This was a great video! Really interesting that one can find better deals purchasing a home pre-construction. Those apartments look really nice and the prices that we briefly see at the end are pretty amazing. Thanks so much for making/sharing this!
Thanks. I think, "pre-construction" sounds a bit like "buying a cat in the sack". All deals and investments aside, how to send money, US Dollars, from abroad to Colombia? Which services or Banks are you using? What are the implications and taxes in doing this?
Its not a good idea to invest in Colombia because you have zero legal guarantees. You can invest and make all papers very well, but after you were cheated your money is lost because the state attorneys(Fiscalias) dont work. There are very good investment opportunities but if the documents you sign even in front of a notary have no legal value you will always lose all your investment. Apart of this its very difficult to find a honest lawyer. The most lawyers are thiefs, not loyal and very lazy.
I agree with Martin. Dont invest in Colombia. I've been living in Cartagena for five years now and I cant wait to move back to Canada. There's so many apartments for sale in the city right now, I dont think I can give mine away.
@@ricksterrickster8618 It's not safe to be in Colombia right now. The civil unrest in the country is still continuing. There have been violent protests since the beginning of May. The health care system here is falling apart, the government is so corrupt and half of Venezuela is in the streets begging for money.
I found some construction apartments being built and it's $3000 to get in. That is money I have but what happens next? Do I need to come up the rest of the money before the construction is finished? What are my options after that? Just sell the profit I make from that 3000$ through appreciation?
Not really a revolution. Elections 2022 and politics at play. The people realise they do not want Venezuela model in Colombia. A big mistake by the left.
This Realtor is a really good guy i am using him presently to invest in Colombia

It's a gamble. Problem is you don't who to trust there.

Sam, how do you keep receiving phone calls in Colombia from USA phone number? which services and apps do you use? This could be a great video topic
Most people use WhatsApp. That's how we keep in touch with our family back in Switzerland, and the best part is that it's free. You just need data.

20% in appreciation in less than 2 years? I doubt it
Lol my thoughts as well. Salesman pitch haha
Just in pre-construction. Preexisting units would be 3% to 5% a year.

Colombia is going through a slow revolution. I wouldn't touch real estate until Colombia settles down..
This is the time to do it ! prices are down and Medellin aint going nowhere
