    Beautiful! One of the few renditions that acknowledges the festal nature of Pascha! Don’t ever let this choir director leave the parish! In fact, please produce a recording. Orthodoxy needs a good choir recording with a choir that sings like they are celebrating instead of mourning the Resurrection. Glory to God

    Thank you for the video, I was trying to figure out the "lyrics" of this song. I am currently exploring orthodoxy and this song was the song I don't completely know yet.

    Is the iconostas original to the Church?

    • @StMarysOCAMinneapolis
      @StMarysOCAMinneapolis  4 года назад +6

      Yes it is, it is in a Byzantine Catholic or Greek Catholic style. The parish was originally Greek Catholic but converted to Orthodoxy in 1891 since they weren't accepted by the local Catholic bishop. The majority of the parishioners were immigrants from eastern Slovakia (Rusyns/Rusins). You can see the altar in 1910: collections.mnhs.org/cms/largerimage.php?irn=10198444&catirn=10826482

      Wonderful! I love St. Alexis and I am so grateful for what he did for Orthodoxy here in America. I was blessed to “meet” him at St. Tikhon’s a couple of years ago. ♥️☦️
