We already have things for which we can prosecute past presidents. Examples are Obama’s killing of a 16-year old American citizen by drone strike without due process, George W. Bush’s WMD lies, Biden’s criminal refusals to enforce border laws and defiance of Supreme Court rulings, and even Clinton’s crushing of “b*mbo eruptions” and lying under oath. This not only protects Trump, but any future and past presidents who could have easily been indicted as well. The only thing that protects former presidents now is tradition, only Democrats are willing to throw all that away due to hatred of Trump. They’ll use all sorts of unprecedented legal contortions to charge Trump. The whole idea is to protect presidents against political prosecutions, which is exactly what is happening now.

I dont think it would be good for the moral of the country to give a president absolute immunity from criminal prosecution. Ingrained in the fabric of our society is the motto "Nobody is above the law". Its what we strive to uphold although in reality it doesnt always work that way but at least its a principal that we strive for. This principal that we have lived by "Nobody is above the law" helps to give us the sense that we are all equal by making us all equal in the eyes of the law. No one is special. No one is above the law. Its what we are built on. Its in our DNA. Its what we can all agree on. Its what makes us a great nation.
