How To Fix Android File Manager

- Let's show you how to fix Android's File Manager.
In this video, I walk you through the steps to fix when the File Manager on your Android phone or device isn't working. First, restart your phone and test if this solved the problem. If this doesn't work then go to Settings, Apps, and then File Manager. On some phones, it's called My Files or Files. Once you have opened Files, then click on Notifications, switch off Notifications, go backward 1 screen and click on the three dots at the top right and then Uninstall Updates. Test to see if the issue is resolved. If not, then while in the My Files app, scroll down and click on Storage and then Clear Cache. If this does not resolve the issue then go back to the main Apps list under Settings, click on the three dots at the top right, click on Reset App Preferences and then Reset.

NOT AT ALL ! I have a LG STYLO 6 Android version 10 and it won't work at all! WHY????????
The three dots that allow you to uninstall updates does not show up in my phone, pls help as this has been an annoying problem occurring to me... All solutions on youtube shows to do this yet as i said the three dots doesn't show up for me

Before I came here, files wouldn't actually show any of my files. Started _mostly_ working after the 'uninstall updates' bit, but even after going through all the steps, it still isn't showing all of the sub-folders (when it was working, it would show the folders in order of most recently updated).

My files shows incomplete download files which have been deleted. But that too in recents download tap. In the main storage directory no files are in the downloads folder. How to fix that?

That sounds unusual! It’s possible that the ringtone file is being added by a Facebook app update or another app that might be managing media files. Try checking your app settings or permissions to see if any app is automatically saving files to your storage

Mike at how to apps, I don't have this uninstall updates option and don't have reset app preferences either. My phone will only show an option to reset app preferences (all inclusive)! I have tried everything you mentioned and more. Not tried in safe mode, first need to figure out how that's done.

This fixed the issue for me, at least for now, when suddenly NO Gallery app on my phone could find ANY photos on it - Uninstall Updates for Files worked and they came back. Thank you!
When we enter the file, there is recent and how do we remove it so that it does not appear in the place that comes above the categories
