pro tip: if the bulb wont move, twist harder ! i was nervous to break it and it wasn't moving at all but when i applied more pressure it clicked :)
So i spend like 10 minutes trying to get it to work and this video helped lol, i did not realize i had to twist it further after getting the first click (lock the bulb in place), i twisted the bulb with the lamp itself turned on so i could know when i got the right angle, this lamp has a ‘sweetspot’

It's not difficult but indeed you need to hear the click or start again. I will change it every 8months. It works great for my Cal King.
After struggling to even get the shadedweller in the bracket, ive now realised i havent turnt the bulb properly which is why its not turning on so now have to unscrew all the lamp guard etc! So stressed and glad i am getting it set up well before my snake goes in!
I heard the click. plugged it in and it turned on for half a second, then turned off if its cause I think it may be the warning saying make "make sure its off" but that does not really help when the package offered no way to distinguish if its on or off. Not to mention it declines you for a refund if that happens. Waste of 100$

First time doing this is so stressful but its a cinch once you get it. For me it was realizing the bulb will not budge once its set.
For those still struggling, you have to twist it much harder than expected. It's pretty annoying that they don't specify that in the instructions. Once it is fastened correctly, the light bulb should have no movement whatsoever
Amen to this just do it slowly and it’ll definitely click. I would do it without the bulb and turn both pieces just to make sure they turn easy

What wasn’t mentioned in the video is you gotta lift the bulb while twisting a bit! Thank you to the comment section. Can confirm it worked.

@@blankspace8758It has two clicks the first one just gets it locked in place then u need to twist ever so slightly more and gently and then it will lock fully into place

I had the same problem you got to put the tube bulb in it and lightly pick up on it while in the lamp and Rotate the tube bulb and not just put bulb in and rotate it that's what I did 😂 and i got really annoyed since it's my first time buying tube light lol
Thank you for this I couldn't figure out how to get the bulb to stay in place. This solved the problem but was still hard to do with acrylic nails 😂

I got the bulb to click into place, but when I turned it on the bulb flickers a bit. Will that go away as the bulb warms up? Or is that something wrong with my lamp/bulb?
Great lights! I like how you can join them in series so one plug powers multiple lights.
Can you make a new video ! As mine did not needed to be click it actually needed to rotate once till a stop and then rotate back with a little bit of lift to lock it into place

Okay definitly though i got a dead bulb because i was trying to do this fro the past 15 min and it wouldnt turn on... idk what i did but it finally flickered then i plugged it in and bam! im so relieved
For anyone struggling with the bulb installation, once you place the bulb into the slots, you rotate the bulb. But don’t stop once it’s rotated a bit. You gotta rotate it a bit more. Don’t be shy about giving it a little more effort. I thought my sht didn’t work but I just didn’t rotate it enough.

I followed the instructions in the video, but my lamp turns off a few seconds after I turn it on. I have to twist the lamp again to turn it back on, but it turns off again

I ordered the t5 pro arcadia 116cm ish. Ive had it over 2 years. Ive gone to change his bulb today (its been changed 3 time before and alwahs been fine) when ive switched the new one on there was a slight pop and now even my old light wont work in the fitting! Ive changed the fuse and not sure what else to do! Its clearly nkt the bulbs as the old one doesnt work to even turn back on either! Whats happened with this fitting please ? Can you help? I camt leave him with nothing ! !
I’m having trouble properly securing the bulb into the fixture, the bulb will barely turn before binding and I don’t hear a click

hey, even if i turn my bulb at the same rate each side, the bulb will barely turn. pls help 🙃
HI, these lamp holders work within a locking system. You need to turn the lamp from the 6 and 12o'clock position to the 3 and 9 o'clock position until you hear the locking click. Sometimes and when hot the rotators will bind. Simply remove the lamp and the unit from the power and gently tap the lamp holders and start again. Unless forced and broken they will rotate with even pressure :-)

What to do if it turns off after short periods of time? I never took it back to the store because I didn’t have the receipt but i bought it in April n haven’t been able to use it since then
Please check that the lamp is fully rotated inwards, that the power cable is fully pushed in and that there is no heat source directly over or next to it. Failing this, they have a 12 month guarantee, return to store for testing
Can you install one inside an enclosure for humidity liking species? I used one for my ball python when he was in a glass one with ventilation net running through the middle but I'm moving him to a wooden enclosure so it would need to be on the inside.
They are not waterproof, so care needs to be taken to ensure water does not ingress into the fitting
Hi , I got my t5 pro uvb 54 watt 14% kit less then 2 months ago it has been working fine but now I got home and the light is off and when I turn it off and on the 2 connections glow and flicker for a moment but it does not turn on. Is it the bulb thats broken or something else. It is rather big to take the entire fitting back to the store.
if the ends glow the lamp has become damaged, the gas escaped and therefore cannot maintain electron flow. This is a lamp breakage issue
Just picked mine up from petsmart and it did not work straight out of the box, bulb would flicker along a 2-3” area once then nothing. Was installed properly, bad bulb?
yes this is usually a broken lamp, the fitting is working but the gas in the lamp has escaped through damage and cannot ignite
Hello, I just received my uv pro kit today, I’m having some trouble getting the power cable to plug into the side of the reflector, it’s not fitting
you may be trying to the wrong end. One end is for mains power and the other for linking, they are different sockets you see. Spin it around and go in again. See if that works

Well I've been using my lamp for a year and the socket on the side where the cord is seems to have warped. Any reason for this?
usually this is a close by heat lamp warping the plastic
The packaging states that the T5 lamp requires a ballast to regulate the amount of electricity. Does that still apply if you have the entire Arcadia light kit so you can connect the lamp directly to a thermostat instead of a ballast?
All of our kits such as ProT5, UV minikit and ThermalZooPro have the ballasts built in internally.

yes you can, no problem at all
What fixture/accessories are needed for the 6% Forest uvb T8 15”?
you would need the 14/15w T8 controller, reflector and lamp. This is the older way of installing lighting, but it is still quite valid in the right system.
Please help! My uvb lamp isn’t working at all. I only had it for just a few months and it was working good then it went out all of a sudden. I just bought a new bulb bc I thought the bulb wasn’t functioning anymore, but now the new one I placed in isn’t working also when I place it into the shade dweller. At the store, they said it worked perfectly and that I just needed a new bulb, but now this one isn’t working once I get home. I’m really confused
This may just be a lamp rotate to lock issue. I would take the fitting back to store and ask them to fit the lamp. The fittings have a 12 month guarantee so your store will help you.
How do you fit this on a zoo med terrarium when there are 4 squares on the mesh
Same thought here I have Exo Terra’s with the 4 squares, switching my snake and leopard gecko to bulbs and I’ve got the UVA and DHP covered but for this one ya, not really sure cause you can’t sit it flush with the other lights I think I’m gonna probably see if I can somehow attach it to hang from the stand maybe with some fishing line, it’s been 11 months did you figure out a solution?

I have a very fine mesh top on my vivarium so how is the best way to instal my lamp outer casing to the mesh?
In almost all cases you pick the correct kit and % of UV-B to provide the correct UVI for your species, and rest the fitting on the mesh. This should then be checked with the solarmeter 6.5 index meter so that you know that you have the correct UVI at basking.
Is it possible to use this without the reflector? My fitting has finally gone and I had the t5 slimline luminaire which doesn't seem to exist anymore. Enclosure is 4.5ftx2ftx2ft and have always used t5 desert 12% uvb 39w 34in bulbs. I'm worried if I get this the reflector will be dangerous.
it is, but what is your species and distance to basking?
@@ArcadiaReptile Blue tongue skink and the highest he can climb is on a Cork bark log which is roughly at LEAST 1ft away from the light
I'll add that he rarely climbs on this and if he does its just to clamber over it momentarily and he doesnt use it to bask.

I cant find a place to buy these bulbs, even if I find them on amazon most of the reviews are bad and I cant find an option to have a bulb replacement, I never buy a bulb kit unless I know where a bulb replacement is

Get the highest percentage possible and raise the basking area using branches or stacking rocks, they are semi arboreal after all unless your dragon has severe MBD or other condition that hinders climbing. Don’t waste all that usable height just for a bulb.
The bulb I purchased is not long enough
I’ve put it against 3 of the previous bulbs I’ve purchased and the length is not the same

please take the lamp and fitting back to store for checking. They are made to the international standard sizing, so i have never seen it in 20 years.
@@ArcadiaReptile the lamp is about 5-10 ml short which makes it not fit into the holder. I’ve been purchasing this bulb for 3 years now and never had this problem

it will go all around if you force it. but! you need to insert the lamp at the 6 and 12 o'clock position and rotate it half a turn to 3 and 6 o'clock and you will feel the locks grab hold of the lamp and lock it into place. Forced rotation will break the fitting and or the lamp
If I bought a 24 inch fixture it would need a 24 inch uvb right?
if you buy a 24w fitting is is approx. 24" entirely. The 24w lamp is 22" and fits this fixture.
Pro tip guys plug it in when you start trying to turn it to get it to lock in place it’s super fragile and finicky you know you have it when it turns on then just stop messing with it and mount it lmao..

yes, non LumenIZE enabled versions of ProT5 and LED Bar can be used with good timers. However, we advise against the use of smart timers.

The link cable provided will link both ProT5 and LED Bar one from another. In the box you receive a switched power cable and a free link cable of 4' length

What actual size is that and what are you keeping? what is the distance to basking?
@@ArcadiaReptile It's a 36" x 18" x 18" for a leopard gecko and basking will be around 12-14".
@@Aj-yw3tk Then ShadeDwellerPro is perfect for you in that size viv and at that basking distance. It will allow good access to basking and a graduation into shade for self-regulation.
My light has stopped working after having it for one month. What does this mean?
the lamp or power cable may have come loose. Please take it back to store for testing.
IDK i got the wrong bulb or some but this thing wont turn no matter what i do all it does it turn a lil and stoped cant get it to do anything this f thing has beaten me for now i give up lol
What does it mean if my light is flashing even when unplugged
with no constant power lamps cannot strike or run. Phosphors can 'glow' for a few seconds after power is removed if the lamp has been on and is hot. A flash directly after using the switch inline can point to a failing switch, so a new power cord maybe needed.

How hot do these get ? I just purchased one and it’s reaching 130•F
Yes the outer casing will reach these temps and is rated for temps up to 70C. As we burn power, we create light and heat. Its very normal. The higher the wattage, the higher the heat.
@@ArcadiaReptile I keep leaftail geckos, should I hang the shade dweller up? Because it seems too hot for them, everyone has recommend this product from you guys so I’m confused, I guess I’m just not understanding.
@@Metalface1999 the heat will mostly radiate up away from the heatsink. There will be very little going downwards. But the animals should be protected from touching the lamp of course

so far i have been trying for 3 hours to get this damn tube in and nothing what the hell am i doing wrong
just make sure that the lamp ingress points are facing directly downwards, Push the lamp up fully into the lamp holders so that both ends are located upwards. Then firmly turn the lamp at both ends at once. The lamp will rotate the locking lamp holders and you will hear it click. You will go from 6 and 12 o'clock to 3 and 9 o'clock as the lamp clicks into place.
It just randomly turned off, took me straight 10 minutes just to put that shit back together 🤦♂️
The bulb won't twist
make sure that the lamp is fully inserted and that you turn both ends together equally. It should then rotate until locked

This is an English term of catching or locking up, not fusing,
I cant get by brackets to fit my housing unit for the lamp why does no one show it being fitted
its easy when you know how :-) press into one edge first and then push upwards. This will open the compression spring of the clip and the bar will seat. Start with one edge first.
