I've been obsessed with these 2 games for months...Kira, the dev who did Lunacid, recently helped with the combat of another game in this vein called Dread Delusion. . .which is essentially Lunacid meets Oblivion .
Daaaaamn, been playing with a couple of maxed out weapons for a few hours on Lunacid, had no idea about the blacksmith lol. Thanks, that was a very useful tip!
Great content! Picked up both of these recently. Gonna wait for Lunacid to leave EA before I dig in. Devil Spire has been a different but fun experience for me, who hasn't played King's Field but enjoys most other traditional styled dungeon crawlers.
Because of your Hitchhikers Guide I was wondering: is there a game you've bought in EA but waited for the full release to actually play it, so you can enjoy & praise all of it's content from the start? For me it is Lunacid (and Satisfactory). I'm so hyped for Version 1.0. I have only listened to your video, because I didn't even want any more visual spoilers. I literally stopped myself from playing the game after 15 minutes or so, because I really want to treat myself with a whole & finished playthrough experience.
Lunacid is nearly perfect. My only complaints are the lack of a left hand, the lack of armour pieces, the lack of a map, and the over abundance of teleportation locations.
Lunacid is incredibly good so far, and it's the reasons i found your channel. Devil Spire is okay, i feel like it doesn't compare to Lunacid, but still functional. i prefer the open world vibe opposed to dungeon crawl.
I agree, I was having fun until I got a Wand and it has infinite uses that trivialize combat. Even ranged weapons like the bow/crossbow don't need arrows to use. i feel like they need to change this to balance the game better.
have you considered writing a script, and splitting your VO. by paragraphs or sections? the unbroken monologue tends to make me feel nervous and pressed
That's interesting, I've never heard that before. I do actually write scripts for certain videos, but I like to do others stream of consciousness. I'll make an effort to split up my thoughts into meaningful segments to be easier to parse.

I've actually been playing Dread Delusion recently, super interesting and weird.
Thanks to this comment, I now have Dread Delusion on my wishlist
That sounds awesome
Thanks for your review of Devil Spire!
Ayyyy, thanks for putting your heart into making a unique spin on a great game.

Thanks! I'm glad to hear that, one of my main goals is to help people try new things and find games they might otherwise have missed.
Lunacid is one of the best indie gems of this year. Devil Spire looks interesting too and I will check it out.
You mentioned Dark Cloud, I must leave a like ❤

I didn't play too much of Hades until the full release, and there are several RPGs I waited for too.
take a breathe brother

lol, not taking any chances with that dude in the coffin
I know how this works. As soon as I turn my back on him, he's gonna rise up and eat my legs.
They look fun and have the kings field look but seem far off from them in gameplay.
I found the combat in Lunacid to be too easy, and I did not like the lack of passives.

Was that a doodoo boss?
The fact that the sword spends most of the animation time almost completely outside of the screen, kinda puts me off the game.
Dude, please pause and breathe from time to time lol
