Dam failures have to be the most dramatic disaster there is, but few people recognize it. This video went beyond entertaining, to impactful. Fantastic storytelling and videography. There's another very nice RUclips account of the recent Edenville Dam failure on the Tittabawassee River, just a bit northeast of you. This video makes me think about our overall aging infrastructure. The bridges I kayak under sometimes look pretty sketchy. 😬 I’m glad I’m seeing more bridges mended and replaced.
Thank you for showing the pictures and the title of the book I would like to get a copy to read I just saw a story on the Austin Dam Break on Mysteries of the Abandoned on the Discovery channel and I came to You tube to see other stories about it and your's is the first one I saw
Great historical video! I wonder how long it took them to clean up the mess and how many men. I'm thinking not that much machinery in 1911. I thought you added the siren to the video, LOL

The amount of energy that is stored in something so simple as water is incredible.
This was very interesting throughout! I was fascinated by the white tile in the mill
Yeah, me too. It seems that was installed to help the pulp move through the process.

Where is the water now?
And the papers want to know who's shirts you wear, er, I mean the dogs want to know who's shoes you wear?
Don't get smacked in the face by that brush... ;-)
