Funny how the speedometer went fuzzy in sport mode. Obviously a problem they will need to fix! Lol. Nice bike. Thanks for taking us for a ride with you!
What did Carroll Shelby used to say? "You cannot have too much power, you can only have too little traction." Thank you for an intriguing video, Angel!
Those Performance pipes really sound amazing. I have a set of slip-ons on my Scout and I love the sound and they certainly let the motor breathe so much better. All I have is a stage one on it, and it does not need anything else. If I ever did ride one of the Sport Chief Sport with a Stage Two, I'd probably just have to but the darn thing lol! Indian makes a fast hot rod straight out of the box. Loved this video and I'm so glad you got to ride that souped up Chief! Ride and stay safe up in your beautiful B.C.!
So your rode the Scout and now the Chief! I have a Chief, stage 2 with Dean Speed Exhaust (tuned locally), no fairing 🤣and it rips. The freedom performance exhaust was 1 year back order. The sport chief you rode has Brembo brakes, inverted front tubes, and adjustable Fox shocks, which mine does not have so ride and handling is more aggressive with the sport version. It's interesting that they allow you to do videos on their bikes and Harley won't. The smile on your face when you went full throttle was priceless 😎
Great Video! What a bike! I've had my eye on Indians for quite sometime. I love the FTRs. I really like how this Cheif is set up. Sounds absolutely Awesome!
Nice review. Great looking bike. I’d love to ride one. The TS’s always make beautiful motor music. Better than the M8 107hp 139tq That’s impressive torque. More than my cammed 114ci M8 softail. More per cubic inch also. Not the HP but it’s a 2V head. Love to see one done with ported big valve heads.
Sport Chief with the better suspension would be the best pick of the Chief lineup in my opinion. Picked up my first Indian last may …. FTRs1200. Really solid made bikes. My local Indian dealer has recently got a red Sport Chief in stock and it looks awesome. Cool video 🤙🏁
I really like the look of the Thunderstroke engine, it has the look of the old style engine , while integrating updated overhead valves, but still looking like the old classic engine...I like the looks of the Thunderstroke engine much better than the Scout engine personally !! You sound like a spokesperson for Indian MC Angel 😆💖😘✌ I enjoyed the ride thanks for taking me along ❤
@@RedRiderCanadaBC much better than when they were using S&S engines...Not that S&S is a bad engine, but I just think companies should make their own engines !!
Well said Red. These are a VERY capable and fun bike to ride, and that comes from over 53 years of riding ALL sorts of bikes, and many many Harleys. Check it out; you will LOVE it I reckon.
It was so funny seeing you get yanked back in that saddle when you hit-it in sport mode. Those pipes on that bike sound amazing. It was funny seeing guys in traffic looking at you like, "man that's a lot of bike she's riding"...ha ha If I'm in the market for an Indian, I'm going to call them. Thanks, Red. This video was way cool. Eric in Kissimmee.
hello angel wow, I admire you for having the courage to ride such a big bike. You can see your enthusiasm for the bike, that's nice. Keep it up and enjoy it. take care of yourself .
That is one sweet bike. My dad had a Harley Street Bob with the 107 and it felt like it was trying to push you off. I can only imagine what it feels like on this Indian. This one has a lot milder aesthetics than the big Indians, which I prefer. That is what really turned me off about the Indians was the swoopy fenders. Not my style, but this one I like! Thanks for sharing Red!
Cool Bike. I once did a demo ride at the Harley Davidson museum. Took a new Heritage Classic with the 114 out and during my return loop, I was already trying to come up with a plan to swing the payments while avoiding divorce court. I will stick with my Road King which is paid for and avoid tormenting myself in the future.
Nice job. The only thing I would disagree on is using the tour mode in town. I own a Sport Chief and I have tried all three modes in town, on the highway, and the interstate. The tour mode for me in town doesn't have anywhere near enough immediate throttle response. In tour mode a quarter twist of the throttle results in very little engine response. Standard and sport modes are both fine and the response is great. The only time I've found the tour mode useful is at highway speeds of 70 mph or more with the cruise on when I need to roll onto the throttle to speed up slowly. Other than that, for me the tour mode is unusable. I really love the bike and the tour mode may be the only thing that I dislike about it.
This is a great test drive, thanks a lot. If I were a blogger, I would also blurr my speedometer, that's just for a different reason. My speed in the city is 40km/h, and on the highway it is 80km/h, and if there were no cars, I think I would drive even slower 😂
I was looking at the scout but it's only 1300cc ISH and after owning sports bikes and a 1700cc 2014 fatbob the drop would be crap for me, the chief is alot more expensive so I'm looking at a Harley again, still not sure on fat bob or street bob, the biker smile well cool
Ha ha ha... She's Hooked .... lol. Yes Angel, that 300 # diff is going to be a huge deal maker for those wanting a ride in the 550 to 600 pound range with the low seat height and Mid-Controls, and .... Whoop-ass Power. Stay Safe.
Get you and your dad to work on that rear fender. That thing has enough metal in it to build 8 rear fenders. Needs a little customization. Great video you take care and stay safe.
The styling looks more Scout than Chief to me, i would have thought the modes would have just changed suspension settings and not engine maps, ripping your arms out of their sockets sounds like fun

Not true about only tuning Indians at Lloyd's in Corona CA. Many Indian dealers can remote tune to Lloyd's in their dealership.
