Check out the hotel video dropping SUNDAY AT 9:30AM: ruclips.net/user/edit?video_id=xRSyG9esjdQ&ar=2 BTW I'm gonna be exploring in St. Louis tomorrow, and will not likely make the premier. Thanks for watching! Please hit that like button for me!
Electricity can indeed reach out to upwards of 12+ feet from power lines and the like and it will kill you instantly. Electricity and Fire are to not be underestimated hence the term Backdraft...fire can flow back into walls without any damage to the walls and etc than as soon as you open a source of access it can jump out at you like a bomb going off.
Those "Frankenstein style" switches. Are called knife switches. its the simplest form of switch. Touching any copper on those switches when they were live would cause a fatal electrical shock Also at 12:18 that kind of "malfunction" Is called a "ark flash" it is when the air breaks down and a ark is generated between 2 or more contacts.
One tip when riding abandoned elevators: Have at least one person stay outside of the elevator at all times. That way, if there is a problem, they can go get help.
When you got stuck in the elevator, the outer doors were stuck closed, so the inner doors couldn't open it. You guys are fine as long as you don't go to that floor.
Ya we were a bit worried for a bit. There was a hatch we could have crawled out, but that might have been sketchy as we wouldn’t be sure if the elevator would movie while we were on the top of it
@@StrangePlaces Some elevators have those hatches, but they are locked for safety reasons. They can only be opened from the top of the elevator with a key. (So doing that wouldn't have worked anyway.)
Boombox says "You shouldn't have tuned my radio stations, delete all footage of this abandoned power plant or ill keep making fake accounts, your a bad person."
Damn I was gonna leave u a message in the control room , as I work at that location sometimes.i had a feeling u would make ur way there someday. Just be careful ,seriously !
VERY very cool explore, I'm gonna sub and check out your future vids. BUT please read: 1) You guys are very lucky you didn't set off any fire alarms when you were using those fire extinguishers. Most fire alarms can be triggered by anything that gets inside the detector other than clear air. Alarms would have attracted attention. The alarms are very likely still connected to phone lines that call the fire department. Even though the plant is decommissioned, it's clearly being maintained, monitored, etc. in a "mothballed" state. Things would be in much worse shape otherwise and def. would be cut off from the grid. 2) "Is that actual meth? YES!" Yeah....no. NONE of those chemicals were meth as in the drug. Even your own DNA has methyl groups added to it. Do you think methane, for example, has "meth" in it? 3) You are lucky you were not electrocuted. Not shocked, I mean electrocuted and instantly turned to carbon. That humming sound you hear throughout the facility is transformers that are energized, which indicates that a great deal of the equipment is energized. No way to know what is and isn't. And like your friend told you, just getting slightly too close to high voltage will cause it to arc and kill you. By the way I was impressed with your simple, concise, but ACCURATE description of how a coal plant actually produces electricity.
I don't know about elevators in the US, but where I live newer ones have a mechanism to prevent the inner doors being opened by someone inside them, so I would suggest if you do wish to use an elevator, make sure someone stays outside who has the appropriate key to release the outer doors incase it does get stuck (normally I would NEVER recommend trying to free yourself, but if you want to try and avoid being caught, this is another option)
The architecture of those old plants was really something. It's kind of strange the power was still on and that one control room still active. I wonder if it's used for a plant in another location? This was a great explore! I hope Exploring with Bill didn't mind too much!! lol Great video!
Haha thanks! And ya they took a lot of time and money to ensure the plant was constructed in a very appealing way. And I think the control room has been deactivated, but the power still runs through it. Thanks for watching!
Well heres a tip for next time if you are gonna use an elevator in a abandoned building actually send it to random floors and test it first to make sure its safe and then try it once
But people don’t just spray paint. I don’t even care about people spray painting. But vandals will literally go into that control room and smash everything you see inside. And it’s also for legal reasons that I don’t give out locations. This one is pretty easy to find though. The only problem is gonna be getting in.
Damn bruh I checked this place out a few weeks ago and got chased off. Guess I gotta head back at night like y'all....dunno how I'm gonna get in though.
There was a rent-a-cop parked there, I tried the side by the canal then but I had to kite a fat guy around a building to get out of there too. Coming back from school now so it's time to give it another go.

Damn. IG that guy who commented knew what he was talking about then.
Take nothing but photos leave nothing but footprints...... Setting off the fire extinguisher could be seen as vandalism although it looked cool

Very true. I’d probably send them to get some serious power tools from my house haha

It is a proven fact that taking the elevator is safer than taking the stairs. But this fact doesn't apparently apply to abandoned buildings
Definitely not haha. But it was a cool experience
Boombox says "You shouldn't have tuned my radio stations, delete all footage of this abandoned power plant or ill keep making fake accounts, your a bad person."
😂😂🤣🤣 hahaha
Boombox is filing a lawsuit for sexual harassment because I touched him in the vid
@@StrangePlaces I'm dead 🤣

Thanks for the sub man! And also thanks for the advice! I obviously don’t know everything, and those tips will come in handy on my future explores.
Great video guys.Awesome place.
Thanks!
I wouldn't say abandoned, just unused.

This is going to be a really good one. Im really looking forward to it.
I hope it lives up to expectations haha
It will. Your really good at what you do.
Cool place, I enjoyed coming along.
Thanks for the tour.
I knew you wouldn't be able to resist setting all controls to MAX POWER!
Hahaha true man
the Frankenstein switches are called blade switches.
keep up the great work, really good videos you guys
Lol . The frequency room stabilize the frequency . It don't make ac in dc .
That’s what I read. Maybe the source screwed up on the facts. But it said it converted a frequency of AC into a frequency of DC
Amazing video to watch on RUclips channel

4:32 why is the area below the screen censored??
Cuz it states the name of the power plant and he didn't want people finding the name :)

Great video
Should look, but don't touch. Who knows what you can get.
True. It’s risky. But curiosity always seems to get the best of me
you're a cat, everything around you is a one large bag
Keep up the good work
This was so terrible that I actually enjoyed it.
Said your girl immediately after intercourse 😂😂😂.
Strange Places That’s not even a good comeback. Come on dude, I know you can do better than that.

Rattamatt396, man you’ve got massive issues! Chill the fk out....

Can you make more videos to watch on RUclips channel

There was a rent-a-cop parked there, I tried the side by the canal then but I had to kite a fat guy around a building to get out of there too. Coming back from school now so it's time to give it another go.
