The fourth movie in the "First Blood" film franchise is by far the bloodiest of the series so far, which could have led some critics to dismiss it as a cheap addition to the "horror porn" trend that was popular at the time. Big mistake!
Here's why director Sylvester Stallone's heavy use of onscreen violence was actually a smart and strategic way to return this character to his roots, while also saying something profound about the Rambo films that preceded this 20-years-later sequel.
