Everyone is a part of a group chat, usually, it;s a family group chat or a group chat with your friends. But when multiple people are part of the chat, it's way funnier and way more awkward when a text goes horribly wrong. Enjoy :)

My ex accidentally dumped me via group text to his family. He texted that I wouldn’t be joining them for Christmas anymore because we had split. This was after 10 years. Oh and bonus - I got the text when my plane landed on my way to say goodbye to my dying grandfather.

I really enjoy all of Miss Charlotte’s videos but I really get a kick out of the ones where she has to think about it for a minute. The editors make that break funny and then the look of realization on her face just makes me fall apart! Absolutely hysterical! 😂🤣

My partner accidentally sent a pic of the envelope from a note I wrote to the group chat with our kids... the note was not innocent, but thankfully none of that was shared, haha. I had to do the same thing, send an "oops, wrong group!" text before it went any farther.

Literally had a friend who was like the person who started a group chat for the "lovebirds." Think third wheel but agonizingly akward.
I put my head on my bfs shoulder? He did the same. I set my bf as my lockscreen, he did the same. If bf and I went on a walk? He did the same, but just slightly behind us and making comments about us being "lovebirds." He literally would follow us around saying, "you know she likes you, right??"
Bf and I went on a date? Next day he asks bf to go to dinner and a movie with just the two of them.
Any time bf and I would talk, he would suddenly need to talk to bf privately because he always had some sort of "big revelation" to tell him.
Before bf and I started dating? Seemed like a normal dude in our friend group. Then went wacko.

I recently left a group chat and it has changed the entire dynamic of what I thought were solid friendships. Some of the participants are retired and have tons of time on their hands. I work in real estate so...I left it and so here we are. Or aren't.

What makes you think that a couple with a 13 year old are "boomers"? My boomer parent's youngest child is me at 40. I'm the age of that weird mix of Gen X and Millenial (born early 80s sometimes called Xennial) and I have a 21 year old.

I noticed that too. I'm a "boomer" at the youngest end of that spectrum, and my son is 30, and I had him when I was 31 yrs. old!

My stepdad told me that he was pretty busy before he met my mom, and when he and my mom started getting serious he cut off all the other people via group chat. According to him some used choice words, some blocked him immediately, and even some lovely friendships had blossomed from it. 😂

One time I went to the pool and I saw someone I knew who was in my friends’ class who went to the same school as me. We didn’t really say anything to each other and we sorta just did our own thing when I got back my friends texted me something horrible... Apparently the girl I saw at the pool was in a group chat with my friends and the rest of their classmates and her friend group has a long history of not liking me; You Can probably see where this is going. She proceded to complain to everyone about how she HAD to swim with me (the pool was very big and we barely even acknowledged each other’s existence so I had no idea what she was talking about) and her friends were like OMGGG thats so terrible, and my friends being good friends of course told me and sent me screenshots of the messages I was confused because like, who talks crap about people in front of their best friends??? Because of course they are gonna tell them. So anyways I of course I make ANOTHER group chat but with just the people that were talking about me so I could confront them and I sent them a screenshot and asked about it and I KID YOU NOT one of them immediately responds with “Well now you’re talking about us” but in the end they did apologize and agree to stop being rude to me. So pretty much just if you’re gonna talk crap about people don’t do it in a group chat with their best friends.
I’d be careful of your friends. They stirred the pot. Hopefully they are serious about a truce. Otherwise, it’s best to talk to someone in these situations who are outside them.

Talking crap about someone seems kinda pointless .how do you not feel like a crappy person just talking crap? When you talk a lot of shit about some one, you are being a bad person. I think I got desensitized by this stuff as a kid. My ma has always been very sex positive and open about things. Unfortunately used to have me read her texts on the drive to school…the trauma has already been done so when this stuff happens anymore I don’t even flinch. So I don't have a group chat story, but every time you talked about the parents and like "we know their human but we really don't want to think about them doing that" thing it just reminded me the old room I used to sleep in, in my parents house.

Group chat led to two broken legs:
My bio uncle, bio aunt, aunts husband, mom and I went to concert. Aunt used the group chat during intermission between bands to get drinks. After a few minutes, I text in the chat if she needs help and get a yes. Step over bio uncle to get out. 15 minutes later and my bio uncle gets up because he remembers that she needs help but didn’t remember me leaving. Slipped and fell down the stairs. Both lower legs were fractured.
My 65 year old husband ALWAYS includes me with all the relatives and guys about shit they are planning to do on our ranch. I finally had my daughter teach her aged mother how to get out. I really, really don't want to hear about tractor and shredder repairs, new gates, whose cows are where etc. ad nausea um.

You’re not required to read them. My daughter got all butt hurt when we were moving to the area where she lives and all the conversations were in the group chat she wasn’t reading. I had to go back and send her screen shots. My son helped me find a place so that conversation was between us privately but all the rest: plans, dates, travel arrangements was in the group chat so she’d be looped in. She rarely responds to private messages either.
@@debshaw680 that is basically the other side of the coin. She just has her own habbits.....as unfortunate as some of them are you probably still cope with them simply because you love your daughter. But I leave you now to send everything twice again...once for everyone and a second time for your daughter😂 sorry for that light-hearted joke, but I thought humour might help...
Luckily most group chats can be muted 😅 (actually most of the time I have all notifications except calls muted... Try it if you haven't yet, I find my life has become better since I did this)

I only do a group chat during the holidays with my kids. That’s so they can communicate what and when they are able to get together. All my children are grown and married. They have to balance work and their spouses’ families as well. As long as we can get together it never matters what day. They know that’s the only time I will do a group chat. If I do any other time it not good news.
