    When it comes to playing songs, it’s all on you. My mama made me play on one that just has notes, no voice to help me. I said “No, I want this. I learned ‘You Say’ on this thing!” So, I’m thanking you for teaching me how to play “You Say” (well, only the intro & 1st verse, but still) and I’m learning this song now!
    Thanks,
    Brooke

    Was that effect added only to some parts of the recorded piano sound?

    • @HDpiano
      @HDpiano  4 года назад +1

      In this lesson, Devon used it for the first 30 seconds. In the song, I believe the effect is on the piano track throughout, but I could be wrong. What do your ears hear? - Luke

    • @jaravad
      @jaravad 4 года назад

      @@HDpiano Hi, thanks for answering, yes, I guess it was added after recording the piano track

    • @Panos-Veria
      @Panos-Veria 4 года назад +1

      @@jaravad I guess It depends.If you record on a DAW (Cubase,Fl studio etc) let's say with a midi keyboard, yes you could add it later along all the other sound effects.
      But if you are playing live with a synthesizer or a keyboard with accompaniments(styles) you can added it and hear it while you are playing.
      You can set the values of it's volume to slowly fade out and set it's tempo to match with the bpm of the song.
      Actually a keyboard allows you also to set values of 4ths,8ths,16ths etc notes to it so it can always keep up with the beat you have chosen for a song.
      Of course you can add this effect only to one sound (when the combination of sounds are more than a piano sound) while other sounds can have other types of effects in the same time for a nicer audio result.
      Nice tutorial also!.

    Is there some kind of faint background rhythm track playing in the first 20 seconds where Devon plays the main riff? Or am I hearing things?

    • @jgpix1

      I know he was talking about the sidechain compression...but is that like a setting on the instrument?

    • @dancollinsandapiano
      @dancollinsandapiano 5 лет назад +3

      John Gaughan - not a setting as much as it’s a plugin, but yes that’s side-chain compression! Fun!
