Great job on this garden center transformation! I'm sure it's been rewarding. I have a big Bloodgood that I rescued dying in a landscape. I'll be air layering off the top here in a few weeks, but I think the final plan for my base will be thread/approach grafts to make a full foliage change. Looking forward to your next update on this thickie! 🙏🪴🍁
You really went to town on this beast. I’m sure the next year will present amazing branch growth, and the roots will fill the pot. Beautiful pot by the way.
Have you tried to do a regular graft? Might work. They do it to fruit trees to get 5 different varieties of apples on it. To get branches on the other side, it might just work out for you this spring. Just a thought.
Great root work on this Maple. To me with that one cutting looks like an eye and the roots, tentacles, or an octopus. Maybe it is just me, but I thought it was cool.

Nice trip through time on this tree.

Epic video! Great to see the progression of the bonsai process with this beautiful tree!

Oh, that was wicked cool! This tree just keeps giving you more opportunities to try new things.
I hope it felt as satisfying as it looked, good sir.
I’m very hopeful for this one!
Thanks for the wire trick. Nice tree.

nice start
big one indeed!
awesome!!
Oh those sneaky apostrophes. They pop up like weeds. Yank that first one out of there quick before anybody notices.
Well, Twin Cities Metro area is zone 5 now :)
Really? I did not know that!
Foisting 😊
You could have air layered the top you chopped no? It is just my thoughts.
Tried, failed.
@@DavesBonsai ooo so sorry.
Why a flat in a box? I would think either or.
Not really sure why I did that. I like the better drainage of flat. But it was flimsy so secured with box.
LOL I saw the cracks in the flat later on. Makes sense now!@@DavesBonsai
