May I ask what model of camera did you use for shooting? Is the exposure parameter the default setting? I always use my phone to capture TV images with color deviation
please answer, do you see the difference between the bands when setting up the TV in the xbox menu, am I talking about gradations below or above the marks?
Thank you for your continued coverage of HDR settings for LG CX televisions 🙌. You really do help out a lot and I always check out your videos when buying a new game. Best gaming channel on RUclips 😊
I am really surprised about all the great news I hear about Dead Island 2. I didn’t expect anything and honestly thought this would flop… Apparently, the gameplay is solid, graphics are nice and HDR looks good too - I might pick it up soon
On PC using an LG C2 I’m using 800 white point and 20 brightness and I get 797 nits on image viewer. You can also use 750 and 30 brightness if you like it more brighter. Using HGIG ofc. Hope it helps
I started the game and yep, as soon as I get control over the character I thought "come on now, no black level raise please."but like you said, it's way better later on. I also agree that at times it's actually too bright outside and it appears slightly washed out then. For me on the S95B.
Appreciate the video, I was actually considering to buy this game on PC but since Dead Island 2 looks great at 1800p 60fps with fantastic HDR I will be picking it up for PS5 after watching your video 🌠
hey gaming tech! first of all FAN of your channel. thank you for doing all this work for us! I currently have the Samsung 900C 2023 mini LED. Do these settings also apply? I notice you use a lot of OLED. Can I still go by your videos??
Thank you very much. I can of course just verify the settings for the TV's I own but I try to provide settings for a wider range of TV's. Most important thing is that you know what the peak brightness of your TV is.
@@GamingTech-RUclips2200 nits. I do play in game mode for the 900C however I don’t use game HDR as I personally don’t like the darker look of the picture.
Quick question: When you are comparing HGIG to DTM OFF...for DTM OFF, are you keeping the same value in the game calibration as HGIG? Because wouldnt' that result in double tone mapping? (game tone maps 1300 or whatever you set it to for the video - assumign HGIG - and then the panel tone maps it since you have DTM OFF selected, right? So what would happen if you compared your normal HGIG setup to DTM OFF but in the in-game calibration, you set it much higher to when the image clips with DTM OFF selected? I am assuming the game uses a 1k nit tone curve. I hope that makes sense. let me know if I misunderstood anything. Thank you sir! Also, separately, not sure if you've ever messed around in the HDMI Signaling Override menu, but you can actually select maxcll and maxdml for the panel to use. It can help when using DTM OFF (for games where HGIG isn't bright enough or not working well or something.) I think this means you can tell the TV to use a certain tone curve. So for something like cyberpunk, where you recommended DTM on, you can actucally do DTM Off and then set a 2000 nit tone curve (max cyberpunk puts out) for maxdml/maxcll in that menu and the TV should respect it.
@@Legenkilla I did the system level calibrations for my PS5 & Xbox in HGIG, then turn DTM on. I don't have this game, but in general I fine tune the settings for play with DTM on. I almost never play in HGIG
You say if you follow the games hdr settings instruction you'll have it set too low yet on my S90c following the games hdr instructions puts my white point at 1650 nits. My tv's true peak brightness is around 1200 nits so I'm so confused on where I should set the white point. I have my tone mapping set to static.
Hello big fan of your videos, you are my go to guy for hdr settings, i was wondering, can i use the FTDA setting instead on my LG CX instead of lowering the brightness to 49, and if so what should i set the FTDA setting to. Thank you in advance!
PC 42 C2 here. HDR looks pretty nice, I guess we can say they nailed it. I've played it a bit (going to the hotel and coming back to Bell Air). The first impression is good, I kinda like the game, but it's a game that should have been launched a few years ago. The only "next-gen" thing about the game it's...the textures and the overall graphics. Other than that, it's actually a bit of a mess.Sounds and animations sometimes seems off, unsynched and honestly, the animations are the most outdated thing in this game, which is, in my opinion a big thing. Combat , so far, seems clunky yet somehow it works, it's pretty fun. With the game not being actually such a serios thing, mixed with the specific goofyness and absurd gore, all the negative things I've noticed so far, kinda pass through. Overall feels like an outdated game with really high details and textures that is pretty fun.
@@naccibeatz he explains in the video a setting of 1000nits in game actually only outputs 880nits hence setting to 950nits will actually get you about 800nits which is what the CX,C1,C2 and G1 are capable of.
Hello. First off, I love your videos. They are super helpful. I just wanted to mention that I recently bought a 27GR95QE-B. I looked around in the service menu (using the service remote that work for LG OLED TVs like the CX), and I found something VERY interesting. I thought you may be interested too. This panel actually shows you the current tone curve that's being used as well as the currentmaxcll that's being output by the content. Below is a link to an AVSForum thread I created if you'd like to take a look. I'd be super interested to hear your thoughts. For example, one interesting thing I found is that the panel reports cyberpunk 2077 using a 500 nit tone curve? Also, autoHDR games and games that respect the system level calibration on win11 say "603" for the tone curve, which I suspect means no tone mapping applied. This monitor is not HGIG btw. Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts. I am trying to figure out the best settings for this panel since it lacks HGIG. It has no tone mapping controls at all. I listed a few more games in the threads and what the panel reports. www.avsforum.com/threads/i-wanted-to-share-some-interesting-things-ive-found-by-going-into-the-service-menu-of-a-27gr95qe-b.3273378/#post-62498695

People really underestimate how much great HDR can improve the visuals of a game, and how much poor HDR destroys them.
Many think hdr is a gimmick altogether. Its really just not steamline enough for average users.
Been waiting for your video of HDR settings for this game 👍🏻

Very cool, Marcus. 🎉 Great HDR of this game. Thank you, friend.
Always look forward to your videos for new game releases. Looks great thanks!
Danke fürs checken. Ohne deine Tests hätte HDR auf meinem C1 auf 800 gesetzt, was natürlich falsch gewesen wäre. Also danke und Daumen nach oben.
