You should do a video comparing brand name vegan products and mock meats to store brand / generic ones. I frequently buy Aldi's Earth Grown stuff and HEB's non-dairy ice cream (granted that's a Texas only thing).
@MdoubleHB How unfortunate that she switched to an affordable, sustainable, and healthy diet. If raw vegan is so wonderful why are there so many former raw vegans? It seems like the main ones these days are Freelee the Bananas Girl and Fully Wrong Kristina. There is a reason why you don't find any vegan dieticians who advocate for raw veganism.
When you mentioned the Care Bears fruit snacks a memory was unlocked so I did some research. I believe the ones you are talking about are Care Bears fruit snacks, made by Betty Crocker. They have a huge line up of licensed fruit snacks, INCLUDING the famous scooby doo ones with the opaque fruit snacks. So I think these are the snacks you are looking for.
omg never been this early - LOVE how often you do these now. So awesome to see vegan goodies taking over the stores! Also would love to see your opinion on the new steak tips!
Immediately ordered those VegoBears after watching! Should arrive tomorrow:) My partner LOVES gummy candy/fruit snacks, so that’ll be a fun surprise treat for them. Their current favorite are the YumEarth brand.
Ngl this video might have your worst take ever, I normally agree with you on everything: not liking the caramel core 🤯 I couldn’t get enough of that flavour. Tiny scoop of caramel and then a scoop of ice cream? Perfect 🤤😂
I got those VegoBear gummy bears too. Had to ask sales associate what ‘foamy’ meant and was very unsure if I would like them. They are soooo good! I also like eating them with a little dark chocolate.
There are a lot of brands that do better nondairy mochi (they’re not supposed to be the mymochi texture!). The Whole Foods brand coconutmilk strawberry and chocolate are good, and Trader Joe’s occasionally brings out good vegan ones. Mochidoki is really great but very expensive and
@MdoubleHB this just isn’t related to my comment, nor is this science-based. If you have some legitimate science to share, maybe put it in a separate comment.
You like opaque fruit gummies? I don't know if you get all the different Katjes stuff over there - but they have so many good stuff. Some are just the same in a different color/shape. But I like all the stuff Katjes does so much!
I'm normally not a massive fan of vegan Gummies, but Katjes honestly has the best. I do hope USA gets them more as well, because there's definitely a market for it over there.
I would be curious to hear Unnatural Vegan's opinion on Notmilk. I tried their whole and chocolate milk and it is probably the best tasting plant milk I have ever had.
We don't have that in the UK but there is a brand called "This" with products called This isn't bacon, This isn't chicken etc and now we have Notmilk. It made me think of all the anti-vegans that complain about people saying almond milk and vegan ham etc saying they should be called nut juice and soy slices. Well now we have NotMilk and This Isn't bacon so in yer face anti's!! 😃
As someone not from the US: what is the idea behind Grocery Outlet? Do they have products that a company has produced too much of? Or unpopular products? Why are the items cheaper?
That chia milk looks like it’d be like Yoohoo! Like it’d be weird at first but once you get past the fact that it’s a “chocolate drink” and not chocolate milk, it’s better. Seems like it’s good for kids :)
Soy Curls are fantastic. I need to try the chic seasoning. Next time I order a 12 lb bag I will have to order the seasoning. Here is a fantastic soy curl recipe I came up with. Korean flavored BBQ soy curl sandwich. Soak soy Curls as usual. In a mixing bowl mix BBQ sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, and gochujang or ssamjang. Toss the soy curls in the BBQ sauce mix and cook in an air fryer. Serve on a toasted sandwich roll topped with vegan Kimchi.
I’m jealous of your vegan products selection. I’ve had the Sproud chocolate and I didn’t find it too bad, only buy it on sale though because Silk Dark Chocolate Almond is a better deal. You know a lot of the new vegan food stuff I try tends to come from the random food section at Winners and Marshals. Lol.
I'm not sure at what point in time it happened, but "pistachio" flavored things became almond extract plus real pistachio. Like if you get pistachio ice cream, it'll probably be almond flavored green ice cream with pistachio chunks. Maybe pistachio doesn't have a strong enough flavor on its own?
I didn't know Butler was an Oregon company. I wish they sold in more stores. I know you can buy on Amazon and through Azure Standard but would be so nice to find at Freddy's or Walmart.
It would be nice if sold in more stores. When I buy it I get the 12 lb bag. It's one of my favorite meat substitutes. I like to soak up a bunch in a good sized plastic container. I keep the soaked and drained soy Curls in my fridge so they are ready to go
I very much recognise that the 'gummy rice stuff' is an aquired tast. I just recently tried milk tea with brown sugar boba. I found that I liked the milk tea with brown sugar flavour, but did not really consider the boba a pleasant addition to the drink. It did not make it worse, but not better either.
The German brand Katjes has opaque gummies called "Yoghurt-Gums" but they're vegetarian not vegan. Super delicious though, I wish they were vegan, I haven't had them in years.
I just want to clarify that those mochi ice creams look horrific and is in no way authentic. I grew up on them in Hong Kong and they were my favourite snack after school the mochi layer is not meant to be that thick, it looks as thick as pastry or raw dough, it takes skill to make the mochi skin as thin as possible . It looks really bad & westernized and probably coupled with the fact that it’s made by a small plant based company, understandably it probably isnt going to be any good. You’ll just be chewing through dry ass dough. I had a similar experience getting a mochi ice cream from LIDL in th UK (wasnt vegan) but the outer layer was just TOO thick. I think a lot of your reviews on east-asian inspired vegan snacks will unfortunately be poor due to the how far off the product is from what is suppose to look/taste like
i haven't tried the half and half but the ripple milk was absolutely inedible for me, even in a smoothie, my god idk how people like it lol, if im gonna pay that much for milk it's def gonna be silk unsweetened soy
Silk Half and Half and Silk Next Milk. The Silk Half and Half is fantastic in coffee and the Next Milk is really good in recipes and when you don't want your mashed potatoes to taste like soy. :) Weirdly, sometimes frozen fruit tastes mildly fishy to me. I wonder if it's some weird frozen food phenomenon.
I like mochi, but I'm incredibly picky about mochi ice cream. My mochi is probably my favorite brand (not that there is a lot of competition in a standard US grocery store).
tbh all mochi, the non ice cream version, are vegan. It’s an acquired taste that you should probably just get from an asian bakery or even grocery store, without the ice cream. I got into it when I first tried the real thing.
I don't like the "viscous runny caramel" type things either. Makes me gag. This includes thick pudding or custard (or similar yogurt texture) even "runny" caramel in chocolate. Filled donuts, or pb&j (the j part). Idk what that's about, but you aren't alone ....lolol
@@UnnaturalVegan I liked custard but my mum's used to have lumps in so she would always pour mine through a sieve each time I asked. I still remember, my dad calling me fussy and saying I should sieve it myself if I'm going to be awkward! haha!
Your outfit makes me think of some lesbian youtubers I watch that are into horror movies LOL. But it's ok; straight people can wear flannel too. LOL. They make vegan Birkenstocks if you want to push the lesbian stereotype even further. LOL On a more serious note; Birkenstocks are awesome. Yea I did buy them because gay. But they are legitimately comfortable sandals.
There’s still a lot of fear mongering, both with vegans and non vegans, about MSG, even though at this point it’s been well studied and proven that it’s fine, not to mention that the initial concern was from just one letter a guy wrote positing that maybe his stomach was upset because of Asian food and because people are racist they ran with it. Unnatural Vegan has a whole video on MSG and discussing why some people still are scared to have it.
@@rowan6650 Yep! I love MSG. It's a must have spice in my kitchen. When I make home fries I season them with salt, garlic powder, pepper, and MSG. So good. A trick I picked up from the Food Wishes channel is to cut the potatoes into qurters and microwave them for 4 minutes. Once the potatoes are cool you cut them up and prepare as normal. I toss the nuked taters in canola oil and the spice mix. I then pop that into my air fryer.
It can be depending on what you eat. Under the Meidan is a budgeting channel that is from a vegan family and they definitely spend less than the typical person on groceries.
It depends on what you get. Vegan can be cheaper if you avoid things like meat substitutes. Things like rice, oats, potatoes, beans, lentils etc are all really cheap. I recently picked up a 20 lb sack of pinto beans at the Mexican grocery store Cardenas for 20 bucks. They also have 20 lb sacks of black beans for the same price.
It's not just you who doesn't like the core thing! I don't know why but I really don't like it, maybe it just produces a bad ratio of sauce to ice cream? Either way something about it grosses me out irrationally
You should do a video comparing brand name vegan products and mock meats to store brand / generic ones. I frequently buy Aldi's Earth Grown stuff and HEB's non-dairy ice cream (granted that's a Texas only thing).
I have been using the Kroger Simple Truth soy milk in my coffeeforawhilenow. I like it. It's cheap and available at my local Smith's.
@MdoubleHB How unfortunate that she switched to an affordable, sustainable, and healthy diet. If raw vegan is so wonderful why are there so many former raw vegans? I love mochi the chewiness of the rice dough is satisfying in a weird way lol
"I bought them because they said foamy...and what the fuck does that mean" hahahahaha 😂😂

The Morning Star Buffalo Wings are the best thing ever. My non-vegetarian husband can't get enough of them.
omg never been this early - LOVE how often you do these now. So awesome to see vegan goodies taking over the stores! Also would love to see your opinion on the new steak tips!
Nothing's brought me more joy today than hearing you say nut pods 😅
I’m so surprised you don’t like the simulate! I love those! But mine look crunchier than what you showed.
Immediately ordered those VegoBears after watching! Should arrive tomorrow:) My partner LOVES gummy candy/fruit snacks, so that’ll be a fun surprise treat for them. Their current favorite are the YumEarth brand.
The Simulate Nuggets really reminded me of the fish sticks my mom used to serve when I was a kid. Nobody in my house was a fan.
i grew up in rural US and ended up loving mochi when i moved to japan! it's not for everyone but i love it!
@MdoubleHB ew get out of here
Love you. Love your videos!!
4:55 I live in Canada 7.99 is my normal for non-dairy ice cream, I've also paid 12$ for a Ben and Jerry's 😭

I assume the term "foam" just means that the gummy mix was whipped prior to setting, like when you make marshmallows from gelatin
You may be thinking of the Disney princess themed fruit flavoured snacks by Betty Crocker?!
My non-vegan partner and I love Simulate Chicken Nuggs!! We have no problem buying the dinosaur shaped ones when they are out of the regular ones.😂😂😂
I love mochi. Especially the consistency.
But then i like raw dough also.

The magnums are so good!
If the nuggets contain ground flax, that is probably where the fishy taste comes from.
@MdoubleHB Wow, you do like to spam those three comments, why?

Yesss Katjes, been eating those since i was a kid.
I made a vegan steak alfredo last night with the Beyond tips and it was super tasty.
I LOVE Ripple Half & Half and it has become so hard to find in San Francisco. I miss it!
I would be curious to hear Unnatural Vegan's opinion on Notmilk. I tried their whole and chocolate milk and it is probably the best tasting plant milk I have ever had.
I'm obsessed with their whole milk. Super tasty

PLEASE TRY THE PAQUI JALAPEÑO PINEAPPLE CHIPS IF YOU HAVENT. they’re like vegan cool ranch Doritos and highly addictive

Pistachio is strongly flavored, but almonds are significantly less expensive and can pass for most people so long as it’s dyed green.
Are the gummies maybe strawberry short cake ?? I vaguely remember this cake gummy too
Ben and Jerry's and Häagen-Dazs is $12 in Australia.
Trader Joes dones AMAZING vegan mochi - chocolate, strawberry, and mango
I wish we had all these options 😭😍
Jack and Annies nuggest are so bomb. I found them at whole foods, they're made with jackfruit and my roommates said they taste like mcdonalds nuggets😛
the pistachio milk i tried was actually green-ish and tasted like pistachio. the company that makes it is called olympus
I didn't know Butler was an Oregon company. I wish they sold in more stores. I know you can buy on Amazon and through Azure Standard but would be so nice to find at Freddy's or Walmart.

I bought those gummies solely based on the “foamy” descriptor. Bold word choice.
I wonder if the opaque fruit snacks you’re remembering were Strawberry Shortcake themed.
Fruit snacks tier list when?
Foamy gummis are quite normal in germany..but i dont like them too much. Coffee with Cinammon i like a lot.
And mochi too.
Funny how tastes differ.
The German brand Katjes has opaque gummies called "Yoghurt-Gums" but they're vegetarian not vegan. Super delicious though, I wish they were vegan, I haven't had them in years.
The shirt is iconic.
Wow. Ben & Jerrys are around €7 a tub here in Germany.
It's the same in England but as a treat the choc fudge brownie one - didn't they do well making that?! 😃
LUV Pea Sprout Milk - all brands - so good! Each time I try chia milks - don't like at all.

Opaque fruit snacks were the only ones I'd eat as a kid due to texture lol
Oh man I probably didn't even notice this dope shirt until halfway through
Random reminder - don't cut your bangs ;)
i haven't tried the half and half but the ripple milk was absolutely inedible for me, even in a smoothie, my god idk how people like it lol, if im gonna pay that much for milk it's def gonna be silk unsweetened soy

Nut pods is the most hilarious name I've ever heard
I was shocked when I saw Ripple in recent vid!! I am so reluctant to try but if YOU like it must be good.
Magnum dairy free ice cream is the best ever. I wish I could find a shop that carried it all the time.
FDA now approved cultured meat, opinion?
Just read that!!!!! Video soon, hopefully!
You should buy Fazer oat chocolate
Vegan mochi ice cream!!!! I need that on my life!
I too bought the big box of simulate nuggets from grocery outlet and I regretted it, they're so bland and kind of a chore to eat IMO.
I love mochi, it's definitely something you either love or hate
omg yes the blue scooby ones!!!
I've tried the gummy bears. There so good. Whenever I go to target I try to see if they have them and get them. There yummy.
Try spicy dried peas!
tbh all mochi, the non ice cream version, are vegan. It’s an acquired taste that you should probably just get from an asian bakery or even grocery store, without the ice cream. I got into it when I first tried the real thing.
Yes!! I get the fishy flavor in nuggets too. Simulate were just ever so slightly like that. But there are other brands that are FISHY
I don't like the "viscous runny caramel" type things either. Makes me gag. This includes thick pudding or custard (or similar yogurt texture) even "runny" caramel in chocolate. Filled donuts, or pb&j (the j part). Idk what that's about, but you aren't alone ....lolol

Why would vegans not use MSG ? It is the thing is celery salt so it has vegan sources

Wait but..honeycomb?
OMD! Don’t talk about Gardein, for some reason their Chik'n Soup is like asparagus, the smell infuses EVERYTHING that comes out of me.
Really? I like the Gardein Chik'n Noodle Soup. It's great for when I'm sick.
Mm mochi. So good. But to each their own! I’ll take yours ;)
Foamy…which is why I bought them, because, what the fuck does that mean….?😂😂😂
"Ben and Jerry's" are always good.
Personal preference, I guess.
I need your t shirt!!!
I actually really like the simulate nuggets! I think they taste pretty close to real chicken nuggets so maybe that’s why you didn’t like them?

Trader joes does a vegan mochi!!!
The impossible nuggets I did not like , too chickeny I think
why won't vegans use msg?
Some don't use it becausw it's uNnAturAl
Why did she say msg isn’t vegan?
She didn’t say that, she said vegans wouldn’t eat it. MSG is wildly criticized across the vegan community for the perceived health risks.
🖤
I tried my sister fave frozen dessert & I didn't like it! I love your explanation/reason why I didn't like Mochi!
The simply brand at Kroger tenders used to be very good, but then they started taste fishy. I definitely know what you’re talking about.
Yeah! I thought I was crazy when I noticed that about a couple other brands, but definitely noticed it in the Kroger "tenders" as of late.
Fucking love your videos
thank you!
Hellur!!
Gummy rice 🤢🤢
