Tyler lying on a mattress in a garage with a sledge hammer, jacked up mannequin and chains on the floors reminds me of a scene from "Saw."
I know it’s a bit more expensive than what you normally review but I’d love to see you compare pressure washers. Far too many “stats” on pressure washers these days that don’t seem to translate into real life usage, such as “max PSI” etc. would be cool to see how the low spec big brands compare to the higher spec “no names”
ProjectFarm did a great pressure washer test video
Was Just about to say the same
Tylertube is more of the "Walmart version" of ProjectFarm in Gary's own words.. LOL
He literally spent $1000 on a knife sharpener for a video review, pressure washers would be really interesting to see
Projectfarm went into way too much detail for the average consumer on this one. I want to see a Tyler take…
how many layers of paper will it shoot through?
Can it cut?
How far away can you stand and still be able to write your name on something?
can a pressure washer use common household liquids as the detergent?
Maybe he can create a rig to put them up against eachother, Harry Potter and Voldemort style
Can you paint a fence using a pressure washer and water based paint? (Not sure if that last one is even safe! Lol)
I only discovered this channel by accident this morning. I'm mildly ashamed to admit I've watch hours of product reviews today. My cheeks hurt and I've gone through an entire box of tissues mopping up my tears from laughing. I also sent the channel link to my dad and got him hooked. Thank you!! 🤣

Air mattresses naturally go soft when first inflated until they "stretch" all the way. Until they have stretched, you can't fill them, so they feel like they are going flat.
@corey Babcock Why doesn't it make sense? If you read the instructions (crazy I know) of any air mattress, it will tell you the first few times it will go soft with use, but this does not mean it has a hole. Air mattresses are made of a semi stretchable material, so the first few times they are filled, they will stretch - which makes them bigger - and requires more air to fill them after they have stretched and every time after.
Good to see that even though he has a long running love for flex tape he wasn’t biased when testing it against a competitor, that’s why this dude is legit, a man of the people 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Definitely my favourite RUclipsr so chill and never a dull moment, on top of that my "i void warranties" shirt arrived 😎. Deserves so many more subs.
Tyler needs a bigger knife to open stuff. Hopefully Forged In Fire can get some guys together to help him out.

“Two inches might have been a bit ambitious”
That’s what she said 😂
💀
What if you tried putting the tape on, as the best you can, then turn the water on? Simulating turning off the water main, repairing with tape, and restarting the water. Probably still wont work, but it would give them the best chance possible.
yeah i would like to see this as well. still a great vid but was thinking this the whole time
Or you wrap it instead of one strip
Water takes the path of least resistance. With the intact pipe there's no path to take. If you had a weak joint or somewhere it'd leak, but other than that the thick walls of the pipe can hold a lot of pressure so the water doesn't go anywhere until the pressure builds up high enough to stop new water coming in. (Because water doesn't really compress)
That being said, introducing a weak point, I.E.: a hole, reduces the amount of pressure it can take. Anything you repair that hole with has to be able to withstand the maximum pressure of your water source. So if your house has normal water pressure of 45-80 psi (roughly 310-550 kPa) then any repair would have to be able with withstand that, and I don't think the adhesive on flex tape, alien shield, duct tape, flashing tape, or any other kind of tape alone is going to be enough to withstand those pressures. Usually they use pipe clamps as a temporary measure until a permanent fix (that is, replacing the pipe), can be accomplished.
So even in this "best case scenario" you might buy an extra second or two before catastrophic failure.
@@DisIntegratedLife I get what you are saying, but if I can kink a hose with just my hand, then I think a roll of duct tape would easily get the job done. If it's just one piece of tape I would bet you are right, but ten layers? twenty? I bet would hold easy.
@@jonathanpuccetti9258 I tried it, even with several wraps the water finds a way lol
Literally called it as he cocked back to to slap the flex tape I love this man and his videos
The air mattress at 15:05 is not leaking its stretching. when you get a new air mattress your supposed to blow it up and let it stretch for 48 hours.
how do you let it stretch, do you put a weight on it?
@@dakotagarza402 fill it up to max every few hours
@@dakotagarza402 just fill it up with air.
The plastic/rubber slowly stretches after you fill it, and so the air pressure inside lowers when makes it feel like it is going flat.
Just reinflate it to full a couple times over the course of a day or so.
The more you know
I love seeing these videos with Flex Tape. One suggestion though, can you add some food coloring to the water? That would make it much easier to see if the tape leaks.
Great idea!
Air mattresses need a constant fill up when you first buy them they stretch in beginning,, read the pamphlet that came with them should say it on it🧐
Come on, it's Tyler, you think he's going to read the pamphlet. Real men don't read directions.
You're talking about the same person that held a 45 pound disk over his feet.
a few full wraps on that pipe with the pressure off will seal the pipe, probably with either of those
i was thinking the same
if I remember correctly, there was a flextape commercial of someone wrapping the tape all the way around a leaking pipe
But this would limit the applicability of these test results to objects you can wrap all the way around.
Watching Tyler roll around on a blow up mattress in a garage with chains on the ground felt a little hostage-ish 😆😆
$7 for one roll of Alien Shield or $15 for one roll of Flex Tape? Alien Shield is slightly better because it doesn't flex like Flex Tape, but has a worse tape glue on it. My guess would be the glue is much cheaper to make, which is why Alien Shield is cheaper.
And he didn't do a time test to determine how long each one held up, nor did he do a pull test to see how much weight each one would hold. I'm throwing the challenge flag on that call.
New air mattresses stretch. So even if there was no leak, you still might end up on the floor. Just an idea. Maybe?
I was thinking the same thing. The first like 5 times you inflate an air mattress you wake up touching the floor. After that, they should be normal.
Most air mattresses come with a little paper saying "your mattress is not leaking, its stretching" and goes to tell you about the first few uses they stretch
God im always so happy when Tyler uploads. He's literally my favorite content creator.

Heck yes, another Tyler video. Any video you do is entertaining. Especially before bed
You're review of the grilled cheese toaster was awesome. I bought one after your review and love it!!
I think the biggest flaw with the water test usually that water has somewhere else to go
I agree. A pipe doesn't just end and because super pressurized like that, it keeps flowing
@KINGMcCOY95 I don't understand your premise. Where does your water go if you have all the outlets turned off?
@@william_mac well yes but why wouldn't you open them to a drip to release the pressure I would never try to temperarly fix that with tape of any kind of it had all that pressure everything except maybe a band with a curved price of metal would fail with that pressure
@@kingmccoy9526 Okay I got you. In reality we know where the shut off valve is, thus depressurizing then fix your leak. I think Tyler just wanted to see if the tape was something extraordinary. It's not.

Following since day one. Keep doing you! I enjoy all your stuff.
Love your videos so relaxing helps me sleep
I think that flex tape may work better with more than one layer. Still, the alien tape seems just as good and it's clear so it looks awesome too.
4:34 someone sample this please
Tyler I’ve watched most of your videos and immediately click on new ones when I see it and I’ve come to realize that you’re basically a funnier project farm. Love the content brother keep it up! Maybe a q&a or some vlogs would be cool! Stay humble man
Project Farm is also much more technical and we know nothing will happen to him. Usually I wonder if Tyler is going to lose a foot (today) or if he will kill himself.
Thank you for posting this video I literally have four air mattresses because we just keep buying them because they get holes and we can’t find the hole or patch it right but I’m going to try the alien shield and see how it works
Sweet test, and love all of your videos. I didn’t expect either of the tapes to pass the pressurized pipe test even with different diameter holes. Pressure is pressure, and the pipe was going to eventually pressurize to your well pump or domestic water pressure regardless of the size of the hole. But it was a great proof of concept!
You gave me an idea with the tapes holding air pressure. I have a hole in my air hose and I have masking tape on it concurrently. It's sealing it pretty well but I'd like a tighter seal. I'll try alien tape and see how it holds up under time and lots of pressure. Thanks for the idea.
I was planning on buying one of these "just in case" but couldn't decide which one was best. I liked the Alien tape because it's clear but didn't see any other differences. Until Tyler Tube came to the rescue! 👍🏾
Just a thought on the water pressure one: it would be interesting to see if the tape would hold were you to apply the tape dry and then turn on the water. It may just be that the tape needs to set to hold water pressure, and this would simulate turning off the water main before putting the tape on a damaged pipe.
Came here to say this
Not just that, the side of the tape the water was pouring of out had very little surface area to adhere to. More even surface area should make a better bond.
Typical household pressure is 45-80 psi (310-550 kPa), the tape's adhesive would need to contain that much pressure at a minimum in order to stop the leak. I'm not convinced that even wrapping it around several times would necessarily be enough. Not enough certainly to last any appreciable amount of time. You'd need to turn off the water and go down to the hardware store and buy a pipe clamp to put a true temporary fix on it. Ultimately any hole in your pipes weakens the overall strength of the pipe and can cause a much larger blow-out down the line if not replaced. I'm not sure why flex tape would tout itself as that sort of repair in the first place, as no repair made with flex tape is going to be lasting. And I would think that demonstrating it "fixing" a leaking pipe in their infomercials would open them up to liability if someone were to sue for damages caused by trying to use it in such a manner.
@@DisIntegratedLife I agree entirely with your statement. Looking further at this, it is possible that it would work for a low pressure household application though, say for a leaking sink drain or gravity return, just not for the supply line.
Amazing video as always

Just to let you know air mattress tend to stretch and then seem less filled so you could have been feeling that instead of air leaking on the alien shield tape
The exotic things he uses to open boxes throughout this channel is hilarious.

Yay! Flex is back.

Finally a tape video!!!!
I've actually used the normal alien tape, the double-side stuff, and it's really good. I'd like to see a video of you testing out different double-sided tapes, and use Alien tape in it!
11:40 - when she sees my yugioh card collection
the pressure doesnt change, the velocity does. if you increase the hole size then the pressure will lower until the water can freely flow, but when you seal the hole the pressure will always be the same. having a smaller hole would be easier to seal because the static pressure will be the same but the hole surface area will be smaller, resulting in a smaller total force from the water. instead you could have had the hole of a set size with a valve in the end cap of the PVC, and the slowly closed the valve which would increase the pressure gradually until failure. you could also try to apply the tape and then turn the water on with this method.
Anyone else trying to stop laughing after watching Tyler roll around on the flex tape mattress 😂
Tyler I like what you did but why was the Alien Tape and Flex Tape not hooked up to the crane scale to show us the strength comparison between the two; or left outside in the weather to show the durability of the two. Don’t get me wrong if you say one is stronger I’ll believe you, but you didn’t show us (in my opinion) crucial testing to prove that one is better than the other.
Neither did he let them both hang to see which one holds longer, so his findings don't count.
I wouldn’t say they don’t count because he did show some evidence towards Alien Tape being as good as Flex Tape just inconclusive towards the entire argument.
"mom can we get a Tyler?"
"we have a Tyler at home"

Love your content my friend. You’re pretty good at this stuff !!! I’m going to go back to smoking my blunt and finishing up this video now
Great content as always! The tape did hold the water pressure decently well. I wonder how many times you would have to wrap the tape around the pipe to stop it completely. I feel like that's how many people would use it anyway. Maybe a test for another video? *crosses fingers*
I've used that sort of tape for patching pool leaks, and the trick is to get it to stick ASAP. Once you push all the water out from under the tape and its fully on, shit works nice
so a while ago my hot water side of the faucet for my bathtub had broke, so i didnt really care, then as i tried to turn it on the entire piece fell out and water started spraying so hard it was hitting the wall, it was carving chunks into my skin as i was holding it, telling my mother to go to the basement and turn off the water, had a breakdown from it, lol. you cant stop that shit, with anything. its like an open fire hydrant.
I’m gunna call shenanigans on that….60 psi or water pressure will by no means “carve chunks of your skin out” lol…I’d say that’s a tad bit dramatic
it would be really fun to watch you play horror games. Also was really hoping you would upload again soon so I appreciate it love the videos
I think the tapes on the pipes didn't work cause you didn't slap them on to the pipe hard enough 🤔
Tyler I just seen a video about flex seal, they put it on a tile and replace that tile underwater in a pool. Maybe a good test is seeing different glues strengths against water? I can't remember if you have done one similar before or not 😁
Bro the preasure of the water adds up because its dead end of course it aint stopping it.
Bust Bust? 🤣 Good Stuff!
Yes yes yes my Saturday night is complete thank you Tyler
Yes tape video lol these videos are interesting 🤔
Alien stuff doesn't use classical adhesives, but has a property like gecko pads -- a patterning of the surface that is like zillions of suction cups, kinda sorta. It's not surprising you're finding the nature of the products different.
Thanks!

Being an adult can wait.
Thank you Tyler, I can now claim the fire as accidental and you've saved me from a long drawn-out divorce.
2 birds with one Tyler.
Note to Tyler: every time u rub a tape where there is a leak u stretch out the material making it hard to hold onto the surface as the more stretched out it is the less dense the adhesive is in that location.
Simply love Tyler, would be a great friend to hang out with. Content is also fun as hell.

Try out wrestling mat tape. It’s similar looking to the alien tape I wonder how it would compare in water and other tests.
Well you just sold me on alien shield. Thanks for saving me tons of money!!!

“The might of Zeus” hahahaha Jon Tron reference
Not sure how it would compare, but I’m sure it would be close:
“Zip System Flashing Tape” would be a great competition with the line-up.

One of very few youtubers that seem to stay down to earth. Soon a mil subscribers, you deserve every single one of them, Tyler 👍
Ps! Im still trying to get him to shave his beard just once, if this comment gets 100 likes, he might do it 🥳
A house pipe isn’t constantly under pressure. Only when the pump is on which is when you turn your faucet/hose on or shower which wouldn’t build pressure as it would be flowing out of the faucet.
Unless you have well water there is no pump, and the pipes are under constant pressure.
I think the main problem here is the method of application, a small strip of tape with little surface area to grip obviously isn't gonna hold all that well with a pressurized pipe. Wrapping the pipe in multiple layers however works perfectly, as not only does it have more surface area to grip but it is then also able to grip onto itself as you wrap it around. You've only seemed to show that you shouldn't use an amount lesser than what is necessary, rather than how well it works when properly applied
The tape won't hold the hole shut on the PVC because there has to be another hole for the excess water to go to. Plumbing systems are sealed but are connected and do not just stop
Tyler the tape god
Tyler do you also use a bazooka to kill a fly? I love the using a sword to open a box.
That last test was hilarious lol. Not only does the alien shield tape seal the hole perfectly - the sealed hole is MORE SECURE than the air mattress's OWN FITTINGS lmfao
An air mattress holds less than 1psig of air and typical water pressure is 40-60psig so it makes sense why the tape held one and not the other.
All the knives Tyler has showed us from battle box and things like that and he still prefers the katana in any situation that requires a knife lol
I wonder if all his friends and family members get knifes as gifts on the regular 😂😂
"Two inches might have been a little bit ambitious."
Thank you for that confidence boost.
My father loves flex tape, most pipes under our beach house is metal he uses it for when it leaks. You should try it on a smaller pipe!
Since you reviewed something that was specific to alien shield on flex seal, you should do a flex seal specific test- likeeee- repairing a boat :))
