Slowdive are the mother of all Shoegaze bands, unfortuately lots of bands try to copy them and fail. Definately
the best Shoegaze Band ever!
Well why even bother about them. it doesn't make Slowdive worse in any way .

Nick creates a perfect swirling delay with his guitar that just evokes everything this song is about in this version. He just nails it.
I was just listening to "slowdive" when I received this notification.
Album version is amazing but this is even a level up. Fantastic !

F' me, that was good. One of the few bands from the 90's, who actually sound as good as they did back then.
I’m 46 now but listening to this live version transports me back to being 20 years old all over again. It feels just as magical now as it did back then as the soundtrack to my youth. This literally brings tears to my eyes.
I was so skeptical of them never playing this song live. But I saw them in 2018 in Melbourne and they played it and I was completely floored. Never imagined they'd play it, but I was so happy they did.
One of only two tracks they play live from Pygmalion - which is a shame, because I bet they could do something similar to some of the other tracks on there.
Sublime. Better than both recordings they’ve released in a way. The added quiet/loud dynamics in this performance really take it over the edge for me.
Bass Is The Place True. They have killer sound.
I'm with you there, I miss the effects on the vocals in the studio version though.

Both versions are good; but this rocks. I feel the drummer finally gets to shine a little more than usual.
This is one of the most overlooked, underrated bands of all time. I'm glad their perseverance and love for their music hasn't waned over the past 30+ years.

One of the greatest bands to grace this planet. Its bands like this that should be making millions and conquering the world not the repetitive pop shite that's blasted constantly on the radio and the tele.
I watch this a couple of times a year- it's such a great set, and imo this is the best song from it- it shows how punchy and epic they can be, as well as harmonic and dreamy... One of the best British bands ever 😎✨

Great version. Love the Ulrich Schnauss rework as well .. such an atmospheric piece that - despite its repetitive elements - never bores.
Even better than the studio recording! Love the dynamics they added in this version.

Saw them play this at Hyde Park, it's such a fantastic rendition of the original. Somehow they almost make an ambient song danceable, or maybe even mosh-able.
