Thank you for speaking up against unnecessary surgery on children.
Just like partial emasculation (circumcision) on boys it needs to be stopped.

Unnecessary surgery on children should include gender reassignment. Let puberty hit first before you let your child make life changing decisions. Puberty blockers are child abuse.

@@whoaretheyhiding798 puberty blockers are harmless. Once you go off of them puberty will resume as normal. All it does is let them wair until they are old enough to make the decision about how they want to present themself and not make them go through unecessary pain about their body and identity

You see, even people that are intersexed don't think sex reassignment surgeries are good for children. They can cause physical problems for the children and they ae irreversible. The UN considers it torturous mutilation to do sex change surgeries on intersexed children.
Yet, here in the USA, and in some other countries, people randomly change the sex of their children because it is trendy. They always claim it's the children's choice, but many of these children are being transitioned into the other sex as toddlers and even infants. They can't even speak properly yet, so how could they choose their sex? Older children, like Kindergarteners and children in older grades are at least asked if they want to change their sex or not, and some of these children might say they want to transition and take hormones and get surgeries, but they are minors and don't always make the best long term choices. That's why children aren't allowed to consent to getting tattoos and piercings, or to having sex and getting married; and why they aren't allowed to buy cigarettes or drink alcohol, or make any other health decisions for themselves. Yet, we are allowing them to make irreversible changes to their bodies?!
I don't understand why people can change the physical characteristics of children, even toddlers and infants, through hormones and surgery that are supposedly "transgender" when we can't really be certain that their invisible souls are a different gender than they were assigned at birth based off of the visible, physical sexual characteristics that were not intersexed, but obviously male or female. If persons that are visibly both, or neither, sex don't believe surgery of children like them is appropriate, then why would it be appropriate to do these surgeries on children that have one distinct sex as far as we can see? Personally, I think our bodies determine our sex, and it is impossible to have your soul trapped in the body of the wrong sex, because I think our souls are sexless.
If gender and sex are two different things anyway, then why must a person change their physical body to match the gender they identify with? Also, if an intersexed person can lead a healthy life with the body parts they were born with, why should anyone change them without permission, or pressure them to change their bodies to make themselves look more like any of us? I find that insensitive, rude, and honestly disgusting.
If an intersexed person needs surgery for health reasons (such as a child having testicles removed from his abdomen so they don't become cancerous) than that procedure should be done for the child's health. Also, if an intersexed person decides her or she wants to undergo surgery to be just one sex that is fine as long as the person made the decision himself or herself (preferably the person would be legally an adult). But, if an intersexed person is happy with their body, DON'T try to make them change it! It's their body, and it's healthy, and they should be accepted like they are.
Since we can't see with our own eyes whether or not a person's soul is in the wrong body, I don't think any minor should be able to have a sex change operation, not even teenagers. I think only adults should be allowed to change their sex if they consider themselves transgender. Intersexed people that have surgeries aren't really changing their sex, they are just enhancing one aspect of their sexual characteristics and downplaying the other to feel they conform to the societal norms of the gender they identify themselves with more closely, so I can understand a parent allowing a preteen or teenager that is intersex to take hormones or get surgery if the child really is distraught with having intersexed characteristics make them noticeably different from others (but, I don't even think smaller intersexed children should make important choices about changing their bodies like that). But, since a transgender person's body isn't obviously different than a person with the sexual characteristics of one sex, they just feel their personalities don't match their physical sex, I can't see a good reason to not wait to change their sex until they are adults.
Caitlyn Jenner isn't a good role model for children. She teaches people that if you aren't completely comfortable in your own body to not work on your self-esteem issues, but to try to hormonally and surgically change you appearance because the way you look on the outside is most important. Caitlyn teaches people we should have stereotypical and superficial views of how men and women should be, and you need to physically change yourself in order to make your body appear to fit the gender mold better. Caitlyn doesn't help people see that if they are already uncomfortable with themselves when they have functional, sexually distinct bodies, they probably won't be happy with themselves after they have paid money for dangerous surgeries that only make them seem like an artificial, knockoff version of the opposite sex. Caitlyn teaches people to be ashamed of who they are and to lie about who they are and to try to force others to accept your lie through bullying people through making them feel they are guilty of bigotry if they don't play along with her lie.
Conversely, This model is a good role model for teaching children to love their bodies and being proud of who they are without feeling the need to conforming to other people's standards of what is normal and/or beautiful. Hanne Gaby is someone courageous for being brave enough to tell her story and help others to have better self-acceptance and pride in who you are. She proves that individuality, uniqueness, and authenticity can be beautiful! We should all strive to be as honest, and as accepting of ourselves and others as she is.

This is a whole lot of mess you just typed out, I take it you aren't apart of the T or I community in lgbt. Caitlyn Jenner isn't a good role model for a whole lot of reasons, being transgender isn't one of them. You're right that on a surface level it seems that intersex people wish for their bodies to be left alone and transgender people want to change their bodies. Well actually it's a lot more complicated than that. Instead view it as that intersex and transgender people want is to have CONSENT to what is being done to their bodies. Being born intersex a doctor will assign a gender for you, more often than none the doctors get it wrong, and they perform invasive irreversible surgeries. It just so happens that Hanne is comfortable with being who she is which is great(look up transgender intersex people). I don't know of many transgender people advocating for surgeries for children. Im only aware of the german pop singer who got GRS at age 16 being the youngest. A lot of transgender people also dont get surgeries and are perfectly comfortable. Hormone therapy is necessary to begin before 18 if possible because the younger you start the higher chances you have of passing and passing = a better quality of life. Its ok to be transgender, its ok to be intersex. These groups of people make up less than 4% of the population.
On that note cissexual people aren't new to changing their appearance. nose jobs, boob jobs, birth control, anti depressant, laser hair removal, make up. These are all things that people use to alter their physical or hormonal being. None of these things are bad. The important thing is that people have consent to do these things, and have access to do them safely. That is Hanne's message's I believe. I hope this message finds you well.
