Fully agree on composting we’ve had 2 farms and done lots of compost in a heap in the corner of a field unturned 5 yrs for a satisfactory result. My company worked in water and sewage treatment for 35 years. Even the old drying bed treatment now not used it had to be turned frequently. We have a pump out it suits us we have a small whale pump (95 quid) the tank lasts us approximately 1 month recently did a pump outs at Dunchurch Pools and Braunston Marina’s 16 & 15 quid respectively 👍👍 thanks for saying what we know. I would add a great deal of drugs and medicines people take do find a way through the body. 🖐🖐
Great video once again. I'm glad you've chosen to stick with the cassette toilet rather than go down the composting route. Regardless of the claims or otherwise, to my mind the latter seems like a step backwards into the dark ages. All the best.
Thanks for this great update and all your hard work is coming together as the boat looks great. I've never been able to get my head around the compost toilets and you've just proved to me that what I was thinking was right. It's really good to see that you are both doing well. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Thank you Steve. It certainly is coming together, but slowly or that’s how it seems to us, it’s so hard juggling things about to try and find money for the next project, but we will get there, at least it’s liveable. Lol
Hi I’ve got a Thetford for the camper van but we’ve bought a Cinderella for the narrowboat, an incinerator, not cheap but it’s been a game changer. Nothing at all to empty. Keep up the great Vlogs.
Hi Rivierdel, we love the Thetford it’s so easy to use and clean, to be honest we never really looked into the incinerator toilets, and I’ve never seen one either. But glad it works for you.
Great to see you on Moonshine again. We've had the Thetford cassette toilets in the past and pumpouts, but on our next boat, we're thinking of a cinderella toilet only because of ease. All you have to deal with is a little bit of Ash. The cassette toilets are great but you do need at least two cassettes
Hi Andrew yes you are right, we do have 2 cassettes to make life easier but it does suit us better. Cinderella toilet, yes that’s another good idea although I don’t know that much about those tbh.
I don't understand the hype around those toilets, We can't call them the C word as they don't! We were fished in as well, thinking eco, but we can't see one advantage now and we have had two of them. I would like someone to prove us wrong. Glad we helps in your decision Michael.
You did a great job with Toilet Talk. I don’t own a boat but I found it fascinating to hear about the composting toilets and pump outs versus the Thedford. I would definitely go for the Thedford. Your new camera worked great. And the editing was very nice. That was a nice looking breakfast you cooked. Sounds like the wedding plans are coming along nicely. Thanks for sharing. 😊🤗 Kathy
Hi Kathy, thank you again for your comment. You could honestly talk for hours about toilets on boats, we looked into most and after using the compost one that was certainly not gonna be the same on this boat. The wedding plans are going well, not much left to sort now, it’s so exciting 😁
Sorry to hear about your friend passing. Home is coming together nicely but I am a bit concerned about the curtains just behind your stove top and the possibility of them catching fire. Be safe you guys! Claudie/Texas
Seen a few of your videos now and you guys are just great together..very down to earth and practical. I think I'm going to go for the 40' Beetle as I think a 57' narrowboat might be a little too much boat for me. By the way, I think £60k for a 60' boat is excellent value for money! So sorry to hear about your friend but as you say..life goes on!!
Hi Steven, Ah thank you for your nice comment. I would think the prices have gone up since we had ours, I know he was saying the price of steel had increased massively. You’ll have to let us know how much the beetle is now also. Keep us updated 👍
@@narrowboatmoonshine Hiya, what I like about you two an the way you present your vlogs is the obvious love you have for each other (it’s like watching two teenagers!) Anyway, Aintree boats sent me a pdf this morning regarding the Beetle FabFour range with diagrams and prices! A fully-fitted 40’ Beetle is £68k
Hi Sharon, sorry for the delay, its been a bit manic. Thank you so much for your wonderful gift and letter it was great to read and thank you so much for the kind wishes. No Crick boat show this year, we only tend to go if we are looking for something particular. In fact we are covering the hire boats here over the bank holiday weekend and Lakeland leisure are there and some of our team are there. I already work for them part time and do all the electrics on site. Its nice to know your daughter enjoys the canals, and its good to involve them with what they enjoy. We have a wonderful grandson who is autistic and BTW, he loved seeing Oblivion go into the hole time after time. We all had a beautiful time and could not of asked for anything better. Alton Towers really looked after us.me and Fran go on everything, we Fran doesnt like drop towers or spinny things! We will find a picture suitable and display your gift pride of place. Thanks again so much. Mart & Fran xx
@@narrowboatmoonshine Pleased everything went well and you all had a lovely time. Glad the gift and card reached you ok. Hope you’re both managing to enjoy this lovely weather xx
I always wondered about how you deal with the wee on the separators as that's the real stink part. And it builds up fast. As the youngest (though big sister had had her turn. ) It was one of my jobs to empty gran's poe in the morning. Now that stinks!
Hi Glen, thank you for your comment. A compost toilet is not what it seems and we found it a nightmare to get rid of both. We are very happy with our cassettes now thou and live that we have a ceramic bowl for ease of cleaning too.
Just loving you guys and your show: thank you! I’m thinking of getting an Aintree 40ft Beetle Range narrowboat as a constant cruiser. How long is your boat and how much did you pay for it?
Hi Steven, cute boats the beetles 😊 Our boat is 60ft, and at the time I think we paid around £58k for our painted sail away. We had it from Aintree, great guys to deal with very down to earth.

Welcome back and fantastic to see Moonshine again.
Thank you Keith, nice to be back.
Great video once again. I'm glad you've chosen to stick with the cassette toilet rather than go down the composting route. Regardless of the claims or otherwise, to my mind the latter seems like a step backwards into the dark ages. All the best.
Thank you David, we certainly prefer the cassette.

Hi Claudie, thank you for kind words. Regarding curtains, we just dont use the back two burners with curtains closed, simple as that really.

I love your beautiful home. You must feel so proud of what you've done. You should do x
Argh thanks for the wonderful comment. We are I guess, would like to get all the bits finished no though.
Lovely to see another vlog, you've been missed. Glad things are coming along nicely for the wedding, not long to go now xx

Sounds like Guns n Roses live at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert in the background? x
Think it was Cazzy
