh, could’ve been better about 10 more feet.” Keep up the excellent work guys love watching ya. ❤️🔥
I love what you’re doing for the sport. I played heavily for a few years and fell off, working too much with too many kiddos, but watching you come in and take over this sport has gotten back in to the swing of things. Played my first round in close to two years yesterday and best my previous course record! Want to thank you for inspiring me to chuck plastic again. It feels amazing. Best of luck to you on your career. I’ll be cheering you on the whole way 👍👍
What is awesome to me, when Paul McBeth and Brodie get together, is you can hear the thought processes going into throws from the best discgolfer in the world and a "discgolf" newb like Brodie, who can throw better than me, but has the newb mindset like me. Thank yall for doing this. Forget the haters! You guys are breaking new ground. Thx.
love what you're goin for here brodie. bringing attention to the sport, being realistic about your goals and where you expect to be. it's just a matter of time man-stick with it!
Really love how much disc golf content you're putting out especially with there being no sports to watch on TV right now
sadly, the tournament was cancelled after round 2. As was all further pro disc golf. so there is only so much more tournament footage he can put out.
I found my discs during a garage cleanout a couple weeks back! Went out and played the next day. Now I'm here. Hooked again.
I hope people realize how amazingly good Brodie’s round was after hardly any time since he started. He beat some touring pros who have been playing years and years including 1,000 rated players. Especially this difficult Pro Tier course... this is unheard of. +12 for an amateur would have been just fine
Orangepie86 I agree. There will always be haters, but let’s be honest. Those haters are mad because he’s better than them and better than they expected him to be. I understand people are also mad because he got a sponsorship because of his media status, but he’s a good thing for the sport.
Brodie is definitely awesome. Excited for this Pandemic business to blow over.
GateCityBull ' nope he finished +2
GateCityBull ' Hit read more. I said if he had shot +12 it would have been good. Didn’t want to spoil his actual score
@@warpedoutsideyou get sponsorship if you're going to make money for the brand. Brodie is definitely making disc craft some money, sponsoring him was a no-brainer
Dude I’m blown away that you shot +2 in your first round of your first tournament at this course. With the pressure of playing on the feature card and the gallery. With the wind up as well. Amazing job Brodie , anybody who actually plays a lot of disc golf knows you played some damn good golf there. Keep it up!
Gene Kerr this is footage of round #1 so yes there was a gallery.
Gene Kerr you’re playin games. Done wit you pal
As someone who's trying to get into the Amateur scene, I really appreciate this insight into what the pro scene is really like. Thanks to Paul for almost mentoring Brodie and also the DGPT for the footage to make this possible. .
"It's almost like a dead duck flying through the air, trying to figure out how to fly when it's dead" hahahaha amazing!
Been there. Done that. Got the Double B! 😤
Brodie and his dead duck ..lol. Great.
I'll tell you one thing, for your first tournament, you putted pretty damn well dude. A lot of pros putt worse than that for years. Sure, judgement of the wind on upshots and knowing how to play the wooded holes is a weakness, but that's the same for a huge majority of players. Not bad at all. You definitely have potential to do very well. You have the right attitude. You're always talking about where you can improve. Good mindset. But I suppose that comes from being used to competition. You know you can always improve. I liked the commentary too, giving Big Sexy a run for their money.
SO enjoyable ! Thanks PMcB and Brodie. Keep it up when .... ya know .... when you can. There is no doubt about the positive impact Brodie can (and will) have on this game. To be where he is right now after such a short time is beyond reason. Nobody just "jumps in" to disc golf, starts practicing for a bit, and goes out and beats a bunch of pros in a big tournament. This is NOT a thing. And yet ...... here he is throwing 980something rounds on a pro course layout in his very first tournament. You cannot deny the talent is there. We will all anxiously await the re-start of our season so we can follow not just Brodie but all of the players that are becoming more and more familiar to us with each passing season. Thanks again guys for providing quality entertainment during these excruciatingly difficult times. I'll hope to see both of you in VT this fall when all of this current MADness is behind us. Be well everyone.
Some people have been giving Brodie flak for clouting his way on to the feature card but i honestly really enjoy watching him play. As a relatively new player to the sport of discgolf, I found his videos with McBeth and the others much more instrumental in improving my own game then just watching the tour. A lot of the shots and the lines that he struggles with, I can relate too, and listening to him and McBeth brake it down has really helped me with making adjustments.
Erik Dean is there anything that actually makes it a “feature card” other than someone covering it? I watched a different “feature card” on Jomez.
People are mad bc he is more popular. He was selected to be on this card. There are touring pros who have worked long and hard to be where they are at. They laid ground work for new players and they should be proud. The haters sound like old men sitting on a porch.
You can see in this video exactly what Brodie is doing for the sport, hes a natural ambassador with a LOT of good energy and to be alongside Paul McBeth makes for the ultimate disc golf duo.
10:04 - Ian from CCDG calls it a "Par Star" or "Par-B-Que." He also calls a star frame with an eagle or better a "SuperStar Frame." And an eagle is a "Simon." :D
25:58 "It kinda was almost like a dead duck flying through the air, trying to figure out how to fly when it was dead...."
Comment of the year!
Dude, I just wanted to say that I hadn't played disc golf in like 10 years, but watching you pick it up inspired me to dig out my old discs and pick it up again. Spent a couple hours throwing in a field and went to one of my local courses today to sneak in 9 holes. Shot over par, but it felt great to be out there again. I really appreciate the work you're putting in. Keep it up and these dudes aren't gonna be quite so keen to give you advise out on the course pretty soon.
Well done Brodie..... You and Paul are both great ambassadors of the sport.
Look forward to more tournaments in the future.
So glad to see you playing and having fun. You’ve got your whole fan base behind you, as well as other players rooting you on! Best of luck Brodie!
Congrats on the first tournament! Can't wait to see where you go from here. I started disc golfing because of your videos. Thanks for exposing me to this great sport. Loving it! I even busted out a scoober yesterday.
I feel for you Gibson, that must have been painful, but you kept your composure and didn’t flip out and make a scene like anyone else would have. Very professional man, I admire that from you and hopefully I will remember that next time I find myself in a similar situation...which happens all the time! Disc golf can just be so brutally frustrating!!
Really impressed by Brodie's putting. A lot of solid makes from 20+ feet.
Poor Drew. That drive on 18 was a thing of beauty.
I'm just glad to see so many positive comments! Finally! Keep it up Brodie, if we ever have tournaments again.
Great stuff, Brodie... Well done for your first round with three top players on the card. Thanks to the DGPT for the opportunity to see this. Keep slicing them videos, Brodie :o)
Brodie, my man, you got me going back out and playing. Started bringing my 4 boys out as well. Keep up the hard work brutha!
Thank you Brodie and Paul for all the great content.
Another great watch. Loved the commentary from both of you guys. Great partnership and chemistry on the mics. Loved seeing the scoober go in for you on R2!!! Hold your head high after a solid score on your first tourney, you should be proud. Keep up the hard work, stay safe! #KSTD!
It took a lot of guts to make this your first tournament. Those woods look brutal.
3 words...LET'S GO BRODIE !!!
Keep slinging them disc vids Bro. Been subbed to you for 6 years. but never really watched too much of your uploads, defo clicked on the Paige Spiranac collabs..... and obviously, your trick shots and previous disc golf content.... But now.. I'm like YES!! Every time you upload. Its been a joy following your Progression. long may it go on. I'm definitely trying a scoober... in the right situation.
Congrats on your first tourney round Brodie! Excellent coverage from "Brodie & The BEAST"!!! :) Love it.
Hey man awesome work! Really enjoyed watching you play.
With those forehand upshot just make sure you finish the throw palm up. Rolling the wrist amplifies the damage with those putters.
Can’t wait to see where you go from here. Good luck Brodie
Was super excited to see this coverage pop up WITH this commentary duo.
Brodie. To see you here with this result after watching video of you a couple months ago picking up golf discs for the first time and throwing standstill... Amazing , unbelievable , awesome , inspiring.. Congrats man..
Also solid wardrobe choice for the tournament. Was not a fan of the white shorts blacks socks from a previous video.
It's going to be disappointing not seeing you in more tournaments for a while..
Brodie,
I love the enthusiasm you are bringing to the sport. I too was an ultimate guy that turned to disc golf. I am not a discraft guy, but there is one discraft disc in my bag- the rattler- understable putter. It looks like a little ultimate disc and it turns right consistently for those Ani putts. Typically I throw an aviar, but for a 30 footer that needs to go right... Take a look at the rattler. I haven't seen any pros do this, but it works for an amateur like me. Paul- don't let Brodie talk you into doing silly things like onesie golf. Keep slinging them discs
Love that they let you guys do post commentary on this!
Good entertaining round! The 10ish min mark to the 16ish min mark of the video had a weird feedback noise, not sure what was going on, I thought it was my setup at first but then it just suddenly stopped. At least it stopped. I really enjoyed these 2 videos though, thanks @Brodie Smith ....... Keep slinging them discs.
Hole 16. You forgot your routine. "Its only Park'd if you make the Putt" lol. Good round. It's nice to see a human throw.
Love all the disc golf content! It’s great to see you getting into tournaments!
Love the disc golf content! Keep it coming
Just wait 3 months and you’ll be having other pros throwing scoobers for death putt layups.
Please keep it up! You, Paul, Par Save, DGPT... fantastic work
Hole 16 was awesome. Everyone was having a good time. Thats the way i like to play. I dont mind the professionalism of the tour, but disc for me will always be the time to have fun with the bros
Brodie, you truly glorious guy! Thank you so much for your contributions! Not only do you give us a new perspective into the skills of the top professionals, you also do it in a magnificent way! And as if that wasn't enough, you've given Paul an amazing platform to shine! Just wish you would be more aware, so that you don't interrupt him as much ;) Thanks again! This has made my year so far :D
I like the Uli shoutout, i almost aced the force i got from him at the ulibarri safari. awesome coverage, thanks for everything youre doing for the sport Brodie
I’m happy for your first DG tournament
Hey Brodie, as a fan of GM I was sad to see what happened but I’m loving the disc golf. I haven’t played in a while but I still have a floater driver and my putter disc, I’m gonna play tomorrow at a local course. Hope you’re happy with your move to disc tourneys, pretty dope
fucking Garrett and Matt ruined bro 5
Impressive appearance Brodie. I got to give a shout to my fellow Minnesotan Cale, though. He was spreadin' butter all over the course!
Nice round, just about what you expected, having a good time, lookin great :D Some throws need a bit of work but I can definitely see you in top 20-30 at some tourney this season ! I saw the scoober put from round 2, that's exactly what I was hoping you will bring to the game (on top of everything else ofc). This little flavour of a different style, something that's new and clearly viable. You have some good times ahead of you buddy :D
So glad I got to see your first round! Keep grinding!
Paul and broide commentary is fire
You really did do the forest part well! Really impressed! Those Are really hard tunnels in there...
Brody beast commentary is spectacular and nice round brody you guys are awesome
I always take a few extra breaths when putting for Par. Heavy line up for your first tournament, great job! 🤘
Brodie, Im a noobie here learning along side you, so please take this as you wish. I was watching your forehand throw on hole 17, I've had a hard time with this throw as well. I started mimicking 'Austin Hoops' forehand throw style and have seen significant improvement. I find that the whip and slight right leg over the left follow through keeps my body over the disc making it easier to keep the nose down and prevent the disc from wilding out. Just wanted to throw it out there as something that worked for me, I'm sure Paul is a way better coach than I am :p Keep up the great work, you are doing wonders for the sport!
"You had about 3 shots there that you could improve on."
So every shot on the hole. 😂🤣😂🤣 (Besides putts)
Great job Brosmith- It takes a lot of humility to record , commentate and criticize your first round for everyone on earth to watch. It's obvious you only want to get better, and I wish you all the best!
I’m proud of you man can’t wait to meet you at worlds this year in Utah!
To outplay some pro players that have years invested in this sport while he is barely 3 months in is insane. Anyone who is critical of his playing on the lead card (*cough* Jamie) should take notice. Brody a year into the sport will be playing at a 1020+ level every tournament. Inspiring as heck, been making me get out on the course more so I can play in local tourneys down here more
Great job on the 2 over man - you had some really good looking shots mixed in with the not so good!!! Keep the vids coming bro...
Was your round 2 recorded? Is there going to be a post production of that too?
Working on it
@@BrodieSmith Can't wait, thanks for all the content!
BaronVonSilkyBeard perfect question bro! Thank you! @Brodie, keep up the hard work man.
I was wondering the same thing i glad you asked and im glad its in the works
@@BrodieSmith Ooooh! Exciting. Hope you can show something. I searched and found coverage of Colten's magic Eagle, Birdie,Eagle charge on the chase card. Love to see your round 2 card...
This course looks so hard for a first tourney. Mad respect
Normally would not want to watch someone who has no chance to win on a lead card but this was an exception.
Though lack of experience showed, Brody played well for a first event. Once he figures out forehand shots, he could be a high end touring pro.
Feelsbad for drew on 18. I've had a birdouble before too. Nice round Brodie! Keep slinging those discs!
Brodie, THE 70ft Scoober!! You gotta do a tutorial video about that style of shot.
He has them on his channel, granted they are tutorials for ultimate. They are similar. Doubt he'll be giving tutorials right now, dude is still trying to up his game. At this rate, he'll be there in no time though.
You did awesome dude! Can't wait for your future tournaments! 💪
Whenever I'm within a good range to putt and I would usually make it if I treated it like any other shot I end up missing sometimes because I think it's going to be easy and dont focus like I should.
The Canadian's name is Justin. I've played in the doubles qualifier for worlds up here in Canada at Foxwood GCC. I've also played a winter round with him at Chicopee ski hill, also here in Canada. The Chicopee ski hill course could probs be on tour for another course representation in Canada. Justin's home course.
Paul is awesome to watch!
Amazing video Brodie thanks for sharing your experience with us
Hope this doesn't sound bad or like I'm throwing shade, but I'm real glad Bro Five didn't work out. I'm way more excited to see you grow as a disc golfer and I think this is a way more substantial future for you man. Good luck out there, I'll be routing for you all the way!
Brodie shot a good first tournament. Congrats
I like to call all pars “Am’ Frame”.
Crazy how much better Brody is since this tournament.
Paul - "second guy isn't as good this time"
haha so funny from the 2 brodies vs paul challenge video, great stuff.
The real bogey to finish was the firstbump/high five at the end from Cale
Well done Brody. You had some great comeback putts.
Great Coverage! Generous of DGT to provide top-notch footage!
10:18 call it a Par-frame.
I call it a parbecue
Can't believe they missed your upshot on 17. It was such a great shot and you knew it was money the second it left your hand.
Helluva round my dude.
Nice round Brodie. Your putting is great. The rest will come with experience. You are learning from the best. I think that's why people may be jealous.
For the first Tournament extrem great. I never saw i guy playing like that after 8 Weeks training. Also you controlled your Nervs at the Putting Green.
btw, Paul Mcbeth in the practice rounds was mad when he missed putts cause he had to dry them off, that shit cracked me up. Talk about motivation......lol
it seems like you always wanna go for the forehand shot when backhand seems to be the way to go. I do that a lot too and it gets me into trouble because I have the tendency to yank the shot up in the air and smack a branch before any distance is reached. Good score though man! I'm new to disc golf too but I've been subscribed to you for a while and this gives me a new reason to watch the channel. Loving the DG content!
Welcome to Waco Brodie!!
Amateur telling a pro what to do here. But it's something that really helped with what you were talking about on hole 11, with your toe to the target and the hips. If you land your right leg with your toes in, it will keep your hips in the locked and loaded position so that as soon as you apply pressure on the foot to rotate, your hips will be able to unwind and keep up with your shoulders. Might help, might not. But this was a game changer for me.
Goodness Drew’s rip on the last hole came out super hard and fast
So sad this season DGPT is in hold. I was really looking forward to watching this season!
Awesome been waiting for this vid..
Great 1st round the only way is up 👍👍
When Paul said the Avenger SS is his roller disc, I felt like there's at least one thing I'm doing right in disc golf.
"It's almost like a broken dog leg"
Good going. Nice round Brodie. That looks like a tough course and first time you, you did well! :)
33:39 awkward turkey 😬 Loving these videos!
You played so well. I need to learn the scuba
Nice Birdie in the wind on 15 Brodie.
More of this. (Once the freakout dies down.)
Ever come out to Rockwall, hitcha boy up. Congrats on the 1st tourney manng
Brodie’s upshot on 16 was just HORRENDOUS lol I don’t have any more words for that lol
Going to get really excited if you start working on the hammer throws later on xD
Hey Brodie if everyone pars it it's a "par frame" or as Ian Anderson calls it, "Par-be-que." Great shooting out there! Your first tournament and +1 on pro tour, fantastic!
Unrelated; who is this new drew? He went from glass cannon to gatling gun, this man is a monster now!
