Watching your video on A Sunday is always enjoyable. You must be so proud of your home and are now able to enjoy it. Hope you manage moving the boxes for your daughter in the extreme heat, you never stop being a parent even when when the children are grown up . Have a lovely time with your family.
Hi Madeline thank You for your comment. It’s been a very hard day due to the heat but managed to empty her storage unit and even do some painting, we all worked well.
Thanks for a great update, the tiles and the bungs look really good and it's good to see that you two are doing well. Take care in this heat and all the best. Stevie
Well hello Fran and Marty loved the video you are doing great can’t wait to see the bathroom finished. Loved Frans white top with the tassels!!! Have great week. 😀👍🏻
Hi Ian, thanks mate, appreciate that. We not all whinnying about a few hot days, even if the media are all warnings and scare mongering. It’s hot yes, make some provisions. Hope you are ok there.
Hi Sharon, glad you enjoyed the video and the tiles, have to get on and finish those, hopefully tomorrow. Drank plenty today moving daughter to new house.
@@narrowboatmoonshine I feel sorry for you in this heat. I’ve just got back from taking my son up to Yorkshire and am sat in front of the fan with a cuppa lol. Hope all goes well with the move x
Morning guys, I can relate. Working and living in a construction site is all about attitude. Progress is impressive, with this weeks heat wave adjustments are a must. Take care of each other be cool!
Morning Kevin, yes it’s a constant exercise in moving stuff. Van is like our shed at the moment. Don’t really like that but that’s the way it is. We cracking on mate, as we always do. Moving daughter’s today, but luckily van has air con. We will mate, thanks for a great comment and your support.
Great to see more jobs getting done, tiles and the bungs look good. Stay cool over the next couple of days, bet it will be pretty hot in the steel tube, might need to find a suitable watering hole !! Cheers, Nigel
Hi Nigel, we have a few solutions in the fridge! Yes, pressing on, will need to get a fair bit done this week ready for Frans brother in two weeks. Boat isn’t too bad due to cream roof, use plenty of ventilation and cover windows during heat of the day. Should be fine, after all it’s just summer, we get these temperatures every few years.
Great Vlog. Love the bathroom tiles and the way you are able to make the cuts fit so perfectly Marty. I was listening to BBC Radio the other day in my car and heard you were going to have the hottest day ever, I believe it was supposed to be 40C. 🥵 Wow 😮 we have had virtually no rain in almost 3 weeks and hot, but luckily the nights are cool. Take care of yourselves. Hydrate and glad to see Fran back in good health. 🙏😊 Kathy
Hi Ruaidhu, thank you, glad you like the tiles, we love them too. Yea we are having the hottest day so far this year, we have managed to move his daughter into her new home, which is lovely 😊 a well deserved drink tonight and a cold shower was in order. 😊
Man that brings back memories. I redid our only bathroom with three little kids and the wife. The tile was hard for me to do for some reason, and a crack appeared about 6 months later. I hate doing tile. Looks good though.
Another great vid. Hope helping your daughter move today did not cause you too many problems. Lovely bathroom tiles, it’s coming along nicely. I got you a coffee(or beer or whatever) looking forward to next weeks vid already.
I'm surprised you could do any work inside the boat in the heat you are having over there. The tiles look terrific, good choice.👍 I hope the heat is less for moving day. Take care. Helen
Hi Helen, we saw 39 degrees while moving. Luckily hired van had air con. We survived, and we have drunk litres of water throughout the day. Back on the boat now. Tomorrow will be hotter so not sure how work will pan out there. Thanks so much for the great comment.
Love the Motorhead t-shirt! I've been a Hawkwind & Motorhead fan since the mid 1970s. Few people know who they are over here in the US, although Motorhead has a better chance of being heard on the radio here. Once you saw that you needed to lay the tile for the bathroom floor before making the access door for changing the toilet cassette, were you able to just cut a bit off of the top of the plywood you'd already cut to fit for the toilet & cassette? To me, fitting out a narrowboat looks a lot like doing a jigsaw puzzle; every piece has to fit perfectly, or there's more work involved. Cheers! Hoisting a few beers in your honor on this hot Sunday evening over on this side of the pond.
Hi Dan, which state you in? Yes love Lemmy, we’re we’re at The Rainbow a few years ago, sat in Lemmy’s bar. What a legend. I didn’t know the overall thickness if tile and Wedi board, so the only thing to do was lay it. I’ve just gotta skim 1/2” or so on the ply I cut, so that’s no bother really. You are spot on about a jigsaw, it’s much harder than kitting a house out. But, we’d rather have our boat. Good to hear from you.
Do I hear a Midlands accent?? The place looks very snazzy. I didn't realise this much effort went into having a functioning narrowboat. Great job mate 👍
Hi Shehran, yes you do. Pair of us are from the Blackcountry. Both born in West Brom, Fran grew up around Tipton and me Dudley/Blackheath. Trust me, a ton off effort is required, we built these videos to put people off lol. Cheers for that.
Another excellent vlog guys. Have now caught up and watched everything. Trouble is I’ve forgotten where I saw things so please forgive questions you’ve already answered previously. I’ve just taken delivery of my own sail away last Thursday into Bristol and have now sailed it to Foxhangers at Caen Hill. If you’re ever passing by car or boat, stop in for drinks, hookup, water refill, you can double breast as I’m on the cut. I’ve started the horrid task of trying to cut back the insulating foam, clearly sprayed on by a wannabe ghostbuster, as it’s everywhere!! What I was going to ask this video, is about drilling holes in the boat, in particular for sink or bathroom drainage, or roof glands for solar etc etc. Can you point me to the right or best type or brand of hole saw and any tips for doing it. Thanks guys. Hopefully Fran I’ll have a question for you one day!! Slainte.
Hi Sean, thanks for the coffees, bribery will get you anywhere. As far as cutters go Starret is #1, if you can ad some lubrication they will last longer. Tapping compound is best as it doesn’t fling so much as oils. Protect area with masking tape and have a magnet handy to get all the bits of dwarf as they will rust and east into the paint. Thanks for the coffees dude.
Getting there, getting there. Wondering if you're using a pre-built unit for the shower and you know I'm NOT going to insist on a demo of that and the loo. Unless you two insist.🙄 Take care in this heat- we've got it too in NY (not the city). Cheers.
I don’t comment often but I do look forward to every vlog you put out. You both really are doing a first class job finishing your home.
Thank you Jeff, you don’t have to comment, it’s nice when you do though. Glad you are enjoying the build videos.

He Stevie, hot ho today moving daughter. But we well hydrated and Van has air con thankfully. Next weekend will have a very long list of jobs.
Great vid again guys, the boat is looking brill 😎😊👍
Cheers Mark, glad you like it.

That was one of Frans charity shop buys, £2. As we have guests in two weeks, it will be busy busy this week.
Good job, young fella,,,,,the tiles, and indeed the boat look fantastic! As always, thank you from a blisteringly hot and humid Japan.

Thanks Keith, bloody red hot here today. Saw 39 degrees at one point. Hotter tomorrow! Better than the cold though. Thank you as always.

Thank you so much, really appreciated. Yes we got the job done on Monday. All good and glad Van had air con
Looking good;heat wave, is here too;stay hydrated and stay cool.
Warm there too? I don’t mind it generally, rather have heat than cold. Better by a pool with rum and coke though.
@@narrowboatmoonshine i like it .in the 70 range;can't wait for august and fall.
