Order placed - glad to support an entrepreneur. The biggest gap in the market is for pre-grouping goods brake vans - more complicated, I know, but I'd certainly be willing to pay a premium price because, well, you only need one for each train! Just pick ones that already have RTR locos, such as North British Railway, Caledonian Railway, North Eastern, LNWR, etc.
Thank you so much Andrew, bless you for that! Yes a brake van would be fascinating - I'll definitely look into that... it'd certainly be more costly to make, but I don't think impossible! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Sam, the advent shorts are being uploaded at 3 a.m. my time... I'll be watching them in the morning I guess. Looks like you and Chloe had a fun time filming the first one. Does that mean Chloe will be visiting the loft every single day or do you film them in advance and open several days in a row? Where did you buy the Brio advent calendar? I would choose the cute little Christmas briefcase over chocolates any time. Not really a big fan of eating snacks to be honest. :)
Ahh sorry for the odd time for you then - feel free to save them up for the next day haha! I got the Brio calendar from Rails :D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Stellar job Sam, wow. Yeah, resin printing does come very close to manufacturing standards actually. There are quite some enthusiasts these days offering loads of accessories and rolling stock in the form of 3D files one can print themself, ready to go. From catenary prototypical per country to all kinds of stuff such as station trolleys, bicycles, crates, fences, lamp posts, houses..., the lot. Surely, at one point someone offering bobo locos or even steamers isn't far away, if not already happening. Well, you've been venturing yourself in that particular area of course. Quite the addition to the hobby ! Cheerio.
It would be really awesome if you would sell some of these wagons unpainted and unassembled in slightly larger quantities! I’d really enjoy building and painting some of those
Great wagons Sam, ordered some, thanks. Would love to see a pre-grouping brake van with physical weathering. If a manufacturer doesn't start doing physical weathering soon you'll need a bigger attic.
Sam, the big companies should take note, these are incredible models, especially the physical weathering! You're leading the industry now, iust incredible👍 Zach
Just brought the Furness wagon, looking forward to get it. Hearing you on about building and painting them just wondering if you ever thought about doing them as unbuilt kits? Myself personally who does pergrouping would love to have a short wheel base wagon kit which I could customise and doesn't full apart. Even if you do them with out wheel and hooks I think people would by them and most people who know who you are probably wouldn't mind waiting on orders
I just came back to your channel after a bit and I'm so happy you got a resin printer! I remember some of your first models and these are so fantastic!
Thank you!! It's a process I'm trying to refine - it's all stencilled, but the stencils are crazy complex... the most difficult part of the design process in fact! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
ive got an idear for 3D printing broad gauge but to custem broad gauge track to scale with 00 so you chould have narow gauge standard gauge and brord guge all next to eachother at about the right size
These look phenomenal! As a pre-grouping N gauge modeller, I'm jealous of the OO folks at the moment; any chance of these or similar in N someday? No worries if not, I'm genuinely just incredibly impressed with how far you've come with your 3D printed models :))
I’d love to see your templates, I enjoy doing wagon and coach kits but really struggle with the decals, on a side note, I’d love to see you have a go at the GCR bogie fish vans, only option is a brass kit which is beyond my basic model making skills, gives you a chance to try some Bogies before tackling a coach…
Very impressed with your CAD skills, especially the weathering. I think you need to include a Sam's Trains logo in the "mouldings" and get some form of design registration or production licence on the screw box. Those box vans in TT120 would really go well. Any chance of couplings 3D printed in clear resin?
These look great Sam. Have you tried scaling down any of them to n gauge? I only model in n and would happily buy bodies to fit on a proprietary chassis.
Hi Sam, just bought the van, as the previous 2 plank wagon I have was so brilliant! Keep up the excellent job mate! Can't wait to see.and run it. Hope you and Chloe have a good week! 👍👍👍
Sam, don't doubt yourself, I would bet most people who have bought your products in the past would say they are on par or better value than the big manufacturers and the profits you get go to make things better for you and the channel not to someone's 3rd private yacht
A committed 'amateur' tends to output better quality than profit-motivated 'professionals' . Resin means choklit.. right? Physical distress is perfect!
I made two separate transactions DURING this video, and Etsy (or you) magically combined them and refunded the extra shipping. Outstanding job. BTW please combine today's items with the previously held items and send 'em all. I have to wrap for a Christmas present to meself early enough to forget what's in the box.
Im gonna buy a 3d printer for myself for christmas so i can make my own wagons too. You inspired me. Im also gonna work on making plastic wheels that arent a pain with em
Just brought some, out of interest what printer are you using and could you do a video of you going through the desing and printing process. I've done a touch of resin printing, but you are getting very reliable results it appears and I could do with that. Cheers, Jim
Amazing work as always! Im glad to hear that the resin held up to that wheel of torture! Ive been wanting to make custom models for a long time and seeing your videos was the kick I needed. What kind of resin are you using? I've been using ABS-like resin, but I haven't experemented with other kinds.
Thanks so much - yeah I was very pleased by how hard the resin turned out to be! I use plant based resin because it's less fumey! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I said it last year and I’m going to say it again you should review the Lionel O gauge lion chief +2.0 Polar Express model this year it is a nice model for what it is. I think you would appreciate it.
Debating getting one of these and doing a bit of math to figure out the proper weight, since the cars won't be near scale weight, and adding weight to them.

so. I read this as pre-grouping baked goods vans....
That screw box is genius, im sure people who repair things would be interested.

Second that. These would make a great kit :)
Patent pending on that screw box I hope Sam..... clever design......💰👍
Yes, sell the design to DCC Connection so they can charge 35 quid for each.
Great vdeo. The sorting box is a very clever design.
Thank you so much!
How about a 2 person see saw maintainence cart ?
Even stationary in a siding would look great. 🤓
Nice stuff Sam well done 👍.
Hi Sam, have you considered making shunters wagons from some of the northern railways, more interesting than the GWR ones. 😊
Great wagons Sam, ordered some, thanks.
Would love to see a pre-grouping brake van with physical weathering.
If a manufacturer doesn't start doing physical weathering soon you'll need a bigger attic.
Really neat! Would you ever consider trying to make wagons in n gauge?
Thank you so much! Yes I would - I'm thinking about it!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I’ve been using an artist’s paint palette tray for screws when taking loco’s apart, however a lid would be useful.
Amazing Job Sam. These look amazing. Very great work.
Thanks so much Stan! :D
All you need to do now, is add sprung buffer's.
I’ve just ordered one of the models and I can’t wait to get it. Would you ever think about selling locos?

If that guy "Sam" ever does a review of your wagons, he's gonna give you heck about the lack of sprung buffers!
(That's humor, son.)
Brilliant Sam! I fully expect to hear you get a design gig at either Accurascale or IKEA hahah!

Can you upload another review of the bluebell p class from accurascale on Wednesday?
I'd love to Kenji - yes hopefully soon!

Any way to buy the files for the screw box instead? Shipping internationally is expensive but a download and a bit of resin / filament isn't.
Very impressive, Sam. Your wheels look good quality. Solid 👍
Just ordered, very unusual and nice models!
Awesome work Sam! Everything looks spectacular, well done

Did you check out the new bachmann n scale Gordon
How about a reprint of your era 1 rolling stock? I missed out last time because I was on holiday.
I'm turning my head to that next - the era 1 wagons will be back next year plus new additions!

11 out of 10 Sam 👏
