Gary was one if not the finest guitarist of his time which was tragically cut far too short. He could make a guitar cry, sing, roar and scream. RIP Legend
I love Gary Moore's electric blues. This song is his very best. I have listened to every version of it that I can find, and this one - for me - is the ultimate. If only I could have been present in Glasgow in 1984 for this concert. Rest in peace Gary. Your loyal fans will never forget you. Your music is forever in our hearts.
By far Gary's greatest rendition of Empty Rooms ....Glasgow 84.. The whole performance is brilliant. The solo's a master class. Still floors me 25 years after first hearing it...
I had a live version of this song on an old audio cassette, and I've just found out it's from this, and I agree, from other live versions that I've heard, this as been the best.
Love this song when I first heard 1983 and still love this song just as much, Gary had special gift to make his guitar cry like no others, when you see him live? you can see in his face, very grateful I got to see him, place call living room in Providence RI 1986, RIP guitar legend.
To me this is the best version of Empty Rooms and for my money one of the best, if not the best, example of his live playing. I always liked his 80's hard rock phase and the guitar playing on this recording, in particular that second solo, is something special.Sure he could play fast but he also had beautiful melodic phrasing and there was an accuracy to his playing- every note mattered. Much missed...

I struggle with putting someone in particular on the pedestal (as there are so many who deserved it) Neverthe less his playing is so skilfully expressive and tasteful, never cease to amaze me.
R.I.P Gary Moore my all time favorite and idol guitar player! This is just the best live solo ever for this song and I especially like the 2nd outro solo where he shows he was and is the one of the greatest of all time!!! Wonderful melodic and very creative way to find the notes and do the faster "speed patterns" in a such way that no one them does. I really admire him, he was the best to me!!!
This is part of "we want moore live album". Talking about soloing,is the best live version for me. The original solo is complete , stuff that in years later its reduced. And the 2nd jam solo is perfect , is emotional and fast at the same time. The stockholm 87 live video version that all people knows is really good, is longer, jamming a lot, with several tempo changes..But this 84 version, is creative with the and all the phrases, licks, tempos and stuff have a correct length, are pieces tha working perfectly. The last running across the fretboard is killing.

It's a great live song and so many different versions! Out of all those I've heard, my absolute favourite is the version from the live video shot at GoldDiggers nightclub around '83/'84 with the Moore, Carter, Daisley & Paice line up. For me, the solo & tone are perfect. Not rating the concert overall, just this track :-)

Oh Gary Gary quite contrary!!! I saw him live just once, at end of eighties in Milan San Siro football stadium less than half empty. In a beautiful early spring evening he played a short set before headliners Marlllion putting the stage on fire, so much so that I got away just after his gig without any wish to hear other music, with a broken heart and a twisted mind.❤😢
I cry every time I listen to Gary. My heart was broken when he left us. Nobody has made a guitar "sing" like Gary.
His guitar is the voice of his heart. A heart that's severely broken,I would guess. ....and I should know
..2005
best vocalist., best guitarist....ever RIP DEAR GARY.

Loneliness is your only friend, a broken heart that just wont mend is the price you pay

A masterpiece of melodic structure
G.M. line up👉 Cozy Powell, Neil Carter, Bob Daisley...Simply Amazing 👏👏👏
The line up for this beautiful live version are Gary Moore, Neil Carter, Bob Daisley, and on the drums is Eric Singer.
@@mikehell9818 yes, the line up is incredible and only monster of the rock.
The King of Improvisation. The guitar was part of his body and soul.
Love it.
a truly master in guitar soloing.

Μπράβο ρε φίλε!
LOWE GM
What guitar was that ?? Charvel with maple neck or rosewood neck ?? or what ?
His red strat?
CHARVEL
Definitely better played on a guitar without a Floyd Rose though. The tone on the Golddiggers on the LP was superior. God version though.
me mata como me gusta
MASTERPIECE.
