Trollfjorden - Lofoten and Vesterålen

Trollfjorden is a 2 km long sidearm of Raftsundet, between the Norwegian archipelagos of Lofoten and Vesterålen.
Trollfjorden is a very popular place to visit in the Northern part of Norway, and is often visited by Cruise vessels, Hurtigruten and other vessels.
The mouth of the Trollfjord where it joins the Raftsund is only 100 meters wide. The fjord widens in the bottom to a maximum width of 800 meters. The mountains around Trollfjord are between 600 - 1100 meters high. It is surrounded by Trolltindan (1084 m.) in the south and Blåfjell (998 m.) and Litlkorsnestinden (980 m.) in the north. The deepest point in the fjord is 72 metres.

PARTS OF THE HOLLYWOOD MOVIE DOWNSIZING, IS FILMED IN TROLLFJORDEN (released 2017).
In August 2016 there will be a filming of a movie called "Downsizing" in Trollfjorden. This film will be directed by Alexander Payne and has actors like Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz, Jason Sudeikis, Alec Baldwin, Neil Patrick Harris, Rolf Lassgård and many more.
This is a Paramount Pictures movie.
THE BATTLE OF TROLLFJORDEN
"Trollfjordslaget" was fought in 1890 between the first industrial, steam-driven fishing ships and teams of traditional open-boat fishermen over access to the fjord. Johan Bojer described the battle in his 1921 novel The last of the Vikings (Den siste Viking).
