In waiting for a redo of the video to update the info, Using midiCC instead of CC Toggles is better. That avoids any unwanted trigger when you select the patch.

Sorry for the sleepy tone of that video, it was late at night while the family was sleeping. I will redo that video when i get the time, shorter, less frenchy accent and less sleepy ;) and hopefully with an answer to the question, why, as soon you just select a patch containing those CC toggles, Logic start playing . cheers

You are welcome. The video is a bit out of date and i need to update it, i learned that using midiCC instead of CC toggles. Same principle, just using midi CC instead to avoid auto trigger when you bring on the patch.

@@olivierjezequel click preset button/wheel, then go down to 08 templates, then scroll down to 06d and it will be there logic / garage band. there are quite a few different remotes, even one for fps games.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to do this. Are you controlling Logic's transport with a midi cable or USB? I've noticed some ground loops when usb is connected (when using an external amp), so I only connect USB when editing Helix. I'm thinking a midi cable might be better for recording in Logic.

Hi, I am using the usb cable. As i am recording in same time, i have to usb anyway. But using the method on the video was giving an issue, calling a patch with those controls was sending a message to logic straigh away without pressing anything. Using midi CC instead of CC toggles fixed it. I need to redo this sleepy video one day :)
Have you tried the ground loop switch on the back of the helix ? I never had an issue with mine, but i don't have an amp connected to it. I am straight helix to computer. You could try using a diffrent wall socket for the amp, sometimes it fixes it i have read somewhere.

Hi great video by the way very handy. If i where to assign 3 foot switches to that particular patch for example FS1, FS2, FS3 i can PLAY,RECORD, and STOP however it changes my guitar patches.
What is the best possible way to do this so that i can play stop on per patch at anytime without it physically changing the preset to a different preset.
Your suggestions would be most appreciated.
    thanks

Also im not sure why i don't see the colours that i am assigning via the midi section in the Helix?

thanks, I'll redo that video when i get the chance. it is way too sleepy :)
The Patches changes when you press the foot switches ? Few questions pop into my mind :
      - Are you setting the controls while inside your patch mode ? (not at the root with all the patches choice)
      - Have you got some actions set on those same foot switches (turning effect on/off...) ? you need to have nothing set on the FS you use.
If it bothers you to lose some FS use, I suggest you create some specific patches only for recording, so you can keep the fully used one for gig.
That is the only think i can think is happening to your patch, it send the midi data in same time than turning fx on/off.
Bye the way, i found out it is best to use midi CC instead of CC toggle, the toggle on always send a midi order when you activate the patch (in my case it was making logic play) midi CC don't have the problem.
Let me know if that was the problem.

Are you sure the color is properly assigned and saved ? the color rings have 2 values dim and lit, but the color always change to what i choose. I am not sure about that one, it never happened to me

Thanks man!! It is really useful. One question tho, did you record the audio with the helix via usb? if yes, do you know if I can use another soundcard but still control the Logic Pro X with the Helix? Thank you!

Cheers, Sorry for the delay. I recoreded the voice direct with the video screen with my webcam. If i had used the helix for it, it would have stop and go all the time while playing with controls. But when i record guitar (or voice) i use the usb helix yes. About using a diffrent sound card and still controling through helix, yes of course you can. Logic would be set for your other sound card for audio, but the helix plugged should still be recognized as midi device anyway and logic should obey the midi commend. (i haven't try it but i don't see why it would not work). you can even use a midi keyboard for that, any midi. Little update, use the midiCC instead of CC toggles, the last one send a command everytime you turn to patch on. So everytime i changed patch, logic did start playing, it toke me a while and line6 support to solve it.
