    Ross, I loved this piece. In particular, your advice that there are no mistakes or failures, just opportunities to learn more, is so freeing. Your love of what you do comes shining through.

    Thanks for sharing, Ross. Well communicated, candid and honest. This is how people can actually learn. And you are wise enough to allow for peers being something other than competition! Hope you find time to share more. How much we could all learn if artists would share. Maybe some of just don't know how.

      Thanks and my pleasure David! My background is in theatre and it's all about community; sharing comes easily for me... probably because I'm not wise enough to be fearful...

    Could you share what solvent you used to get the laser transfer. I have been using acetone with average results. Thank you.

    Around 3:05 what type of solvent was used?

    • @opusartsupplies
      @opusartsupplies  8 лет назад +2

      Hi Nicole - Ross is using Wintergreen Oil for his photo transfers, however, you can also use a solvent-based marker like the Chartpak Blender Marker to achieve similar results. We have a full list of the products shown in the video here: www.opusartsupplies.com/rossdenotter
      Hope this helps!

    Hi Ross, may I ask your advice please? I am in the middle of a mixed media picture and I want to finish it with a wax sealant like you have done here. I have successfully done this before. Today I saw someone who seals their wax after it has dried. Is this just for aesthetic purposes do you think or does sealing the wax have any long lasting benefits? I've never sealed the wax before. Hoping you don't mind me asking you for your advice here. Thanks! x

    At around 1:16, what is the process for transferring the photograph onto the canvas?
    Thx

    • @opusartsupplies
      @opusartsupplies  8 лет назад +2

      Hey Jwalzer - Ross is mounting his digital print onto a wood cradled panel. We have a video detailing the steps and materials needed here: ruclips.net/video/0Z6ke44bDHc/видео.html
      Hope this helps!

      Hi Aundrae,
      Ross is using Strathmore 400 Recycled Sketchbook Paper. Here is a link to the paper on our website to help give you more information: store.opusartsupplies.com/sagro/storefront/store.php?mode=browsecategory&category=418

    Can I do that on canvas instead oaf wood?

    • @aundrae10
      @aundrae10 8 лет назад +3

      Yes you can do it on canvas but watch out because the weight of the resin makes the canvas unleveled leaving hills and valleys〰

    Ive found that photo glossy paper doesn't adhere well to resin.
