so... this guy never killed me... i died more times for the stupid gem in his chase through volk's ruins (klonoa and kirby would make for a great musou, don't fight me) than his boss fights and self destructive chase combined

Uhm... I'm pretty sure it's Biskarsh not Biscarsh. I've played and beaten Klonoa 2 so many times over.
