The PLX-CRSS12 generates a DVS timecode signal internally so you don’t have to use a timecode record. Controlling it requires the Magvel clamp to lock any record to the control spindle. By having an internal DVS timecode signal, this eliminates noise and interference from using a needle as well as avoiding needle wear. Because it is a timecode signal, you can even use the CRSS12’s DVS control on older versions of Serato that support DVS. And because there is no wireless device, there is no issue of battery life.
