There is something about the plaintiff I find very disturbing and disgusting . There is something about her demeanor and the fact she took in a child to help her then come on national tv and call her a deadbeat basically and embarrass her . Clearly the stains on the mattress is period Stains , I know that all to well and she was a minor for a while in her home , a teenager . I just find this to be iky. I don’t like it. I don’t see a world where I bring someone in to help them , then sue them for minor damages and “rent “ for 3 months . It’s just wild to me
Those stains will come out using peroxide and baking soda. No need to buy a new mattress. The defendant should have cleaned the mattress before she moved out.
I agree something is off
Thanks for the perspective. Deeper than I thought about it, but I think you have a great point. Yes, just embarrass her on national TV for stains on the mattress. Disturbing and disgusting.
@@I_am_enigma53I'm guessing she didn't know how to clean it and was too embarrassed to ask.
this woman is pathetic and petty. her drug addicted son hates this young girl because she won't give him the time of day
I agree. I think she's taking her frustration with him out on her.
The plaintiff girl is his sister and he was together with the defendant which is why the mom took her in
I still don't understand why the plaintiff labels the defendant 'extremely disrespectful.' It looks like the damage was cause by her menstrual cycle, not a raging house party or careless behaviour. It happens. It sounds like the plaintiff's drug-using son is much more disrespectful than this houseguest.
I was about to say the same thing
Also, the defendant was so poorly spoken, she could not articulate what might have really happened.
I don't think the little girl is a bad person. She is young. What happened to the mattress, is something that happens to many of us females. However, she is responsible for that. Maybe this is a lesson learned for her, but she doesn't seem bad.
What I dont understand is why the plaintiff wouldn’t have a washable mattress cover.
@@janetmccoy7945 Right?! I can't believe she got the full price of the mattress from that young girl.
Agreed
Agree
I have ALWAYS kept plastic mattress protectors on my mattresses.
Maybe you should "clean" your own house before taking in other people's children.
I wouldnt have given the plaintiff anything. She knew the girl had no money and was young. And she had girl sleeping on that mattress over a year. She should have replaced that anyway or use some baking soda and move on.
She seems like a nice young lady. Not disrespectful, arrogant, or unappreciative. I think the mom is taking her frustration with her drug-addicted son out on her. That's why she's being so petty.
Plantiff took in a minor to help her and now calling her deadbeat on national T.V and airing the poor girls dirty laundry. Plaintiff is on of those church ladies we all know about.
the defendant agreed to go on national TV
Judge Judy is allowing the defendant to have her belly out in court and that's surprising
I no😮
Maybe the shirt rode up.
I was going to say the same thing. 😳
belly button
not tummy ...
her " belly " wasnt out
🙄@@sunnystormy4973
The girl's parents should be paying the plaintiff for taking care of their daughter while she was still in highschool.
For real though!
how is a stained mattress damaged? theres much more nasty stuff in a mattress that comes from the human body than just some stains. poor girl doesnt seem like a bad girl at all. not arguing. even left the house when the son came around to not cause trouble. i feel as if she said she could stay with her but then decided to charge her after some time
I don’t know why the mother put the daughter out. But my heart goes out to her 😢
That old lady is a character 😂 no wonder her son doesn’t even want to talk to her
she doesn't want drugs in her house. i guess in 2024 that makes her a bad person..... eyeroll
I bet the son messed it up because the defendant won't sleep with him
only women bleed silly
I would agree except that that’s blood on the mattress
that's a random assumption to make LOL
@@shay3519 It could be wine, or grape juice.
that’s some high projection there friend
"LET'S CHANGE It to nothing." Best line in this episode.
😂😂😂
“This damage to the mattress that I’m looking at is not damage that the son caused…” JJ stay slick 😂 they ain’t have to show those pictures smh
Right??! Nasty but also quite embarrassing for the poor young girl. She should have tried to clean it though.
My first thought. Judy is such a lady.
She was on her cycle that's what the stains are on the mattress
That's exactly what I thought!
I think JJ understood that too
I was trying so hard to convince myself that it was wine but realized the defendant is too young to drink.
@@RayMon504 haha🤣
Eww 🤢
I feel sorry but respect the defendant. She is a good kid. The plaintiff is a pain in the neck.
I don't think those pictures needed to be shown. I felt second hand embarrassment for the defendant. Judge Judy's comment about the damages not being caused by the son was enough to understand what stained the mattress. Just my opinion.
As a woman I think it’s hard to not stain one, when your curse of eve comes in the middle of the night and you’re not prepared. Especially as a young one still trying to learn her body.
unfortunately showing the pics might have been a little bit needed.....cuz without context it would have been hard for some to figure out how a regular stain on the mattress is enough evidence to determine the defendant caused the damage.
It's a pretty minor stain, really. You could probably take a home steam cleaner to it and get most of it out! I'd be taking that mattress if I had to pay for it 😅
@@coffeeaddictexpress5038 I agree.
@@RayMon504 I get what you're saying.
Wow she’s suing her for that smh
What a crappy thing to do. Plantiff takes this baby girl in, then turns around and wants her to pay rent. Then kicks her out. Then is suing her.
Over a cheap mattress too! Smh
she isn't a baby tf
Poor defendant is going to have major trust issues in life.
@@nxbxdy3404 JJ would definitely say that she’s a baby. You must not watch this show?
@@Jade_902 she's a grown woman
These cases where parents take in kids of their friends who have been kicked out although altruistic seems to really bother me.
How so?
She only took her in to help her pay rent.
Are you serious, the young lady was there for a year and she didn't charge her rent while she was still in school. She didn't charge her rent in July, August, September, October, not until November did she start paying 200 00 a month. The woman paid all of the food, probably made her meals and more than likely paid for her personal hygiene items like soap, shampoo and pads. The woman was NOT in to helping her for the money.
"let's change it to nothing" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 what i wouldn't give to sit next to jj at a cocktail party after a couple of martinis
What’s disrespectful is calling her “Judy.”
4:52 that's JUDGE Judy to you!
No I think she shouldn't pay rent because they didn't discuss that
If you're prepared to sue people about bedding, get a cover for your precious mattress. People have things happen to them while sleeping. I used to get nosebleeds when I was younger and wake up covered in blood.
Not the mother and daughter having the same haircut
" Let change it to nothing""!!😂😂😂😂.
The mattress is disgusting (it looks like she didn't even TRY to clean it up) but... Honestly, she should just consider it a loss.
She helped a young woman who was kicked out. She should pat herself on the back, leave the mattress in the alley with a FREE sign, go sit down and know she did a good thing.
Court was a bit unnecessary...
Not often the defendant after losing says “I thought it was an excellent decision”. Must be because she knows it’s right but still doesn’t have to pay
“Lets change that to nothing” I cant 😂😂
Who is she calling Judy??!!!
Like she's a pal. Ugh. Disrespectful.
“I think Judy was very insightful”
Em m’am, have you watched the show?
Why do people want to air their dirty laundry in front of millions of people because a room was trashed?
have you ever seen puppet masters? remember the jester puppet? can you guess who greatly resembles that puppet in this video? as if they were the inspiration.
Her daughter 😂
Byrd looks really mad
His pencil broke...
Yeah I think it has something to do with the pictures! I’m not sure if he’s disgusted by them or by the fact that they are putting that young girl on blast!!
@@shay3519I think it's because they put the young girl on blast honestly.
Love the plaintiff’s daughter’s reaction when she brought up that the son was doing illegal drugs. Bet the daughter was involved.
How is a teenager suppose to pay you rent? They’re not making a whole lot of money.
She said she was working so she would pay something not all rent has to be 300 400 500
Depends on where you work. My teens make over 2k a month each. Swim instructors... I don't take a penny from them.
You're supposed to pay SOME as a teenager if you're working, its called learning to budget and pay your way. Otherwise you finally leave the roost and have no idea
@@gRinchY-op5vryep, they fail going from having 100% disposable income to now needing to budget. It doesn’t work out most of the time
It's called earning your keep. This isn't the plaintiff's Adult child. Even someone working at McDonald's can pay $200. a month "rent" for room and BOARD. She didn't pay for her own food, utilities, or anything else. That's a very reasonable "rent", since food alone for someone her age is over $200.
Am I the only one who thinks its disrespectful to call the judge just "Judy" lol
But baby, it's cold outside.
How did the defendant do this to someone who went out of her way to help out big time? No gratitude or character.
The only thing the defendant did was to have her period cause a stain on the mattress, that's not deliberate, and it happens. Most likely she was too embarrassed to ask for help in how to clean it. She came across as very nice and grateful. I think the plaintiff is the one with issues. She can't get to her son anymore so she takes her frustration out on this young woman.
Plaintiff is petty. Good luck to the Defendant.
4:44 Damn that was a little cruel from JJ 👩⚖️. 😭😭 😭💀💀💀
Why is it cruel?
Me thinks everybody is forgetting how young this girl is, she obviously had no parents of the year.
All a bit sad.
I hope she finds her footing in the world soon.
JJ I know I said 85 years ago,. Judy, I was only joking🤭
Defend. Called her Judy? 😂
Is anyone else not ok with people calling JJ "Judy"
It just irks me lol
a fucking mattress? your joking right
Her son didn’t cause that damage. Period, end of discussion.
pun intended?
Why did JJ handle this case? The plaintiff made clear that she is a close friend of JJ 😊 4:51
how do you come to that conclusion?
@@binzypoo It's standard manners to address someone by their last name unless they have TOLD you to use their first name... The plaintiff referred to JJ as _"Judy",_ like they're old pals or something.
For example... _"You two are on a _*_first-name basis?_*_ Since when?"_
I think this was more of a slip from a person who dosen't have manners or formal training in it, than a slip that they are close friends or were.
@@themirrorsofmymind I agree she is being very presumptuous and forward using her first name. But I doubt they are close friends.
@@Hunter1825 Agreed
I love Brittany's 1940s look
Don't understand why people think someone who is defendant's age is somehow 100,% incompetent and unable to navigate simple life tasks. Stop calling her a "baby", you are part of the problem.
At the time she was barely out of high school so yeah she is still a kid. You just have unrealistic expectations
@@Paerata12 No, I don't. Never a wealthy person, but I raised 4 bio kids, and three foster kids. All grew up with a good sense of ethics and work/ responsibility/ consequences. They started earning their own money by the time they were 10. They had all the general school experiences ( academics, sports, arts, social events) that they chose. They learned how to budget, spend wisely from an early age with play money. They were expected to do well in academics, and received help if they needed it. They learned basic household tasks ( dishes, cleanup, laundry) appropriate to their ages. All have been very successful and happy with their chosen, but diversely interesting lives.
😂
I'm curious.... does anyone find the purple hair attractive?
Yeah me!
Nope.
No I think it takes away from her looks!!
Yes if you are an lgbtq+ member or liberal. If you are a conservative probably not.
I think the purple hair is pretty. :)

The plaintiff's daughter is stunning and poised
not with that purple hair lol.
It could have been vine! That girl seems like a good girl. Very good temperament 🤗
