- Done!This is an iaito from Ryan sword, I have to cut off the tsuka about 5cm because it's too long, and change the fitting like : new tsuba, new fuchi,kashira, new menuki, new samegawa and of course : a new green nubuck ito !!
It's the first time I have ever wrapped a nubuck ito, not really happy with the result because the ito is so thick and hard, made me a tough and long time to wrap it !
The blade balance and feeling of the leather is so beautiful!!

Anh ơi , tại sao lại làm ngắn tay cầm lại vậy ? Em có 2 cây katana tay cầm dài 30 cm ,thì có nên làm ngắn lại không , tay cầm dài bao nhiêu thì hợp lý ?
Cái này tùy thuộc vào balance của cây kiếm thôi bạn ạ, vì thường TQ làm hay để phần cán quá dài nên mũi kiếm lúc chém sẽ bị chúi, cắt xuống 25cm là vừa
@@binderdozen không biết tại sao thầy của em không cắt xuống mà thấy ổng cầm kiếm cách tsuba 1 lóng tay cái, ổng nói vậy mới giống dùng shinai . Em mua cây katana của china cán dài 27cm ổng kêu ngắn ?

Why do you cut the Tang short?
Tang would be long rendering the new tsuka useless since it might not fit
it is because they wanted it shortened. edit miss spell

Cutting the tang? Has to be for a display only sword because as far as I know that would wreck the tempering on a fine blade.
japanese tangs or nakago are not Tempered
