The FMS Kingfisher is perhaps the ultimate plane for the RC bush pilot on a budget. In this edition of Horizon Insider, we highlight this PNP model and focus on it's aerobatic capability, STOL attributes, and its overall value. We also equipped this 1.4 meter plane with the Spektrum AR637T receiver to unlock creature comforts like AS3X and SAFE Select technology!
With features like flaps, oversize wheels/tires, floats, skis, and an FPV camera mount, this the perfect plane for the adventurous STOL pilot looking for a new model to add to their hangar!

Good plane for me to being when my jets get to hard to land safely on the runway. Our location is getting so many crosswind days now. It seams like all year long even but dont fear the wind, use it!

It makes you a better pilot. I love slope soaring and thermal duration gliders. Helicopters are interesting in the wind. They don't get turned upside down when hitting the rotor or severe turbulence while landing. Heli's kind of balloon up.

The landing would of been ok in my humble opinion if you had used rudder or more rudder if you did use it,but i'm sure if you hadn't of been so honest most of us probably wouldn't of noticed 😉,but i did think to my self that you nearly stalled it there until you said what you did, still great flying and top notch flight review.
You sort of know when you have a good plane because the RC shops have it in stock or can get it in a matter of days, which means the manufacturers keep it on the assembly line,my pet hate use to be when new models came out and would only last a season or two and then dry up,but now i just see it as part of the hobby and if i really liked a certain plane, helicopter or quad copter i'd buy two or get one but buy the crash kit and/or as many spares as i can afford.
Thanks for sharing with much love and respect from another RC nut from the UK. 😉👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I've had mine for a year and it's survived some gnarly crashes. Keeps coming back for more. Still haven't gotten to fly it on water but I just upgraded the ESC to a 60amp so I can try 4s. Motor says it's not rated for it but I think it will be fine.

I just found my next plane, thank you Horizon Hobby!!!!
You should come up with a different kind of airplane. The Mooney (General Aviation) brand is basically the Porsche of the sky. Rockford, IL to Walnut Ridge, AR in 2.5 hours. It's an awesome plane and I thing Horizon Hobby could benefit deeply.
REMEMBER.........The Mooney has the tell tail signature backwards tail with retractable landing gear.

Love mine but found it flies so much better on 4s, I fly from water and with the floats I found it to be very sluggish, also as someone said all water planes should have reversing esc👌

Can I ask, have you use 4S with the original ESC and motor ? Thanks for answer.

Go with the 4s for more power resulting in better performance.

  • @BlvlWmpower

That was a lot of turbulence, not just steady wind. Props for flying anyway.

    At $220 + you will need a...
    Full-range, 5+ channel transmitter
    Full-range, 5+ channel receiver
    2200mAh 3S LiPo flight battery
    & Compatible LiPo charger
That might be a budget build for some but not most! Buy a umx timber and some better batteries from hobbyking or someone else with cheap lipos and enjoy a real budget Bush plain, better yet look up the flight test line up and get a mini model with real servos a real gyro system the works with every brand receiver and grow in this hobby not just live in the horizon bubble.
    🥃cheers🍻

Great Little Plane!!! Luv It, Butt It Needs A Reversing ESC, PS Y'alls Need To Put Them In ALL Your Bush+Water Planes... Thanks PSS BLOCK "STEVENS" Your 1st Commenter IT'S A SPAM BOT!!!

    • @startazz
      @startazz 4 года назад

Yep there are a lot of these types of comments that are bots,an easy spot is the ones that say do you want to be my friend before or after their comment,i've even heard someone say on a video that there account got hacked by one.
But as far as the ESC go i agree as HK started that trend with their water planes, sort of make sense now but to be honest not many if any ever asked for it before they started it. 🤣😉😉
Happy flying from another RC brother in the UK.

Yes, unclip the struts, unplug your y harness for the ailerons, press 2 push buttons under the wings and they slide off, no screws or anything

@@levi.k4017 the HobbyZone Carbon Cub S2 would be "better" simply due to the technology it "ships with" versus the Kingfisher. Here is a link: www.horizonhobby.com/search?q=carbon+cub+s2&search-button=&lang=default

Horizon Hobby yes I have seen that one but as I live in Australia it is $500-$570 here which is way too much for me, the kingfisher is only $325. Is it too fast for beginners? I really like it

wants some more power? drop a 10x7 or 10x8 propeller and run a 2200mah 4s Lipo battery. has a 40 amp esc so it can do it without over heating.
